It is a clear capsule with white, yellow and turqouise blue beads in it....the name Alva is on the side in red. ## what is this medicine for? ## From what I've been able to find, this is a Diurex capsule that contains 50mgs of Pamabrom, it's a diuretic that's available over the counter and is most commonly used to relieve the bloating caused by fluid retention due to PMS and menstruation. My wife is suffering from MCD (Minimal Change Disease) and has been prescribed the above drugs by the Nephrologist. However, she has started experiencing acute cramps all over her legs and hands. Please advice or share experience. ## I am not a medical doctor but have some understanding of the diuretic due to use of these on my parents. The cramps are a result of loss of potassium due to use of Lasix type of diuretic, and reduced loss of potassium due to use of Dytor type of diuretic. Normally potassium chloride is recommended to substitute for potassium loss and to take care of the cramps. My advice is to see a good physician and get an opinion on this. Cramps are highly debilitating and painful and hence I am responding to this. My mother who had been on prolonged dytor use had cramps...

The pill is tiny, very light peach or rose color, has the letter p on one side and nothing on the other. It is round, with flat top and bottom. It is supposed to be a 12.5mg ( 12 1/2mg ) HCTZ pill of Canadian manufacture. Is this the correct pill. thank you ..... ps.
