My drprescribed me nital but i have no knowledge of this drug ## Hi Sharon, Did you mean to say Nytol (with a Y)? I couldn't seem to locate much details on a Nitol (with an i), other than it containing Nitric Acid. Nytol (with a Y) has significantly more information to offer, so I can only assume that this may be what you are referring to, so please let me know if this is correct. Nytol is a brand of sleeping pill produced by GlaxoSmithKline. The active ingredient is diphenhydramine hydrochloride; which is a sedative antihistamine. I need to know what this pill is: it is blue, oblong, has the numbers 44-495 on the top. The back reads: each tablet contains Diphenhydramine HCI 25 mg and Phenylephrine 10 mg. What is the name of the drug and what is it used for? ## Those are the drug names, Diphenhydramine and Phenylephrine, this is an over the counter product used to treat cold and allergy symptoms. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions? ## I think drug companies should be required to put the name of the drug on the paper part of the blister pack so that pills can be identified if they get seperated from their box/container.

I found a suspicious pill that doesn't look American or FDA approved. It is a half white, half pink capsule with a black stripe on each side. It does not have any branding or coding on it. ## The lack of an imprint doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't a U.S. product, or that it isn't FDA approved. Over the counter items aren't required to have unique imprints and list them with the FDA. That said, while I can be certain that's what these are, I have seen some Diphenhydramine capsules that meet this description, they were sold as a store brand of Benadryl. Does anyone else recognize this capsule?

I'm looking at the same pills, but these are in a casing. The back indicates that each pill contains 25 mg of Diphenhydramine HCL. So these are either generic Benadryl or Unisom. ## Hello, I noticed in another thread, there was a user who claimed that this pill is Loricet 10. She doesn't provide any proof of this, but I was curious to know if you could? Theres a lot of mixed information floating around the net, and 44 357 imprint does not show up on the drug databases I've checked so it would be good to know whats real and what's not based on photos or maybe a link to the manufacturer's page if you're able to do so. Thanks for any help clarifying this! -David ## generic sleeping pills

What is Diphenhy used for and how does it make u feel? ## Hi Melissa, Diphenhydramine is used to relieve red, irritated, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by hay fever, allergies, or the common cold. Additionally it can be used to prevent and treat motion sickness, and to treat insomnia (difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep); and may also be used to control abnormal movements in people who have early stage parkinsonian syndrome (a disorder of the nervous system that causes difficulties with movement, muscle control, and balance) or who are experiencing movement problems as a side effect of a medication. Diphenhydramine will relieve the symptoms of these conditions but "will not tre...

Why no mention of the sleeping pill Toquilone? It is a prescription-only drug containing 250mg methaqualone and 25mg diphenhydramine, available in several countries and quite popular in Switzerland & Belgium. Very effective, it used to be marketed in the UK under the name Mandraxâ„¢. ## The main reason is due to the fact that we are based in the U.S., even though our site does get international users. This means that if something isn't approved and available in the U.S., we often don't have any information on it, until someone like you mentions it, or asks about it! :-) Are there any questions or comments?

It is white and oblong Any Ideas? ## neon pink oblong pill with v on one side and a 25 on the other ## Hi rikki, The oblong pink pill marked V 25 is Diphenhydramine HCL (25 mg), which is mainly used to treat allergies. You can view information about Diphenhydramine by visiting the link below... @William, Unfortunately, I was unable to locate the pill you described in any of the U.S. drug databases. I wish I could be of more help, but one thing you can do is take the pill over to your local pharmacy and see if they have any particular way of testing for ingredients. If not, they should at least be able to provide advice on how you can get it lab tested (locally). I hope this helps!
