I'm not getting any relief from the Nucynta. Could you recommend anything else for the breakthrough pain that isn't an NSAID, which I cannot take due to liver disease? I sure do miss Darvon. ## There are quite a few options on the market to treat pain that do not contain NSAIDs. Have you tried Tramadol? It is also a centrally acting analgesic, like the Nucynta, and is also non-narcotic, it is available by itself, without any NSAIDS: There are also many other narcotics on the market, without NSAIDs that could be used to treat breakthrough pain, such as an instant release Oxycodone or Morphine: Has your doctor suggested anything els...
i found a small round white pill with a number 8 on one side and a line across the other side in my sisters bathroom. it is suppose to be a dilaudid. but i dont think it is, can anyone tell me if it is? ## No, I didn't find a listing for a Dilaudid tablet, or the generic equivalent Hydromorphone that has just an 8 on it. There are several with an 8 as part of the imprint, but there are also other letters, numbers and/or a logo. Learn more Dilaudid details here. How small is it? Would you say it's similar to an Aspirin tablet, or maybe smaller like a birth control pill? ## I've seen Dilaudid that come in 2mg, 4mg, or 8mg. On one side it has the #4 (for four mg) or like you said the number 8 for 8mg. They are very small, round with a beveled edge. There are numbers on the back...
I started off taking 1/2 of an 8mg Dilaudid. It was given to me from a friend who has a legit script because I threw out my back. From the first time I took it, I loved it...not a good thing. Within a week, I talked him into giving me his entire script (180 8mgs) as he truly did not NEED it. I started out at 4mg 3x a day, but quickly upped that. Within two weeks, I was up to 7-8x a day, sometimes 12-16 mg at a time, never less than 8mg, usually once an hour, and occasionally snorting it. I was basically high for two months straight. I made the decision after seeing two of my good friends become junkies to try and stop before it got worse and I'd end up shooting it. I tapered down to 8mg 3x a day, then 2x a day, then 4mg 3x a day, then 2x a day. After that I quit cold turkey, and let...
tampa er to be given dilaudid for migraine ? ## I'm sorry, but ERs and doctors don't advertise according to what medications they may or may not administer. Dilaudid is generally the first line treatment choice for severe migraines, but there are no guarantees that any ER will administer it. Learn more Dilaudid details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted your doctor about a solution for your migraines?
Have recently come across 12mg dilaudid a neighbor gets at a compound pharmacy ,though been unable to find any info at all on these. Help!? ## And you won't find any information on them. A compounding pharmacy creates the medications as specially ordered from someone's doctor. This may be done for several reasons, such as someone needing a combination of medications that isn't available on the market. Or as in this case, a dosage that isn't available in the standard prescription medications. That's also why they are in capsule form, the pharmacy orders empty capsules and then fills them with the dosage the doctor has ordered. Learn more Dilaudid details here. Thus, in this case, there are no special imprints to look up and there will be no details on it under that do...
my wife has nerve damage in her cervical, lumbar, and sacrial areas of her spine. her doc. has been trying to find a med that will relieve her pain. most of them are opiates. lortab, 25mcg patch, gabapentin. she is highly allergic to thoridal(sp?) and most anti-inflamitories. the doc is doing 2 week trials so it is easy to assume that when she keeps coming in with a different script that somthing is shady. her body chemistry is odd and meds do not have ordinary effects on her. example, morphine has zero effect on her. now she is trying to fill a a legal script for dilaudid and the walgreens said she does not fit an undiscribed criteria and wont fill the script because the dosage is too high. this failure to meet the criteria will result in her not being able to submit that prescription ...
Is this a commonly used drug. And is it been proven to help with migraines. ## Hello, Tiffany! How are you? Sorry about the migraines! The name of the medication is actually Dilaudid, it contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, which is a very potent narcotic and yes, it has proven to work so well for migraines, that it's usually the drug of choice to treat them, when someone ends up in the ER with a severe one. Since it is a narcotic, it does have the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Learn more Dilaudid details here. Is there anything else I can help with?
I go to ER 1-2x/mo for pain. Always same "cocktail" - Dilaudid, Toradol, Zofran, & Ativan. Works like a charm and I am usually in/out in about 3-4 hours. Only IV delivery seems to be effective. Doc would like me to be able to get these meds in some other way than ER due to excessive cost but can't seem to find a place willing to administer. Is there are reason I couldn't learn to do it at home? Would home health be an option? Is home health ever "on call?" ## Hello I am in the process of getting a pain pump but I have been hearing a lot about this homecare stuff and they come in and give you your meds I am 35 and not really thrilled about the pain pump but I can not hold on to my meds cause I always run out its not cause I take dubble or triple the amount at ...
Is there a dilaudid pill that is round, white andhas the numbers 54 on top and 142 underneath? ## Actually, the tablet with this marking contains 10mgs of Methadone, which is a narcotic used to treat pain and drug addiction. It has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Methadone details here. R they yellow with a line on one side and nothing on the other side ## Hi, Matt! How are you? No, all Dilaudid tablets available on the U.S. market would have an imprint on them, this is required by law to enable their identification in case of emergency. If you have a tablet with no imprint on it, then it is most likely something that's available over the counter. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I got them throw the mail is it possible if they came from another County
Is a small, thick, round pill with 2mg scored onto one side and a P over IR on the other side, a generic Dilaudid? ## You didn't specify what color your pill was, but based on the information provided, the closest match I'm finding is a description of a white oblong shaped pill imprinted with "P-XL 32mg"; which has been identified as Palladone 32 mg. Palladone is just another brand of Dilaudid (hydromorphone), but not a generic. Manufacturer: Purdue Pharma LP National Drug Code (NDC): 59011-0315 You can learn more about this drug on the page for Hydromorphone Details Does this sound like a possible match? ## A white round tablet one side has nothing but a line a cross it and on other has 54 and under it was I thank 406 or 426 is this a 8few mg ## A white round tablet one...
dan ## Well, there are several, including the narcotic Dilaudid. Do you know if the information you are seeking is on a narcotic, anti-inflammatory or other type? ## Dan, go to the page Drug Categories, then to Pain Relief, and if you scroll down it will list the medications fitting in that category alphabetically. Just scroll down to the D's and you will see there are a few listed. Hope this helps!
I just had My Tonsils out and Uvula Trimmed. It is a very painful recovery so far. I was given 5mg of ocycodone to take 2 pills every 6 hours. one of my friends gave me 75 4 mg dialaudid. I have been taking 1 4mg every 6 hours sometimes every 4 hours. i found the oxycodone 5mg did not work well so i switched over after the 2nd day. I have a bit of an addictive personality and i do not want to get addicted to this. the acute pain should last about another week from what i was told. What is the best way to start getting off the dilaudid ? i tried taking less of the dilaudid, ie extending times between doses or skipping but the pain is unbearable for me. Im 30 years old and the tonsils were the biggest the surgeon has told me he has seen. I lost over a litre of blood during the procedure w...
I have had a hard time filling my prescription in broward county and sometimes cant fill for two to three weeks and pay as much as 9 dollars a piece for them this is an outrage can you help me to find a pharmacy or even a mail order pharmacy in the state to help ## HI, Walt! Sorry about the problem that you're having. To find a mail-order pharmacy, your best bet is to check with your insurance company. Most will have a preferred one that they use and may not cover prescriptions provided by others. Learn more Dilaudid details here. As to a brick & mortar pharmacy, there's really no way to know which one will have it in stock, at any given time. Have you discussed the situation with your doctor? You may be able to try and alternative medication that's cheaper.
I take dilaudid for chronic pain. I have to take urine test to prove im taking them, all patients have to for my Dr. I take the meds & when I took my UA my dr said I had no dilaudid in my system. UpdatedI have been prescribed dilaudid for pain but I am alergic to morhpine. Am I safe or no? ## Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, which is another narcotic opiate. It's related to Morphine, but not the same. It does have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache and constipation. Learn more Dilaudid details here. Since you are allergic to Morphine, there is a chance that you may be allergic to other opiates as well, thus please watch for the signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, trouble breathing, or throat swelling. Has your doctor prescribed it and are they aware of your allergy? ## Regarding Dilaudid. I always have Dilaudid when I have surgery. I have allergic problems with Morp...
As I understand Dilaudid-HP Injection is available as a sterile, aqueous solution in colorless ampules. Comes in 4 mg of hydromorphone, for injecting in vein or subcutaneous or intramuscle. I have chronic back pain and the only course for treatment is to live with the pain. Or find a pain medication that my liver can tolerate, without shortening my life. I am dying from liver disease and would like to check out without the severe pain. Currantly I take approx 40 Mg of methadone, which I hate. I must soak the pills then strain off the clear liquid (water) then throw away the carrier. I know out of 60 mgs I am probably getting about Otherwise if I take the entire pill. I get very nausuated. Can my Dr. Perscribe it and will I be able to locate it in a drug store??? Many thanks, Robert ## A...
Small round peach colored. P on one side 2 on the other ## Sounds like Dilaudid 2mg (hydromorphone), which is a very potent narcotic used to treat severe pain. Quite a bit stronger than vicodin or percocet so use caution. Learn more: Dilaudid Details
I found a very small green round pill look like liquid in it. Could it possibly be a dilaudid? ## Hi Nett, Judging from your description, I get the sense that it may be an OTC pill or some sort of dietary supplement; possibly even an illicit or foreign drug. However, there's really no way it could be a legitimate Dilaudid pill, since all U.S. prescription drugs are required by law to have an imprint for verification of substance and dosage. Is there any marking or imprint on the pill that you may have overlooked?
what are my options? What is affordable I have no insurance?what matches up to this in morphine sulfate ER? ## I'm sorry, I hate to see anyone dealing with such difficulties. However, I don't know what the prices will be in your area, since it can vary from location to location, pharmacy to pharmacy and it will depend on the dosage, the amount purchased and etc. And if you were to go with the Morphine, you'd need 32mgs of it to equal each 8mgs you take of the Dilaudid. Since you have no insurance, you may do better with the Fentanyl patch, it is a very potent narcotic and each patch lasts for 3days. Learn more Fentanyl details here. It's also available as a generic, as well as the name brand Duragesic. Did your doctor mention any options to you, or did they just leave yo...
