Does anyone know if this medication has any potential negative interactions with any of the following drugs? Metformin Cymbalta Crestor Hydrochlorathyazide Provigil Potassium Citrate (aka Urocit) I have a UTI following a kidney stone. My regular doctor is away and one of the partners prescribed Nitrofur-Macr. After reading about all of the side effects I'm worried about taking it. I'm allergic to penicillin. Thank you. ## MONITOR: Diuretic-induced renal impairment and dehydration may increase the risk of lactic acidosis in patients who are concomitantly taking metformin. In addition, thiazides and other diuretics may interfere with glucose control by causing hyperglycemia, glucose intolerance, new-onset diabetes mellitus, and/or exacerbation of preexisting diabetes. I am taking Novomix30, 12 units and 8 units in the morning and night respectively along with VildaGliptin 50mg and Metformin 500 mg in the morning and night (two times) regularly. My blood sugar was 8.3(fasting)before taking this medication. Before this medication I was under treatment of Metformin 500mg once daily and low dose of Novomix30. But after the new medication prescribed the doctor I have been suffering severe dehydration which is taking away all strength. The recent dose of medication also tuned myself into a hypoglycemic. I think, my new medication is excessive according to my needs. First time when I started my diabetic treatment about 50 days ago, my fasting blood glucose was 12.7. Please suggest your opinion over my new doses of medication. My other parameters of Lipid pr...

my pill has an A on the front an 1/8 on the back what is it. ## I didn't find an exact match to your pill, but one that is very similar and could possibly be manufactured by the same company. This round white pill I located has the imprint A 1/4 instead of A 1/8. It's identified as Metformin hydrochloride (1000 mg), and is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma. I would consider contacting them at the link below to see if they make the pill you are describing: Alternatively, if you're able to, I would consider taking the pill over to your local pharmacy and having it analyzed by their team to see if they can come up with anything. I hope this helps!

I just ordered Dr. Derrick DeSilva product called "PHYTEVA". Does it work for Fibrmyalgia or High Glucose? And WHAT has anyone used it for that got RESULTS? ## From what I am finding, Phyteva is promoted as an antiaging product. Regardless, it is still nothing more than a nutritional supplement, which they can claim helps with many issues, but this is actually not proven. What treatments has your doctor suggested?

I have been taking Metformin for several years now, small round pill 3/8" diameter, one side says MF W/Line Underscore in middle of pill, then the number 1 underneath. The other side has a large letter G. My last prescription is larger round pill 1/2" in diameter, one side says RBX with a line through centre of pill, the other side says R12. The larger pill is considerably harder to swallow. What's the story here? ## The tablet with the RBX R12 marking also contains 500mgs of Metformin, it has just been manufactured by a different company, in this case Ranbaxy pharmaceuticals. The size difference is probably due to their using different inactive ingredients. Is there anything else I can help with?

what are the differences between gluconorm sustained release and 500mg aand extended release ## There would actually be no different in these, both sustained release and extended release mean the same thing, that it's a controlled release formulation of the medications. Rather than releasing the medications, all at once, as regular tablets do, there are specially made to slowly release over time to help better control your blood sugar. Are there any other questions or comments?

I AM TAKING NOVOLOG AND LANTUS INSULIN. MY READINGS ARE SKYROCKETING. IS THEIR SOMETHING FOR INSULIN RESISTANCE OR TO SUPPRESS CARBS! ## Have you consulted your doctor? You may need to try other medications. An additional question, are you watching what you eat and getting proper exercise? Those are really the best things you can do to help lower your blood sugar levels, because medications isn't going to be able to do it all, by itself. You may want to try keeping a food diary for a few weeks, with the corresponding blood sugar readings, so you and your doctor can see if there is a pattern. It could help you discover if there are certain things you're eating that are causing yours to elevate and then you'll know what you should stay away from.
