After starting Jardiance I developed a dry cough, hoarseness and sinus infection. The coughing was uncontrollable. Could this be a side effect? ## The FDA does warn that Jardiance has been known to cause cough, and upper respiratory tract infection as side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, hypoglycemia, and hypotension. I just started .5 Ozempic and I have no appetite. I also have no energy. Having a hard time focusing. I have been taking janumet 50/1000 twice a day for about 2 weeks. My question is when will the side effects stop? I have had painful gas, diarrhea and headaches. I have notices the gas pains have slowed a lot, but there seems to be no end in sight for the other 2. Help! I hated taking metformin but it is helping my sugars are down so I am reluctant to stop. I was started on 10 mg of Jardiance 1 week ago. Began experimenting severe lower back and abdominal pain and cramping within 24 hours. Stopped taking drug after 2 doses but pain has only minimally stopped. Have been to emergency department and have no uti, tumour or kidney failure, but have completely lost sensation of knowing when to urinate! ## Was perscribed this drug in Nassau, Bahamas but cannot find it in USA. It is a diabetes medication. ## Yes, it contains Gliclazide and is used to treat diabetes, but helping to lower and control blood sugar. I picked up my rx metformin from a pharmacy with my prescription but got metfortic 500 instead. Can anyone tell if this is fake or real? ## Hi Taz, If you picked these up from a licensed pharmacy with a valid prescription, then yes, they are real. However, being "real" does not necessarily equate to something being "effective", and often times patients who receive a lesser effective medication are quick to call it fake or counterfeit, when in reality it may just be certain fillers that inhibit optimal bioavailability. Nevertheless, if something doesn't seem right about your prescription then you should contact the pharmacy you got it filled at just to be on the safe side. Paid $388 for a month supply of Jardiance to only use 3 days and told to stop. There should be a refund allowed. Or give samples for high cost medication. ## I am very sorry about what happened, and I agree with you. I'm very sensitive to medications, and have quite a few allergies, so I've spent money on medications many times, only to end up having to stop them to try something else, it is a horrible waste of money. Some companies do provide doctors with free samples that they can provide to their patients to see if the medication works for them, before they have to spend money on it, but not all of them do. I keep reading that you should start at the 10mg dosage but my doctor prescribed me the 25mg to start. Is this normal and ok? Right now I am taking 2.5mg glipizide and my fasting blood sugars are running around 100-120. She also didn't tell me if I should stop glipizide when starting Jardiance. ## Usually, Jardiance is taken along with your other diabetes medication, but you should double check with your doctor to be sure.
