Are the Metformin 500 mg tab Sandoz used to control high blood sugar? ## Hello, Based on my research, Metformin belongs to the class of medications called "oral hypoglycemics", which are medications that lower blood sugar. It is used to control blood glucose (blood sugar) for people with type 2 diabetes. It is used when diet, exercise, and weight reduction have not been found to lower blood glucose well enough on their own. Metformin works by reducing the amount of glucose made by the liver and by making it easier for glucose to enter into the tissues of the body. Metformin has been found to be especially useful in delaying problems associated with diabetes for overweight people with diabetes. NOTE: studies have proved that a low fat raw vegan diet can reverse and cure diabetes ...
i have a small thin blue pill , scored with 40 written on underside of score, could someone please help identify this? ## Hi Jeff, The closest match I can find based on the description provided is: Glyburide micronized (5 mg); which is in the drug class "Sulfonylureas" and is used in the treatment of type II diabetes. It is a small, round, blue pill with the imprint GG over 240 with a score in between. My guess is that the other imprints might have been smudged off at some point; leaving just a 40 below the score. Could that be a possibility? Manufacturer: Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Inc. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Glyburide Details If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## well its in good enough shape to...

White rectangular pill with marking of LDI followed by upside down LDI ## Not sure if this is the same thing. But someone else has a white oblong tablet imprinted "LDI Hoechst" that is glyburide 5mg - a diabetes medication. It is made by Hoechst-Marion in Mexico. Other people here on the site have also mentioned that this particular white oblong pill marked "LDI" was supposed to be Xanax when they ordered it in mexico, but may have gotten scammed. Would like to know the side effects of the pill Metax. Learn more Metanx details here. As such, it has not been tested for side effects, as is done with actual prescription drugs, but as was mentioned, since they tend to be very potent, they have been known to cause nausea, in some people. Updated in Glucosewhite,oval,48 on one side 93 on other side. Is not scored, made by Teva. Can I cut in half? I've not used this brand before. It doesn't have the taste of usual tablet made by APOT. ## my metformin by teva smells and taste like a dead mouse, ## I had the dead mouse and the major fish. I stopped because of stomach pain from the chinese manu that seemed to win all the local contracts. High A1C as a result of these games. ## To clear up some things asked about or mentioned in these posts… No, it is not safe to cut any tablet that is time released, as denoted by the ER in the first post. Doing say may result in your getting too much of the medication, at once, which could lead to overdose. However, the tablet made by Teva with the 93 48 marking is not a time release...

Can I dissolve regular metformin ? I can't swallow large pills ## Hi Linda, Based on my research, it seems like other people have already tried putting the tablet into water to see if it dissolved and they mentioned that it didn't. However I've read that Metformin can also come in powder or liquid solutions depending on the brand, so if it comes down to it I would just ask your doctor for one of those scripts instead of the tablet. I hope this helps! ## The regular metformin did dissolve after awhile. Very hard pill. Thanks for the help.
doctor never heard of this drug. ## Do you mean Metformin ? For type 2 diabetes ? ## hi, because metphormin is a prescibed medication, i would think that you have to take as directed. but It was prescribed based on your historical blood sugar readings which fluctuate on an hourly basis kind of in relation to the glycimic index of the food you just ate and the amount of physical activity you are doing..eg....eating a donut sitting watching tv with 2 metphormin pills or eating a doughnut and running up 90 feet of stairs, and having taken 2 metphormin pills after an hour recheck you blood sugar levels or eating broccoli and taking 2 metphornin pills and running upstairs. the fact is that the dosage of metmophin lowers your resting (so to speak) sugar level but the other two have to be juggl...
I found this in my teenage sons drawer. What is it? I can't locate it on the computer. On one side it is GP 128 and the other side is smooth. Long white oval pill. ## Glucophage's generic (Metformin) Anti-Diabetic pill ## That reads a little strange, so I'd like to make things a little more clear to avoid confusion. Glucophage would actually be the brand name, not the manufactured, like that post might make one think, though the identification is correct. And to be more specific, it is a 1,000mg Metformin tablet, which is used to help lower and control blood sugar levels. You can learn more Metformin details here. Are there any questions or comments?

for how long does Jalra 50 bring down the sugar level? can it be taken without doctors prescription? ## Jalra contains the active ingredient Vidagliptin and for better blood sugar control, it's usually taken twice a day, at breakfast and at dinner time. I am not sure if it requires a prescription where you're located, but it does in most countries, since diabetes does require regular medical monitoring. Are there any other questions? You can learn more Vildagliptin details here.
