Dose Of Galvus 50

i used to take metformin 500 daily now it seems to be not working properly as my suger level is exceeding to 400 level now i want to use galvus 50 . what should be the daily dosage for me. i need a medical suggestion in this regard.

I was on metformin 500 twice daily.but now it is not working. my sugar level exceeded 300. i want to use galvus met 50mg/ 500mg.what is the daily dosage and should i continue with metformin 500 and galvusmet50/500
