I take metformin er. I see it in my poop later in the day. I have a lot of diarrha. ## HI, Paty! How are you? Diarrhea is a normal side effect that can happen when taking Metformin. If it's very severe and occurring too frequently, then you should speak to your doctor about it, your medication may need to be adjusted. As to seeing the tablet in your stool, that is also normal. The outer shell actually doesn't dissolve, when you take these controlled release tablets. They use a special release mechanism that's similar to a sponge, it slowly releases the medication into your body by gradually absorbing minuscule amounts of your stomach acid. Once done, the outer shell of the tablet is then expelled as waste. Learn more Metformin ER details here. Please note that this mechanism...

my creatinine has always been normal. The result from 7/1/09 was 1.14. I am a type 2 diabetic with mild-mod hypertension. I take metformin 1000 twice daily, byetta 10 mcg twice daily, diovan 160/12.5 in the am and diovan 80 mg at night. I am really concerned about this sudden rise in my creatinine. Over the past year my levels ranged from 0.7 at the lowest to 0.83 at the highest - and now this reading. I had the study repeated this morning and am waiting for the results. About 1-2 months ago, my BP increased to 160-170's systolic and I was also started on Bystolic 2.5 mg. My pressure has since returned to normal since I stopped using Aleve. I now no longer have to take the Bystolic. The Dr wants me to do a 24 creatinine clearance. I'm really scared that this could be something s...

side effects - possible drug interactions ## This medication is commonly used to treat diabetes, and PCOS/PCOD. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, flatulence, and low blood sugar. The RXP 500 Metformin pills contain: Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, colloidal anhydrous silica, and magnesium stearate; film coating: lactose monohydrate, methylhydroxypropyl cellulose, titanium oxide, and polyethylene glycol. I weigh myself twice weekly, my scale tells me I have gained 4 pounds over a short period. I have been on Metformin 750 for over a year. My concern is this rapid gain. Can anyone tell me about their experience and what they found to keep weight stable. My diet includes fresh fruit , low carb vegetables, some whole grain bread, and whole wheat pasta. I noticed recently though snacking on nuts mixed in dried fruit. ## How rapidly have you gained weight? The NIH does warn that diabetes itself can cause weight changes, however there are other issues that could cause it, as well, such as high blood pressure, edema, or a heart condition. Thus, the safest thing to do would be to have this checked out by your medical provider, for your own safety. How much are you snacking? Some nuts can contai...

Does anybody take invokana and break the pills? I know they are not time released but i dont know if its safe to break them. I have dysphagia and cant swallow. thanks ## Looking at images of the pill, I'd presume that the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the tablet's composition. So since it's not time-released my personal opinion is that it should be fine to divide it into smaller pieces. My reasoning is that this is what would begin to happen naturally anyways as the tablet is metabolized. Time-released meds are different in that regard, but I have no reason to believe that breaking apart an IR drug in such a manner would cause any issues; other than each piece perhaps not being absorbed at the same due to taking it with food - and in this scenario may affect ...

Where can I find this and what type of form is it in..? ## Hi CAW, From what I could gather, DBX-13 is said to be made up of 11 natural ingredients that are each shown to help fight diabetes (by balancing blood sugar levels) without many of the harsh side effects that prescription medications come with. However, the strange part is that I can't find any more information on it other than what is vaguely mentioned above; not even a list of ingredients. This makes me wonder if it's really legitimate or possibly some type of scam. Did you hear about it from a group called "Health Sciences Institute"? ## I think they just want for you to subscribe to the news letter and there is no such thing. What's commonly called false advertising. Should be a law against that. ## Ther...

What are the interactions between Metformin, Amlodipine & Losartan taken together, and is it safe to take these together? ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check to be sure. However, they are commonly prescribed together to treat diabetes, and high blood pressure. The FDA does warn that you may experience more severe side effects than usual, such more severe dizziness, and drowsiness. So, it would be best to be careful about driving, or operating machinery, until you know how they affect you. Have they all been prescribed for you?

I have been taking Jardiance for about 5 weeks now but have had to stop due to thrush that wont go away, I could cope with the thirst and peeing but not this constant thrush, its making me miserable, anyone else experience this and did it go away eventually? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? Actually, that is most likely due to your being diabetic and not due to the medication. Diabetes is well known to cause thrush in women, according to the NIH. It would be best to consult your doctor, since they may be able to prescribe something that will help prevent it, because it is far more dangerous to go off of the medication and let your blood sugar get out of control. Are you on any other medications? ## Hi, I have been diabetic for 6 years, the doctor who prescribed Jardinance did say it would ...
