Anyone had any experience with Viibryd yet? My doc just gave it to me today. Just wondering...

I'm off Viibryd. It did not work for me. Side effects persisted for over a month which the doctor said was unacceptable. It was a sex killer just like any other SSRI. I did not benefit from any of the advantages that are promoted. I had terrible fatigue coming off the drug. Now, its on to another drug. I would not discourage anyone from trying Viibryd. It didn't work for me but it may work great for you.. Good luck.

After being on cymbalta for about a year, Dr. switched me to Vii, it was the worst of idea of my life. The anxiety and panic attacks were unbearable! Please listen, if you have thoughts of wanting to hurt yourself, see the dr ASAP, never had I had these thoughts but I did while on this medication for about 2 months. Hope this helps. I have generlized anxiety disorder am i just started taking vibryd instead of buspar and ativan, i have tried lexapro, zoloft and pristiq (bad experience) my main side effect was sexual, so this is my 3rd week with vibryd and i love it so far, i had a few gi side effects but it is better now, my problem is my INSURANCE company not wanting to pay for it since i have anxiety with only mild depression, i will have to appeal the case to see if they will pay or pay 115 dollars a month for 10mg daily.

Wanted to put my 2 cents in about Viibryd. I started taking it 2 months ago along with Concerta 36mg. Started on 10mg x 2weeks then 20mg x2weeks and yesterday I started on 40mg. I must say in the beginning I felt better. Than one night I woke up around midnight and had a serious panic attack, I thought I was going to die. Lasted a few hours and I was at the point I wanted to call 911 but I have a baby and I was freaking out about who I would call to come watch her. Nothing seemed to get rid of it and I finally popped some Phenergen to knock myself out. After that I felt like I had severe anxiety all the time. I've been depressed and crying, last Saturday I thought I wanted to kill myself. My husband and I recently separated after I found out about an affair he is having at work, but I have never felt that low in all my life. Today I went back to my MD and he is having me switch to zoloft. My anxiety level is thru the roof to where I constantly feel nausceated. I have never really been one to take meds but Viibryd has really scared the living crap out of me. Hope zoloft works.

Does anyone else have a strange sensation while falling to sleep . Its a mixture of a brain zap and something I can't explain. very unpleasant.I'm on Forty mg. I think its too high for me. I want to stop taking it, but the withdrawal scares me, uuuuuuuugh

I know exactly what you are talking about. I was placed on Viibryd for 4 weeks(gradual climb to 40mg),and during that time it absolutely did nothing for me. I was at the end of my rope, and had to be hospitalized. They cut me off of Viibryd cold turkey, and they started Seroquel for bi-polar disorder. The first couple of nights I experienced what you are talking about "Brain Zap" whenever I laid down to go to sleep. Once I fell asleep I didn't experience it again till the next night. But, after a few days of taking Seroquel the Brain Zap dissapeared. Hopefully it does for you to. Very odd sensation.

After several weeks of starting I had the brain zaps. My brain zaps were very scary. Every time I shut my eyes I had them. I had to call my doctor in the middle of the night one night, they would not stop. I even started having them during the day. Viibryd put me into a severe depression also. My husband called my psychiatrist and they had me stop the med. Two weeks after stopping viibryd they put me on trileptal for my anxiety and bi-polar. I feel great now!! I had no withdrawal from viibryd. Good luck!

Hi I just started Vii and have been on Wllbutrin for years. My doctor told me I could not take the Wellbutrin with Vii. I love the Wellbutrin but needed something for anxiety. What dosage is your Wellbutrin? Also have you had any side effects? Weight gain, SSEs, GI issues? Thanks!

I just got off of Viibryd 4 days ago and have already experienced a horrible nightmare. Im hoping to stop taking meds for anxiety but we will see how long that lasts. I started experiencing these brain zaps and feelings I was going to die on Viibryd. Overall I liked the drug but definetly wired side effects from it!

I had been taking Wellbutrin for over 10 years, to the point I wasn't even sure it was doing anything for me. The doc put me on Viibryd, telling me that he has heard many positive things about it. He gave me the 'starter' pack that went from 10-40mg, altho he said many ppl opt to stay on 20 mg and don't go to the 40mg. At first the Vii was a like a miracle for me, I actually was happy again (I had forgotten what that felt like), I was a whole lot more tolerant, things that would normally irritate me suddently didn't phase me. I was liking how I felt so I up'ed my dosage to 40mg. I never related the sudden dreams to the drug but maybe I shouldve. Either way it didn't bother me. My stomach did feel jumpy and I found myself visiting the restroom not long after I ate... despite this, after taking the medication for about 4 months, I became more aware of the bloating I was feeling. Everything on my body felt 'tight' like the day after heavily drinking lol. I didn't like that. Thereafter I noticed my clothes were getting mighty tight, something I never had trouble with before with Wellbutrin. The bloating, the weight gain was enough to make me want to get off the Vii, but that in addition to the lack of sexual interest or gratification made me call my Dr. and tell him I wasn't taking Vii anymore and was going back to Wellbutrin. At least with the Wellbutrin I never gained weight or felt bloated and I certainly was able to enjoy sex. I feel disappointed because I liked my personality much more while on the Viibryd, I like the fact I was so tolerant, non-chalant, smiled more, etc., but the bad in the end outweighed the good about it and so I'm back to Wellbutrin. I notice that my depression has increased about 30-40% again, but no longer feel bloated, I've lost a few pounds without trying, and my sex drive is back to normal. I wish I could find a drug that has the benefits of both drugs put together without the negative that Viibryd brought.

By the way.. my appitite has remained steady. No increase or decrease. I am pleased with my weight of 150 and 5'10". I hope it stays betweeb 150-160. I will keep updating as I continue viibyrd. God bless.

I have just taken my 7th 10 mg pill today. I'm still having diarrhea along with stomach pain, I'm experiencing dizziness and lack of energy. I started having very fast, blunt out of nowhere shooting pains in my feet and legs yesterday. I'm wondering if I should start taking 20 mg tomorrow as my doctor told me to but I'm scared that my side effect symptoms may worsen.

Viibryd warning: Legal action is in the works due to it causing SLEEP PARALYSIS & other serious side effects. Especially a severe form of discontinuation syndrome!!! Forest Labs (now under a new name?) refuses to acknowledge the sleep paralysis, but it is a problem for many. More to come!

you need to step down. 40mg was too high for me. This terrible effect is better at 30mg but I would like to get down to 20. Also, I do think that taking with solid food especially bread is helpful.

Libido hit like crazy the 1st mo. It wasnt normal. I felt weird...like I had taken Viagra!!!

It should work right away to make you feel happier & energetic. Stay on the dose pack though & I'd stop at 30. Just incase it's the 40 that causes the SP.
