Deplatt-cv Side Effects (Thread 218977)
UpdatedFor 6 months I visited my doctor who did angioplasty for me. On the 6th month my doctor prescribed me DEPLATT-CV (one capsule a day). On both of my legs below the ankle swelling occurs. Is it because of this capsule administered to me? It contains Atorvastatin which was discontinued by my doctor earlier due to the same problem (now experienced in legs) in my palm and fingers. In my case, I feel that the Atorvastatin component in DEPLATT-CV is the reason behind it. Has anyone else been met with such a problem before? Please reply.

Deplatt-CV contains Aspirin, Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel, it is used to prevent clotting, thin the blood and reduce cholesterol.
And yes, the Atorvastatin could cause the edema/fluid retention that you are experiencing.
One thing you can do, on your own, to try and reduce it is to lower the amount of sodium you are taking in, by watching your diet. The human body really only requires about 500mgs a day and most of us take in way more than that. High sodium levels can contribute to fluid retention.
You should also consult with your doctor, because reducing the dosage, or adding a medication, such as a diuretic may help alleviate the problem.

Yes, my father seems to have the same problem.
Please let me know if these skin rashes are due to Atorvastatin or Clopidogrel. And what substitute should we take instead of this?
I have been taking it for the past year for prostate enlargement, once a day. Corvadil-a once a day and Astorvas 20 once a day. I had a stroke 10 years back. 80% teqyluiped. Now I'm experiencing severe back pain. I was also taking Clopivas-75. Please advise whether I should continue all the above meds?
I've been taking Deplatt cv 75 mg for the last 2 years. Earlier i used to take playgrill 150 mg. In 2005 i had an episode of pulmonary embolism and was on warfarin for 6 months. My doctor said to continue Diplatt cv for life. Shall I discontinue? Please advise ASAP.
My father is taking it for the treatment of Broca's aphasia since 2 months ago. I want to know if there are any side effects after taking it for long periods?
Kindly advise if it's safe for a 74 year old diabetic heart patient to take Deplatt CV for any length of time? Say 1 year to 3 years?
I've been taking deplatt cv for 2 years. I have to go under for cataract surgery tomorrow morning, but if I have taken deplatt cv, will that present any problems?
