Daliresp Experience (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been on Daliresp for one month. I have noticed significant improvement in my lungs. By that I mean the mucus is gone, wheezing is gone. My lungs seem to be getting clear and do not feel as heavy as they did before I started taking it. I have had my bouts of depression, I am never hungry, which is a problem because I am underweight as it is. Just wondering if anyone else has had success with this drug. I was hoping to get off oxygen at some point. Don't know if I can achieve that or not.

Ela:
Thanks for the information on weight. I agree that when I try and eat alot, it makes my breathing harder and still does not increase my weight at all. I hope you father can get on Daliresp. It is very good and most of the time I don't even feel like I have COPD anymore. The side effects are not that bad really. I do not notice anything anymore. Just takes awhile to get used to the drug. Again...good luck.

Hi Ela:
I am with you on the stem cell thing. I cannot understand why the FDA will not approve therapies that are proven to help people. I guess they feel the pressure from the big drug companies. My doctor talked to me for two years about Daliresp before it finally got released. And..the bad part is that our insurance will not pay for it. Give your dad a hug for me. I know he will feel much stronger after taking Daliresp. It gets rid of all the mucus. I have not been sick one day since I started taking it in May. The worst part for me initially was the anxiety and insomnia, but gone in a month
Take care,
Darlene

I do agree with the fact that the drug does things for your mental health that are not pleasant. I have not had a COPD episode in 14 months, but am depressed all the time, cannot eat and just feel pretty useless as a human being. My feelings are easily hurt and I don't feel like I am part of anything anymore.

It's a strange drug. I had side effects for a month at the beginning, but they were all physical. I actually feel like it helps my mood. I am more optimistic, not depressed at all. Let's hope something new comes along soon that may help those that are having trouble with Daliresp. I am very happy with it, but I know not everyone else is.

Hi. My mother in law was just given Daliresp today by her pulminoligist. I really hope it helps. I was wondering if it would be better to take it in the morning or evening. Please advise. Thank you , Michelle

I take it in the morning. I don't believe there is a specified time, but you could check with the manufacturer.

I take mine every morning. There will probably be side effects for about a month. It is a tough drug to get used to. But..I have been sympton free for 14 months. That is how long I have been taking it. It has been that long since I have been sick. Just hang in there - it is really good.

Please let me know how this works for him, I as scared of it, started to take half but chickened out. I used to not be so scared of medicines but as I've gotten older I hate taking a new med. Thanks!

Well I took 1/2 of the Daliresp today so we will see how it goes. I'm off now to get busy and get it off my mind. Thank you all so much for information and have a really great day.

This is my 2nd try to take Daliresp. I take it in the evening after I eat. I have lost a little weight but I needed to. Other than bouts of diarreah (sp?), I am doing much better tolerating it.

Good to hear. I would bet all side effects would be gone soon. It took me a month, but then I had no further problems.

I wonder if it would be better taking it at night, I believe Liz said she did that, I think if I had the leg pain in the day it would be lots better than at night. I don't know just wondering.

I just felt like I had a bad case of the intestinal flu for a month plus a headache. I could barely eat. Spent a lot of time in the bathroom for sure. I plunged right in though and took the full dose from the get go. I took it in the morning without food. It's hard to not give up, but I know of no one who has had any lasting side effects. They go away.

Has anyone noticed any dental problems after being on Daliresp? I have been taking it now for well over a month and I've noticed severe sensitivity in my teeth. I am trying to find out why this has suddenly started.

I haven't heard of that being a side effect. I have sensitive teeth and use a toothpaste recommended for sensitive teeth which helps a lot.

I have been taking Daliresp for three months. I am amazed at how much it has helped my breathing. I am still experiencing some of the side effects, mostly diarrhea, I am retired so it is more of an inconvenience than anything. I have many restless nights but I attribute that to other medicines that I am taking. I had panic attacks before I started taking Daliresp but they have gone away, maybe due to another medication that has been prescribed. I have lost 11 pounds since using Dalirest and I find that a blessing since I am overweight. I take it in the morning and I have had good luck doing so.

Been on Daliresp for about 4 mo.s now and can see a definite improvement in my breathing. I have lost about 12 - 15 lbs. but that's a good thing. Only problem now is insomnia and I take Melatonin that seems to help.

You might try taking Melatonin as the another person said they were doing. I take 1 500mg capsule about 30 minutes before I go to bed.
