Hello! I was previously prescribed Cyproheptadine to maintain my weight. I was first prescribed this...I want to say a year ago. I was prescribed the 4 mg tablet and to take one tablet four times a day. I read online that this can cause complications with drug tests and can sometimes result in a false positive because of it. I was curious how long this medication typically stays in your system? It has been over a week since I have taken the med and I also did not take four times a day as prescribed because of side effects. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Can a nursing mother take cyproheptadine? ## Hello, Rose! How are you? From what I've found, yes, it can be taken, but the FDA reports that some nursing infants have experienced irritability and drowsiness, when exposed to such medications via the breastmilk. I use the pill cypro it help me gain weight. I used it for my hay fever ad well I put on 7lbs slowly. But I have gained about 15lbs so far.it's. Not so bad. ## Hello, Margaret! How are you? This medication shouldn't be used just to gain weight, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so. And I have no information on whether or not it will affect reproduction. How much do you weight, how tall are you and what is your age? ## I use it daily. Three times a day I gain weight on this pill i believe. In it.. It will make you drowsy but that will go away with time.

My son weight 89 pounds no appetite and he's paralyzed from the waist down so the pills will work for him ## Hello, Janice! How are you? In your son's case, you shouldn't give him anything, without his doctor's approval. His health is still very fragile and the slightest misstep could be a disaster. What other medications is he taking? How far underweight is he? The FDA classifies this medication as an antihistamine and its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. ## I gained weight from taking the pill. But everyone is different. I don't think it would hurt to try, they will make you drowsy. But that will go away in time.

The Metadata is a stimulant and the Cyproheptadine can cause drowsiness, that's all that I've found listed, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. Hi my son is 14 years old. He's into sports but he doesn't gain weight at all. He'll have an appetite here and there and he doesn't get much sleep. Can he take cyproheptadine to help him eat more to gain a lil weight and to get more rest? ## Hello, Locks! How are you? At that age, it would be best not to give him anything, unless his doctor approves. Giving him the wrong thing could have serious consequences. As listed by the FDA, the weight gain caused by Cyproheptadine is also just a temporary side effect, it will eventually wear off and go away entirely, especially when someone stops taking it. It sounds like his doctor needs to evaluate him, anyway, to see what's causing these issues. When was his last physical?

White round pill with the letters COT(the t actually looks like an upside down L) inscribed over 150 with a break line in between. ## Is it possible it says COR 150? I have been taking cyproheptadine and dexamethasone for more than 15 years. I took 52 mgs of cyproheptadine in one dose. I didn't know it caused weight gain. I don't want to gain weight just wanted to sleep. If I stop now will I still gain the unwanted weight? And when will it leave my body? Mine were 90 Spironolactone white oblong pills. Glad I looked this up and didn't take it.

Is practin a steroid? I found a vile & syringes in my ex husbands stuff. He is not under weight so I'm wondering why he would be taking it. ## Hello, Jenn! How are you?
