Cyclobenzaprine 10mg Tablet

My gp prescribed me 50 mgs amitrypteline one at night is this a muscle relaxant ! only the only time i havent got this awfull burnin ache on the side of my right shoulder and neck is wen i am asleep i have had lots of treatment for it by my pain clinic ! but nothing seems to work ! its taken my life over can anyone help me plz! as before i retired i was an auxiliary nurse and loved my job looking after all my patients! and now i feel useless and cant handle this trapped nerve any more !!

Amitriptyline is actually a tricyclic antidepressant and these medications have also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain.

Side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, weight changes and headache.

I have been prescribed amitryptleine along with an antidepressant celexa,and I take them at night only as they tend to cause drowiness,,that way I can be able to function the next day,,I too was a hostage to pain,,but my primary doctor also prescribed narco along with the 2 I listed above,,I suffer from muscular pain all over and they seem to work well together,,I am so happy I have a great doctor that actually takes his time to listen to my complaints,,that is the only way he can get to the root of my problem,,,try finding a doctor that will listen and run tests and will actually get to the root of your pain distress,,,rule of thumb,,if yur visit to the dr,is less yhan 3 mins then u need to move on and find a doc that will take the time to listen to you,,,hope I was some help..

I take those too. It was once used as a psych med, but now they use it for pain. The pill knocks you out so you couldn't tell if you were in pain or not. I cut mine in half so I can wake up around 8 am. If not it will be around 12 before I can fully function.
