Do I have to go to a pain mgt clinic to get started on the strips? I just bought 5 from a friend for $50 . . Trying to avoid taking ocycotin, which is why I'm trying to get script. .I live in the Dallas TX area so. . . Also, how much should I take daily? I took one 8mg strip when I got to five earlier, but my friend says I could cut em in half? Thx for your posts..Rod

Your story inspired me to try to get help with the cost of my suboxone. If you have anymore information on how to go about it id greatly appreciate it. Also, when I first started my suboxone treatment, they saw my psych evaluations and we're writtings me 3, 2mg alprazolam daily. They worked a miracle, the constant worry and floating thoughts quietend down and for the first time since "My trauma" I actually stopped shaking and twitching. Then, my suboxone dr. Tells me he can't write them for me anymore, because they also prescribe methadon there and a new law prohibits them from writting benzodiazepines from the same establishment that writes methadon. My quality of life has been horrible sense, I lost my job over the anxiety attacks and everything. My 2 little girls are worried and wonder what's wrong with daddy. If i go to a separate psychiatrist that doesn't write methadon in your opinion would that be best step? Or if you have any information please share back, and thank you so much.

Your friend is correct when saying you can cut in half or quarters pending on your previous regimen. Take into consideration the art of pills, type of pill and the strength. Less is better......good luck. Also if your friend did not advise you with how to take subs make sure not to drink while film dissolves and then wait ten minutes until you consume any fluids so you get the best absorption and results.

You can search for a clinic in Your area. The State or County might have some sort of out patient program. I had a Dr. who specialized in this specialty field. He charged $50.00 a visit. After a few months I was able to go every other month. Warning drug panels are highly likely nowadays so be serious about this or else you will be dropped and that will not be a good recursive if at any future time you are serious about kicking.

BellaBlue,

I think it's dangerous to be advising on modification's to the original dosage forms and instructing on how this medication should be administered .MOST FIND IT ADVISABLE FOR A LICENSED MEDICAL PROVIDER TO DISPENSE SUCH INFORMATION ON THESE POWERFUL NARCOTICS

Hello. First off I just wanted to mention that I do not have insurance and pay $190 cash each month to see a doctor who doesn't even ask how I'm doing and writes the script.

NOW, in terms of pricing. If you can get your doc to write the script for the 8mg generic tabs, you can get them for $4.50 a pop at CVS using an Rx Savings Card.

I get 30 8mg generic subs for around $125 with no insurance. Adding in the doctors visit - in total I am looking at $10 for each pill when factoring in the cost of doctors visit. Hope this helps!

Hope everyone is doing well. A tip I'm sure is not knowledge tossed around normally but I became friends with the pharmacist I used. And after a few months she told me to go online and print the voucher and it will be a solid mark off. I thought probably like everyone else when they see those bupe ads that it's just corporate click bait. But sure enough 10 seconds on the website generated a code. I printed - She punched it in the system (Duane Reade) and now I save $75 every month on name brand films. I would've never believed it would work unless she insisted. Give it a shot. Literally suboxone.com. Can't hurt.

If you're seeking xanax or "alprazolam" you would have to see another doctor and not mention you take suboxone. Since they say, and in some cases I can understand, that you're not supposed to mix xanax and Suboxone. My doctor considered dropping me because I had been prescribed a low dose of Kolonpin... He said, "Absolutely no benzos!" And another doctor a friend gets subs from gives drug panels strictly for benzos. Very few half-a** legit doctors will not write one knowing you take the other. Anything I say you can take to the bank, I've unfortunately ran the gauntlet as far as doctors, suboxone, adderall, etc etc etc.

A 12 mg strip looks just like an 8, but it's 1.5x bigger, you almost have to cut it in half, they are huge, comes in same sub wrapper but it's orange where the 8mg wrappers are blue

You are true in the fact that first off benzos and opiates are probably the worst thing to mix especially if u don't know what u are doing. But to respond to your question, u just haven't met the right Dr who treats u like a patient and not an addict. Plus developing a good trustful relationship with your doc, is more important than anything (knowing what to say to get what u want, doesn't hurt either). I'd been with the same sub doc for about 2 years at the time, who even writes me subutex for insurance purposes. He ain't the doc either to just say hello and make sure your 12 panel checks out. He'll sit there and talk if u have any problems. But anyway I can honestly say I'm prescribed #75 8mg subutex, #60 1mg k-pins and #60 30mg IR Addy's, for the last year. So its a combination of a bunch of things. But there are legit sub Dr's out there. I now get the klonopins and Addy's from a psychiatrist who is better versed in psych meds. But once u got those diagnosis's on record, the hard part was just finding a psych doc taking new patients. But building a trustful relationship with the right addiction Dr and either needing those other drugs or just knowing what to say does take years of practice. Most importantly is finding the addiction Dr that will treat u as a patient and not an addict. Those in my experience are the Dr's that are in recovery themselves and know what your going through and a total crazy legit or bulls*** story could actually be true.

Anyone in the Tampa Fl area want a Dr like this, write me back and we can chat. By the way since I've been on the other controls as well as my subutex. I've weaned myself down from 75 subutex to 15 a month and still haven't even filled my last 3 paper scripts dating back to march (but will fill all 225 before they expire after 6 months, which CIII's paper scripts do here in FL). Take the klonopins only as needed and always have at least 30 left over every month. But I do take Addy's as prescribed daily. Since this an honest chat. I have run a few days short on Addy's before but FL let u fill controls every 28 instead of 30 days like other states. But anyway to answer your question. Even though most addiction Dr's do frown down on benzos, if u persistent that anxiety is affecting your life, job, just well being in general, they probably won't start u on a benzo (which in my experience don't even mention xanax because the stigma and looks like drug seeking). Let them choose and Kpins seem to be a favorite & technically stronger, just don't hit u hard as xanax, but last a hell of alot longer and can be just as effective as long as u time everything correctly.

I compare em to xanax xr, but that's just me and my body and come to find out there are more and more people choosing dem klonopins over bars these days. But they'll most likely put u on some BS AD like Paxil whose suppose to work best with anxiety. U might have to just deal for like 3-4 months until they'll give in with a benzo. But make sure u know SSRI's take a month to just start taking effect (for those unlike me they've actually done s***). So don't go in a month later demanding something else. They'll treat u different if u are willing to give there medical "expertise in drug choosing" a try. There are Dr's out there that know just cause u had an opiate issue (especially if caused by an injury and over-prescribing by a greedy pain MGMT Dr) they out there. I just got lucky with my 3rd different 1 in as many different states.

Hey just moved to the Tampa FL area from Long Island NY. Looking for a legit sub dr but have no clue who to go to down here. I moved here to get out of the lifestyle and truly want to recover this go around. Please, if there's any info you could give me, I'd truly appreciate it. I found some Drs online but don't know whose legit and whose not. I have no insurance right now and will be paying cash. Been to sub Drs in NY before but ended up not doing the right thing - every addict knows how that goes! Please hit me back for some help. Thanks so much!

Go to suboxone.com - There is a coupon you show the pharmacist that will save you half ($170). Good luck.

I am on Medicare because I am disabled and I get extra help paying for my prescriptions. I pay only 8.25 for 90 4mg film each month. In fact I only pay that for any of my tier 5 medications.

Ask your doctor for a discount card from the company that makes Suboxone. It makes a dramatic difference. You can also go to:

suboxone.com/treatment-plan/savings-card

Fill out the info and save your card info to your phone. Hope this helps and best of luck on your recovery.

I have been disabled for many years now and was on pain medication for so may years. The only insurance I had was Medicaid and not too many suboxone clinics take it. Anyway, I found a clinic that takes Medicaid and have no out of pocket expense at this place. Started my first week allowing one and a half per day. Yesterday he raised me to 2 per day and don't think I can take that much but we will see. I am not going to sell them because I like my freedom too much. But best advice I can give is to get online and search for Dr's or clinics that help people get what they need. I know each state is different but every state should have a few places that will help with cost and treatment.
