Combizar Side Effects

I've been taking Combizar for quite sometime now to control my BP. Few weeks later, I experienced joint pain in toes and ankles.

Combizar contains the active ingredient Losartan, it is an ARB used to help treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions.

These medications have been known to cause an increase in uric acid levels in the body, which can result in gout.

Have you contacted your doctor, yet?

This is probably not the right medication for you and you will need to be switched to something else.

is it ok to combine combizar 50mg to metformin , i was diagnose with high blood sugar, i am also hypertensive taking combizar as my maintenance, but the doctor change it to captopril , i've read that the side effect of captopril is cough, i'm experiencing cough for almost a month now , so i want stop captopril and take combizar intead. please advise. Thank you.

Beth, there are no interactions listed between the Losartan in the Combizar and Metformin, but you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain.

And if you are having that cough, then yes, you should probably be switched to something else. I experienced that from a medication I was on and it is very annoying.

Have you discussed switching medications with your doctor? It does need to be done carefully, because stopping a blood pressure medication, such as the Captopril can result in rebound effects, which can elevate your blood pressure to dangerous levels. So, the dosage of a new medication has to be carefully considered, to help prevent that. Sometimes it requires a slightly higher dose for the first few weeks and then it can be lowered afterwards.

Been taking combizar 2x a day almost two (2) months but early on this week,my back has been aching like its been hit by a paddle. Does combizar have anything to do with this pain? Need your help. Thanks.

I wrongly took double dose of combizar. may I know the result? am diabetic but not taking metformin.

I am taking losartan + amlodipine now because it is what my doctor suggested. Later, i was given losartan + hydro.......by our doctor in the company i work. Are they the same?

I am using a Combizar for a month whenever only if my BP rise but sometimes I feel difficulty in breathing or easily get tired and have head ache. Is this the effect?

I am prescribed with combizar 10mg as maintiance. I am not expwriencing pains in my finfers which i believe is gout. I also have a pacemaker. Thansk
