Problem is it keeps me a wake,I'm so tired but can't sleep, I dozed a couple times but had bad nightmares. I have some codeine from a arm injury would it be ok to switch to it and stop the hydroco.? ## Hello, Missy2ell! How are you? You should check with your dentist, before switching. The Codeine is a very mild narcotic, so it may not be enough to help your pain. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, there are other alternatives that they can prescribe. Is there anything else I can help with?
Molar extracted today. Allergic to codeine so prescribed this instead. Woke up in middle of night now by intense itching and tiny hives from head to toe. Even itches inside ears and rims of eyes. Should I be worried about it? Obviously will immediately discontinue use. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? I'm very sorry about the allergic reaction. You should have this checked out, to be sure. But it does sound like you're having an allergic reaction to this medication. And please discontinue it, such reactions tend to get worse with repeated exposure to the allergen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I wanted to know if there was a difference between codeine and codone? And which is stronger the white round 2065v4 or the Orange oval 3605v? ## Hello, Murnda! How are you? It's actually Codeine and Hydrocodone, so yes, they are different, though both are narcotics. These tablets are manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals and they list the one with the 2065 on it as containing 60mgs of Codeine and 300mgs of Acetaminophen, while the one with the 3605 marking contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Codeine is a rather weak opiate, so they Hydrocodone is much stronger. Along with being habit forming, their typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?
Hello. I've been taking 100mg daily of Tramodol as directed by my physician for the past 2 years. I was traveling abroad recently and suffered from horrible migraines that lasted multiple days. A local pharmacist gave me a medication that helped, but it has 8mg codeine in it. If I have been taking both tramodol and codeine, how will it show up on a drug test? It's either a 10, 12 or 14 panel test, so it could be pretty thorough. Thanks in advance for any help.

green n white pill after seizure ## Hello, Dan! How are you? Are you sure it was a narcotic? They aren't usually given for seizures. Off the top of my head, Codeine is a narcotic that starts with a C, it's a very mild one and has been available for many years. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Benzodiazepines are sometimes given for seizures, in that case, it could have been Clonazepam. It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

My story is this had a concussion on 6-6-14, got into a car wreck on 6-11-14, showed 1500 nano grams of Codeine in my urine, hit my head on stirring wheel was pretty dazed and confused. I have been taking Tylenol 3 (1x 4 a day) for over 3 years. Wouldn't the concussion and the knock on the stirring wheel make me dazed and confused? I mean the fact that I have been taking them so long and never had a problem before. ## Ok more detail. I live in SD, I am 5'7 125 lbs. Never been off my pillow count. Never had a legal or illegal problem (do not take illegal drugs or smoke cigs or pot). They say that is a lot of codeine for a person taking it 4 times a day. Doesn't anyone know anything about the affects of 1500 nano grams of ...
Can you die (overdose) on this Medication ? If so, how many pills will kill you and how many can you take max in a day to be safe ? ## You can overdose on any medication if you take too much of it. The greatest danger in this one is actually the Acetaminophen, taking too much of it in a day has the potential to be fatally toxic. The recommend daily maximum is 3,000mgs. Going over the risks liver damage and failure. The Codeine is a mild narcotic and it's maximum daily dose is only 120mgs, This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You should, therefore, not take more than your doctor has prescribed. Is there anything else I can help with?

So exactly one week ago, I took 4 ounces of cough syrup with a friend. It did not have codeine or anything in it. I was wondering if it would be out of my urine by this monday because I may or may not be getting drug tested. I know it shows up if there's opiates in your urine, but I did not have codeine in the syrup for it to show up as an opiate. Anyways, i was wondering if 11 days (which is what it would be) is long enough to have it out of my urine, if it even shows up. Everything I've read online says it should long be out of it, but just wanted to ask.

when my mom had her appendix out, the dr. gave her a round, yellow pain reliever that started with an N. She is in extreme pain now, and the dr's office said it will take 5 days to get her records out of storage from 2010. It was not a codone, oxi, or anything of that nature because she is allergic to codeine. I want to say it as "nu" something. Does anyone know of a yellow, round pain reliever of this sort? Thank you. ## Hello, Kdex! How are you? There is a round, yellow Nucynta tablet that contains the narcotic Tapentadol and it would have been around at that time, since it was approved in 2008.
