Hi my dentist gave me hydroco/acetamin for a bad tooth. Problem is it keeps me a wake,I'm so tired but can't sleep, I dozed a couple times but had bad nightmares. I have some codeine from a arm injury would it be ok to switch to it and stop the hydroco.?

You should check with your dentist, before switching. The Codeine is a very mild narcotic, so it may not be enough to help your pain.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
However, there are other alternatives that they can prescribe.
