Clonazepam Ingredients Mylan Brand Vs Teva Vs Accord (Page 10) (Top voted first)

Updated

Please help with this, i have taken the mylan brand for several years, when the pharmacy could no longer order it they ordered Teva, it immediately gave me pains that seemed to be in my chest....kind of the opposite of what it's supposed to do. So with Mylan being available though only two pharmacies, someone mentioned accord...but what is the difference of fillers. could you simply list all the ingredients for all three brands so if Accord matches Mylan i'm ok?

Re: Connie (# 103) Expand Referenced Message

Hey Connie I honestly don’t believe that the Mylan brand was weaker. I currently have to take two pills of everything else that I have compared to the one pill of Mylan. My mother only takes clonazepam to sleep at night, and they recently put her on the Accord brand, and she says they do nothing for her at all. Herself and two other people I know that take it say the Mylan is definitely better for them. So I personally think overall that Mylan are just more effective for the treatment of anxiety than the other brands. That’s just my experience though. Don’t know which one is truly stronger or weaker, but effectiveness, hands down Mylan wins.

Teva sold out everywhere they're sold. I understand telling the FDA about bad side effects, It's not made here but the distribution is here. See if insurance will work with your doctor. I will pray for brand name Klonopin. Good luck.

Btw. I think you’re part of a small group according to this thread that liked the Mylan Clonazepam. They didn’t work for me and from this thread they worked for few. I’m trying to decide now on what day I should flush the remainder of these Mylan that I paid good money for.

Welcome to my world. I found Northstar which is tolerable (barely) and now it is disc. So I am about to switch to brand Klonopin! Trying to get my insurance to cover more of the cost. As it is I am charged a huge penalty for getting name brand (by my insurance). If not I guess I won't get much for Christmas!

Re: Bill (# 111) Expand Referenced Message

For you. Why is it no better? At least it will be stable and you will know what you are getting. Whether it works like the disc. one you are used to is another thing..........

Re: Hurt (# 125) Expand Referenced Message

I agree. Don't start them. I wish I had known that 28 years ago; that it would be so hard to get off of or even reduce the dose. I was just following my doctors instructions. When the dose was raised a few years ago, I became content to be in bed or my recliner most of the time even If I was having a good day! So I decided to reduce the dose! HA! Surprise! I was in flare before I knew it! Then the "one" that was working at a lower dose was disc. and boom ! my brain has been jerked around by every generic available. Thing is if I find one that works , will it be on the market next week? So I'm going to BRAnd to reduce my dose and possibly ween off it with little help on price from my insurance company!

Re: Connie (# 126) Expand Referenced Message

The name brand for me was either 85.00 cash or if my insurance payed for it it was considered a tier 4 drug so my copay would be 80. So 80 or 85 it ain’t worth it. I’ve had name brand which really ain’t name brand cause it made by a subsidiary company Genentech and its no better maybe worse then Actavis. The two different scripts I’ve had filled have been similar if not the same in strength as the previous refill

Re: Connie (# 128) Expand Referenced Message

Also check GoodRx for the cash price. Just cause you have insurance that doesn’t mean you have to wait for approval. You can take the GoodRx coupon to the pharmacy and pay cash.

Re: Jimmy (# 132) Expand Referenced Message

Yes it would be hard. Many countries do research and have strong pharmaceutical sectors. What you suggest would deny new meds to people in the USA based upon their geographic origin.

By they way you cannot just "appropriate," some other country's patents, and produce their "stuff," over here.

Patents are international in nature as well.

Yeah, Goodrx didn't help much with Brand Name Klonopin.

Re: Connie (# 134) Expand Referenced Message

Neither does insurance. It’s a tier 4 drug so it’s the highest copay you have

Re: Kathie (# 135) Expand Referenced Message

I think the only viable substitution close to Teva is Actavis. Every CVS around carries it like they did Teva before

Re: Connie (# 134) Expand Referenced Message

It also depends on if you take it multiple times of day or just one a day like me. It was only $5 difference

They don't make Teva anymore. They sold their company to Actavis

Ryan, I thought it was the other way around? I thought that Teva acquired Actavis generics back in 2016. Has anything changed since then?

What difference does it make? Teva branded Clonazepam pills are no longer made.

Re: Barbie 616 (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

My Walmart here in South Texas gave me Accord Healthcare this last time I picked up my prescription. But through the outside of the orange bottle, it looked just like the Teva brand. I take 2mg tablets of Teva normally. But when I got home and looked at them closely, which I always do to make sure they give me the right medication, I noticed the different letter and number imprints. I checked on a pill identifier app, and it turned out to be Accord Healthcare, which got me really upset because I knew there was a chance it would not work well with me. Sure enough, it turned out to be more like a placebo. Well, the pharmacist at Walmart told me that on my next refill I can call about 5 days before I run out and request that they specifically order the 2mg Clonazepam Teva brand for me and they'll do it. I don't know about up north. But the Walmarts down here will do that.

Re: Carolann (# 144) Expand Referenced Message

Unfortunately Mylan did in fact discontinue Clonazepam and Ativan as of June 2018. Whatever is left will be short lived unfortunately. I’ve called and contacted them on numerous occasions to ask them to please consider reversing their decision. I was told that they are discontinuing 1/3 of their current products.

Re: Openminded (# 146) Expand Referenced Message

Glad to hear it worked out for you as well it's definitely a superior medication from my perspective. The anxiety will definitely come back if you stop taking it but keep in mind that's the case with any medication. In a few days you will start to feel the medication working better but wont have terrible withdrawals like with some of the other medications.
