Clonazepam 0.5 Mg Teva Vs Accord (Page 5)

Updated

I recently received Teva clonazepam and it worked great. Two weeks ago, I received clonazepam from Accord Pharmaceuticals and it was like a placebo pill. Has anyone taken this medicine By Accord and have you noticed a serious difference with it not helping? I've never had a generic never work before. I don't know what to do. All pharmacies in my area are now going with Accord Pharmaceuticals because it's cheaper. Help with an answer please.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 80) Expand Referenced Message

2 days and I was feeling worse. Knew I didn't feel quite right after the first day. Almost feels like I am in withdrawal. My prescriptions says take 1/2 to one. I am going to try taking a full tablet tonight. I have read that it may be how you metabolize the drug, as each company can use different ingredients to get the drug to uptake in your system. Apparently mine only likes whatever Accord uses. Maybe I am not getting enough uptake with the Klonopin. All I know is I feel terrible!

Re: Kone (# 81) Expand Referenced Message

My body went through a withdrawal after going off Accord. I tried all other generic brands and finally had to pay for the real thing. I don’t even feel as good on that. My body wants Accord!

Where on earth did you find Accord? I’m so jealous. Can’t wait til it returns! I’m even on the brand name and it just isn’t the same.

I hear ya. Why is Accord so good? Even better than the real thing! Maybe the fillers. My body loves it!

Mine too. They say in the other ingredients is the mechanism for you to absorb it, and the different manufacturers can use different ones. Apparently our bodies only likes what accord uses. I called Accord today to ask about when it would be back. They said they get numerous calls a day from people that can only use accord, so we are not the only ones. They need FDA clearance to ship again. They have to satisfy some requirements at their plants that were in violation. Clonazepam is in shortage, so hoping to get that back sooner, but will not even know a date it will be available again until October sometime. Said to call back in October and they might know when.

I was able to get a ten month supply set aside for me thankfully. It’s all they had left. I cut the pills in half and they filled a 90 day for me so that’s 180 pills and they said they can do 60 days for my refill and will hold that bottle for me until then for my refill. They said they just got their supply a month ago from their wholesaler. No idea how they even did that. But they said they put an alert in their system that if accord becomes available anywhere from their supplier list it will notify them. If I were you I’d find a local mom and pop where they are more apt to work for you this way and ask them to do this for you. I’d assume the ten months I have will take me to when the med is back online. That’s next June. My calls let me to believe accord was thinking end of year hopefully. But obviously there can be delays.

I have been so long without the Accord that October does not seem very far away for relief.

Re: Lynne (# 88) Expand Referenced Message

What brand are you using now? Did you get used to it? I just switched to the non generic Klonopin, and feel shaky yet and somewhat depressed. I am prescribed 1/2 to 1 tablet of .5 MG. I always took 1/2 never more. I tried a full tablet last night. Feel a little better, but not good like I did on Accord never thought I needed more, and had been on it for 10 years. I feel like my body is going through withdrawal from the Accord. Just wondering if others felt that way, and if it went away.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 78) Expand Referenced Message

I am taking the brand name since Teva SoCo are junk. I have to cut iTunes half but stamped with a K I am losing half a pill to crumbling. Not getting a good dose. I’ve tried several pill cutters. This is horrible. I heard coming back in January. Now it’s October? I hope it is!

Re: Salgal (# 90) Expand Referenced Message

They said they will know the date they will release in October, but not coming back then. Probably your date of January is more realistic of when they will be back. October is when they will tell you what the actual date of release will be.

Kone (# 91) --

Yeah they'll know more in Oct/Nov, and when I pressed for a release date they said probably not until the end of the year or beginning of next. I said but definitely not a year and they said oh no most definitely sooner than that. But she said don't quote me on that because we just don't know. The lab got a letter a week ago saying they hadn't satisfied the requirements from the failed inspection and had 15 days to respond as to what they were gonna do. The letter said if Intas Lab was unable to meet this deadline or anticipated further disruptions to their production that would cause a failure to meet demand, to let the FDA know. So a lot still seems to be in flux. There are those 24 drugs that are exempt from the import ban that was thrown on Intas, and Clonazepam is one of them, but I know they are prioritizing chemo drugs first to return, not sure how long the unrolling of the rest will take. I think there's a lot in flux still which is why they can't say anything for sure.

I would hope the FDA makes an easy path for shortage drugs like ours to come back in the mean time. Teva is even allocating supply at this time and almost nobody I know is getting Solco/or Advagen, a few are getting brand name, but it seems like Teva is 80% or more of what people take these days. So getting Accord back is a major priority for sure. Fingers crossed. Not sure if my other post went through, but I luckily secured a 90 day rx which I cut in half so that gives me 180 days (6 months) in my possession. They set aside the remaining 60 pills they have in the bottle for me at the pharmacy and said they will not give it to anyone else (its a mom and pop), which will give me another 2 month Rx in Nov that will last me an additional 120 days. So I have a 10 month buffer, I'm hoping to God that lasts long enough to get Accord back. Any luck at any local pharmacies anyone? I thought I posted this last night but it must have not gone through, but local pharmacies source differently than big box stores, they have other smaller distributors that may have supply.

Box stores like CVS and Walmart have rapid turnover in inventory with their suppliers so Accord is long gone, slower volume niche suppliers obviously still have it here and there since my pharmacist bought their bottle last month. They checked again and its not available at the moment. They put an alert on their computer to let them know if it becomes available and they will get auto notified and call me right away and set it aside for me. Honestly, I think this is the only way guys for now. Shop local mom and pops everywhere, go in and talk to them, tell them your situation. They listen differently, they have options that big chains don't. Let me know how you all make out. So far back on Accord for 5 days. Feel more like myself, maybe 40-50%, but still can't shake the side effects/destabilization that Teva and a liquid compound did to me. I imagine there is a healing/transition period back over.

Salgal, who told you January? From this board or did Accord tell you?

Re: mikeyjoed (# 93) Expand Referenced Message

SoCo is crap. Crumbling before you even get it in your mouth. I’m just hoping I find Accord. Can’t get it yet anyway because of the controlled substance database. You can only get so many pills in an allotted time. Big brother knows what’s best for us! NOT. FDA is a joke

Re: Salgal (# 95) Expand Referenced Message

I was able to get three refills in the same month. I first tried liquid Klonopin from a compounding pharmacy and it didn’t work so I refilled my old Teva a week later. That kept failing so a week later I found Accord and my doctor was able to call the pharmacist for an override and allowed me to fill it as long as I turned in my old stuff. They’ll do it if it’s for a legit reason like brand change.
