Clonazepam 0.5 Mg Teva Vs Accord (Page 4)

Updated

I recently received Teva clonazepam and it worked great. Two weeks ago, I received clonazepam from Accord Pharmaceuticals and it was like a placebo pill. Has anyone taken this medicine By Accord and have you noticed a serious difference with it not helping? I've never had a generic never work before. I don't know what to do. All pharmacies in my area are now going with Accord Pharmaceuticals because it's cheaper. Help with an answer please.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 56) Expand Referenced Message

There is no date to come back. Probably when they make the decision. Hope it’s soon. They stopped producing voluntarily so who knows.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 58) Expand Referenced Message

I hear you. I am sorry for this is happening. How did you manage to get to such specific dosage (0.172mg)? How do you weigh it ?

Re: Kita (# 63) Expand Referenced Message

I have a GEM20 Scale that my wife files and weighs them on as I taper slowly about 3% every two weeks. I finally gave up on TEVA, I wasn't getting better. I had a compounding pharmacy make me a liquid compound from Ora Plus suspending agent and pure pharmaceutical powder. So no generic or extra excipients, just straight K in a suspension. So far I am feeling much more like myself mentally even though I'm feeling rough physically with the change with night sweats, insomnia, severe stomach pain, etc. But my CNS is sensitive so I'm sure it's just the adjustment.

Accord is the only one that works for me. Take whatever your body likes. There is a shortage of everything right now.

Re: Salgal (# 65) Expand Referenced Message

Accord is the only one that works for me too, at least I haven't found something else that does. Im not switching to another drug, K worked I just need to find a brand that does the same thing. I was on Ativan years ago but it wore off and I had horrible tolerance and interdose withdrawal. K made me feel totally normal, even as I tapered off slowly. I would like to think that in time everyone would eventually stabilize on any brand. I mean I know it doesnt work that way, but whenever people start a benzo, they generally work at the beginning, and nobody cares what brand it is. It is the switching that throws the brain off. It causes things to destabilize and that doesn't settle quickly. I've even heard of people who switched back to brands that used to work for them and they don't work as well. Again, it is the brain's resistance to change that is the issue. That being said, if Accord was released tomorrow I'd be first in line to get it.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 64) Expand Referenced Message

The GEM20 scale seems to have a precision of 1mg. We are talking about 0.25mg and lower …. Does it work ?
Thanks for clarifying and the help in advance.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 66) Expand Referenced Message

I am assuming K is the brand name right ? If it worked fine for you why just don’t go back to it ?

Re: Kita (# 67) Expand Referenced Message

the .25mg is Klonopin active ingredient. What you are weighing with a scale is the pill weight itself, which is much higher. A full .5mg Klonopin tablet from Accord/Teva is about .172g. So right now my .172mg klonopin dose is .059g on the scale.

Re: Kita (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

K powder is the active ingredient itself with no excipients attached. Brand name K is active ingredient in the fillers/binders made by the brand name manufacturer.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 69) Expand Referenced Message

It is clear to me. Thank you so much for the explanation. One last question: do you cut the pill with a knife ?

Re: Kita (# 71) Expand Referenced Message

My wife cuts it in half and then files each half down with a nail file to my current dose. We then weigh it on a scale.

Talked to manufacturer like many did here. Just like a few of you said, it should be back in a matter of months. She said Oct/Nov they should be receiving information as to the start date and she anticipated it could be around the end of this year, start of next. So possibly 4-6 months. She said definitely not longer than a few months, a few meaning what I just said. So that's good. She was confident in that and I asked her several times to be sure.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 73) Expand Referenced Message

Meanwhile I’m tired of cutting 2 mg Accord into a quarter piece, then trying TEVA which was like a sugar pill. Had withdrawals. Then SoCol which crumpled up when cut and disintegrated before I could swallow it. Finally said my mental health is important and got the real deal. Loving feeling good again and not that expensive. It’s Klonopin for me. Please don’t take that away too!

Accord is very superior to TEVA In my opinion. TEVA is like a sugar pill. Sent me into withdrawal. I’ll take ACCORD anyway.

Re: Salgal (# 75) Expand Referenced Message

Some swear by accord, some swear by Teva. I don’t think one is better than the other because I think it’s subjective. I will say Teva hits way harder than accord and my body hates that so much. It has thrown me into withdrawal and a toxic state that won’t stop. 8 weeks now no relief. Looking to switch to another brand hopefully in another week or two. Can’t take it another day.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 73) Expand Referenced Message

Have you found something that works other than Accord? I have been on the manufacturer for years. Can not take Teva or others. Accord only one that worked. I am in the US. I just saw Intas labs in India who makes accord got a warning letter from the fda and they have not cleared up their manufacturing issues to their satisfaction. I just switched to Klonopin non generic, and feel tired and depressed on it. I have done great on Accord. Now I fear it will be quite a while until Accord comes back.

Re: Kone (# 77) Expand Referenced Message

I actually found a local pharmacy that still has Accord, it's a small independent one, and they are filling a 3 month supply for me which is 180 days since I cut in half. I just read a whole bunch of stuff on the FDA letter that just came out, and there are 24 drugs they make at Intas that the are considered in shortage that the FDA are excluding from the import ban and Clonazepam is one of them. They still want Intas to make the changes, but they won't bar import if Accord decides to release. Let's hope they do.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 78) Expand Referenced Message

I hope they do soon. What city did you find the accord brand in? I called around at the end of June, got 12 pills that lasted me 24 days, as I also cut in half. Now on Klonopin and hate it!

Re: Kone (# 79) Expand Referenced Message

How long till you started feeling lousy on Klonopin? Took me about a week to know something was wrong. Been back on Accord for 4 days, somethings felt better right away, I'm sure it will take a while for everything to stabilize.
