Clonazepam 0.5 Mg Teva Vs Accord (Page 3)

Updated

I recently received Teva clonazepam and it worked great. Two weeks ago, I received clonazepam from Accord Pharmaceuticals and it was like a placebo pill. Has anyone taken this medicine By Accord and have you noticed a serious difference with it not helping? I've never had a generic never work before. I don't know what to do. All pharmacies in my area are now going with Accord Pharmaceuticals because it's cheaper. Help with an answer please.

Re: Ellen (# 34) Expand Referenced Message

I also checked every pharmacy in my city today via phone including Walmart, and none of them will supply the Accord brand. I don't know where to turn.

Accord works well for me and i have been taking it for a long time for panic disorder. Teva does not work well for me and at the end of a dose I start to withdraw too soon and get horrible headaches. Now they are having a hard time getting me Accord but i cannot take Teva!

Re: Marcie (# 42) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Marcie: I feel your pain I don't know what to do as every pharmacy where I live said they will only fill my script with TEVA Gosh, I even called the drug company that is on my Medicare plan, but they said they could not say what generic they would fill it with. Honestly, how helpful is that when you are suffering from anxiety? I felt like reaching into the phone and strangling them. I would pay cash for Accord at this point in time, screw the insurance.

Re: Veg21 (# 37) Expand Referenced Message

Someone in one of the posts mentioned that the clonazepam dissolved tablets worked for him better than the other generics when he was switched from accord healthcare. Perhaps this is an option to try? I can not take TEVA, it gave me very bad side effects, not withdraw effect, just bad side effect.

Re: Lynne (# 41) Expand Referenced Message

I heard that the FDA is looking into accord for adding something to the medication that made it more addictive. And pulled (recalled over 20 meds.) Now the accord website says they are having manufacturing issues. And don't know when they will be able to supply pills again. But the US has stopped the sale and use of the company until the investigation is complete.

I'm in the same boat. My doc put me on TEVA which is horrid. Doesn't work. No one anywhere has ACCORD. I called the company and they don't know when it will be available. My doc gave me 2 mg. to cut into quarters. Have you ever tried to cut these tiny pills into quarters? It's impossible. I am having panic attacks again and don't know what to do. It's rediculous.

Accord is the only clonazepam that works for me. Teva is like a sugar pill. I need my medicine been on it for many years.

Re: cherie (# 45) Expand Referenced Message

It’s a mfg issue. Other drugs had to be pulled so in an abundance of caution they pulled clonazepam and I’m suffering. I talked directly to them.

Re: Veg21 (# 37) Expand Referenced Message

Teva doesn’t work for me. I heard of a French mfr who make’s clonazepam but who knows if we can get it. I’m so distraught. Been on this for over 25 years. It’s the gold standard for panic disorder. Changed my life. Help!

Re: Salgal (# 46) Expand Referenced Message

Same here Salgal. This is absurd to make us suffer like this. The Teva is not an acceptable substitute. I cannot believe the FDA lets the drug companies get away with this.

Hi Salgal: I agree completely. Teva does NOT work at all.

Re: Aria DD (# 39) Expand Referenced Message

I called the company Accord and did some deep dives on the internet and called pharmacies. Ppl are lighting up the internet with questions and problems about this issue. We need our drugs made here not somewhere in Europe, India and Croatia or god forbid, china!

Re: cherie (# 45) Expand Referenced Message

That was other meds Accord makes. They were pulled until the issue was fixed. But the company voluntarily stopped making clonazepam out of an “abundance of caution.” That’s terrible for us. If the drug is ok I say release it.

We see it. I think it was posted down the thread. The old 2018 post was last one until there was a problem again. Now posts are current.

As far as I know and I spoke with the manufacturer, it is not being discontinued BUT they don’t know when it will come back. Did you find a good replacement for you? Can you share ?

Re: Kita (# 57) Expand Referenced Message

I'm on Teva for 5 weeks and it's been a complete nightmare. Went from stable and working to full acute withdrawal with depression, panic, insane dreams, lost 10 lbs, can't eat. It's a total disaster and I can't settle down my nervous system. I feel like I'm overdrugged and going through withdrawal at the same time. I've heard Teva has a more potent effect for a lot of people, but I don't want/need that. My CNS needs stability as I taper slowly. I am considering switching to Brand name K for now to see if that helps. I am so devastated, Accord worked so well for me in my taper, which is down to .172mg. Now I'm paralyzed and don't know what to do.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 58) Expand Referenced Message

I feel for you. It’s horrible what they’re doing to us. Can you try a similar medication like an SSRI or Xanax ? I’m getting worried about the situation. God help us all.

Re: Kita (# 57) Expand Referenced Message

I’m calling my doc tomorrow. There is Xanax and SSRIs but I don’t like Xanax. Not a long half life like clonazepam. The minute it starts to wear off you know it.
