Can I take my clindamycin hcl 300 a couple of hours early So I can go to bed ## Hello, Suzy! How are you? You can, unless your doctor has specified that it's important to take them at the precise times designated. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Iv been taking it its dated 2013 because icant aford the 60$ perscription for it n i need to have teeth pulled but i need to take the antibiotic first so am i poisoned. Am i gunna die thts realy all i need to know. Thankyou ## Hello, Karl! How are you? No, it won't kill you. However, medications do lose effectiveness over time, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. The best thing to do would be to dispose of it and pick up the new prescription. Has anyone else gotten adult diaper rash while using clindamycin? ## It can cause a non-allergic skin rash, as a side effect, most antibiotics can do that. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea. However, if the rash is solely confined to your genital area, then you should have it checked out by your doctor. They can also cause yeast infections and, if that is what you're experiencing, then you'll need an antifungal medication to treat it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was left incontinent after an accident and wear absorbent briefs (aka adult diapers with tapes) to manage it. I NEVER, in seven years have had any serious diaper rashes, yeast, or fungal infections, or any serious skin issues down there as I make sure to stay clean. I took ...

I have 29 capsules to take the 3 days prior to root canal. I am allergic to penicillin and iodine and take Fluvoxamine for OCD and lose dose Xanax. I always have panic when I have to start a new med. I am a 65 year old female...is this antibiotic safe? Will it effect my blood pressure as mine AT TIMES runs low (especially at night or after meal.) ## Did you say you have 29 Clindamycin caps to take 3 days before a root canal? Did you mean you have 29 caps and will FINISH them 3 days before a root canal? 29 caps of Clindamycin in 3 days is a heck of a lot of caps to swallow. ...so I'm gonna assume you meant you'll finish the script 3 days before the root canal. As you know Clindamycin is an antibiotic. Your doctor likely prescribed this particular antibiotic because you are allerg...

My daughter was prescribed clindamycin for impetigo for 10 day/2pills/3 times daily. The pharmacy we have in our town doesn't provide the information sheets with prescriptions so I often times look up the meds myself. I read that when giving this medicine to children organ system function monitoring is desirable. Is that for long term usage or something I should push with my doctor now? Thanks. ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? First, if the pharmacy isn't giving you the information sheets, then they are not dispensing prescriptions properly. They are required to at least offer them to you, with every prescription. That can be reported to your state pharmacy board and they will made to correct this issue. And yes, it does say that they doctor should monitor organ system function in ...

My prescription clindamycin has an expiration date of four years from today is that right? 300 mg ## Hello, Luna! How are you? Is it in a regular dispensing bottle from your pharmacy, or was it in the original factory bottle? The original factory sealed bottles have a longer expiration date, but that should change once it has been opened. Did you try asking your pharmacist? ## Thank you for your reply, it is a pharmacy bottle not a manufacture bottle. Why would a pharmacist after opening the manufacture bottle not calculate the life span of the clindamycin? ## Can Clindamycin HCL 300 be used one year past the use by date ## I have a bottle of clindamycin hcl 300 mg dated 1/20/12. My husband could not take them when they were prescribed because they made him sick. I have a severe tooth i...

Can I use clindamycclyndamycin 150 capsules 3 months after use by date...take 4 of them 1 hr before going to dentist ## Hello, Josie! How are you? I assume that you take them due to a heart issue, to prevent possible infection from dental treatments? If so, then it would be best to check with your doctor, before taking them, since they are expired. Antibiotics tend to lose effectiveness once expired, so it may be better for you to obtain a new supply. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

The FDA classifies Clindamycin as an antibiotic that can be used effectively to treat various types of bacterial infections. Did your doctor prescribe it for bronchitis? Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Are there any markings on the capsules?

Just wondering if you can take stacker 3 while taking clindamycin ## Hi Cat, Unfortunately when it comes to OTC dietary supplements or fat burners like Stacker 3, determining their safety with pharmaceutical drugs is often a challenge, because non-pharmaceutical preparations is a category that tends to go unaccounted for with regards to general information on potential interactions. For that reason I'd strongly encourage you to get in touch with your doctor first and foremost before taking anything that he/she hasn't prescribed or recommended. In many cases I've come across, these types of combinations usually turn out to be fine and it's just a matter of getting your Dr's. approval to ensure safety. I hope this helps!

Can I take Clindamycin HCL 300MG if it expired on 4/26/14? Thank you. ## Hi Dea, While some antibiotics like tetracycline can become toxic after they expire, my findings lead me to believe that Clindamycin doesn't and should also be fine having only been expired for 9 months. According to mhra.gov.uk, Clindamycin has a shelf life of 15 months. There's also an article in the LA Times Newspaper (which you can find online) stating that researchers from the California Poison Control System, UC San Francisco and UC Irvine did a study investigating a variety of old drugs and concluded that many of them are still ok to take even up to 28-40 years after the listed expiration date! That said, I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as it was stored properly and not lef...

Can clindamycin this pill be taken with methocarbam 750mg ## Hello, BigC! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications in the MedScape databases, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. According to the FDA, the antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. The Methocarbamol may cause side effects that could include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I have a tooth infection and started taking clindamycin for it i have to get my teeth extracted in 6days. Will the infection be gone by then so i can have the tooth extracted? ## Hi Debbie, Sorry to hear about your tooth infection. I'm actually in the same boat as you, getting an extraction in the next month or so for an infected wisdom tooth. Most people get them taken out when they're young, but at age 25 I guess it's better late than never Lol. At any rate, most antibiotics such as Clindamycin, are often prescribed for 7-10 days, depending on the severity of the infection. But my guess is that the vast majority of the infection may be eradicated well within the parameters of that time frame, especially closer to the 7th day mark, when many patients are actually finished w...

I lost my bottle of Clindamycin. Can I start taking Zertalin in replace of Clindamycin? ## Hello, Dori! How are you? Zertralin contains the active ingredient Azithromycin, which is a similar antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, it might not be the best antibiotic to treat your current infection. Antibiotics aren't a controlled substance, so your doctor should be able to replace it, if you inform them of what happened. Is there anything else I can help with?

Dentist Gave Me Pain Meds And Antibiotics For A Toothache But It Still Hurts. What Can I Do To Help Ease The pain? The pain is extreme and keeps me from sleeping. ## Hello, Hex! How are you? What medications were you prescribed? How long have you been on the antibiotic? If it's working, you should start to feel an improvement after 3 days being on them, which will improve the pain. The antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. ## Hydrocodon and clindamycin. It has been nearly early a week ## If you're still in severe pain, after more than 3 days on the antibiotic, then you most likely need a different one, so you should consult your dentist, again. If an antibiotic is working, you should see improvement after 3 full days o...

Can clindamycin hcl liquid that was made by pharmacy still be used after 10 days ## Hello, Nika! How are you? No, 10 days is the maximum length of time that efficacy can be guaranteed. Liquids tend to degrade very fast, so once past that 10 days, it will no longer be as effective as it should, which creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. If an antibiotic is still required, it would be best to receive a new prescription from the prescribing doctor. Side effects to this antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

My daughter has just been prescribed 8ml of clindamycin palmitate 3 times a day for 7 days. She has been fighting ear infections, sinus infections and upper respiratory infections for the past 4 months. She has been on amoxicillin, Augmentin, septra and cefdinir and neither of these have worked. I took her to an ENT last week and recommended we remove her tonsils and adenoids and have ear tubes put in. She is scheduled for 3/11 however she is still running a fever off and on and has a slight cough so that is why he gave her clindamycin. I'm just worried because of the side effects of this antibiotic. I know it's a broad spectrum med so it has a higher possibility of c. Diff.... Is it ok to use this medicine on him....hope so! ## Hi Colleen! You should always contact your Vet before using any medication on you pet. ## @Colleen, Cats is right about contacting your vet first, especially when it comes to administering "prescription-only" medications like Clindamycin. From what I understand, determining the proper application for pets is usually based on the weight/size of the animal. However, a vet would surely be able to give you more specific details on how much to give your dog, w...
