I took Clindamycin 300mg cap 4x/day for 10 days. I still have an abcess on my neck (caused possibly from ingrown hair and my picking?). The lump has gotten much smaller, from large ping-pong to regular grape, but never came to head, and when i originally asked the doc about cleaning it out, she said we will see if this works first. I'm not happy i took such a risk and then read that these type of "cysts" cannot receive the antibiotic because they are closed off. ....etc. I finished pills yesterday. my baby at 8 days old was diagnosed with MRSA in his eyes. We've been on iv antibiotics and when he was sent home he was prescribed clindamycin in an oral form. 2 1/2 ML for 5 days. Well the MRSA returned shortly after we finished the 5 days. So he is back on it for 10 days. My question is we are using the same bottle of clindamycin that is now 2 weeks old.
