For about 3 to 4 weeks now I have been having trouble sleeping. I wake in the middle of the night and my mind starts going and I have terrible trouble shutting back down. My mind says, "what time is it? I need to get back to sleep", "I have to work in the morning" and on and on. Consumed with the thought of sleep I sometimes fail to go back to sleep. sometimes I do but it takes 2 hours. I have had this issue since I was a child but it only manifests itself every 6 months to a year or maybe even less. But lately its been, like I said, a couple of months with this. So I became desperate for relief. I went to my GP and she prescribed citalopram. Her diagnosis was anxiety. I suppose waking in the middle of the night and having a racing mind is a sort of anxiety thing. Unders...

Recently tested positive for methamphetamine and have never taken it in my life. I take keppa 500mg 2 times per day and celexa 40 mg 1 time per day. I do drink NOS energy drinks occasionally and I smoke menthol cigarettes. Could this have caused some kind of reaction to make the test false positive for methamphetamine?

Hi I'm Chantelle my GP today prescribed citalopram 10mg for my anxiety/depression, after reading things from other users of this product I'm scared of taking it because the most common cause feeling sick is one of my biggest fears, with actually being sick, and I don't know whether to to take it! :( would I be better taking it before bed so I won't feel any symptoms, thanks ## Hi Chantelle, While I don't have any personal experience with citalopram, I do think it's important to understand that medications can and usually do effect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results, but there are others that it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how many they take. Unfortunately when it comes to prescription drugs, the only way to find out is ...

I've been on 20mg Citalopram for almost 6 weeks now and don't feel any better, of anything I'm more depressed and anxious than I was before. Any thoughts plaeas? ## Too many physicians don't take side effects seriously, and rather than stopping the antidepressant, increase the dose. A major side effect of all antidepressants is a deeper depression. Although I'm a layman, I've been through enough therapy and antidepressants to know that what your doctor is doing is wrong. For one thing, psychiatrists should be prescribing antidepressants, not general practitioners. My advice is not to increase the dose and to see...
