Very Bad Side Effects Whilst Taking Citalopram

I have been taking Citalopram for about 4 months now, I still cry every week and I feel more depressed than what I felt before taking these tabs, they really make me feel awful, I stay in bed most of the time and very rarely venture out of the house, I am becoming a recluse and feel like I am heading for a huge breakdown, has anyone else experience these side-effects on Citalopram

It is well known that some antidepressant can backfire in some people that take them, this may actually cause depression, or make existing depression and anxiety worse.

Have you contacted your doctor? It just doesn't seem that this is the right medication for you to take and you should be switched to something else.

Hi Michelle when do you take the CITALOPRAM in the morning or in the evening and at what dose plus are you using any other type or form of a antideppresent? Also remember is not good to consume alchol while on thoes drugs.

Hi I take them in the morning and dosage is 30mg and I don't use alchohol with them, I have now tried taking them in the afternoon to try and sleep most of the time to avoid having to put up with the horrible side effects.

Yes these tabs were making my depression much worse and made me feel awfully sick, yes I have since posting my story been to see my doctor and he has changed my medication to cymgen and I fee 100% better, thank you for your reply.

Here in South Africa its under the brand name ASPIN CILIFT and i was on a 40mg dosage in the morning and just like you i did not want to do anything most of the time i felt like crawling under a rock plus i withdraw from the out side world so eventialy my shrink change my meds and now i use PROZAC plus EPILIM CR.

depending on the dose you may need more. ask your doctor about the heart problems caused by celexa

Yes, exactly. I've been IN BED ALMOST EVERY DAY FOR 2.5 years since these side effect made me feel so much worse. Just waiting to die now- am completely flat thanks to this drug IT'S POISONOUS
