how many months is Cip 500 effective? ## Once the Ciprofloxacin has been removed from the oringal factory sealed container and placed in a pharmacy dispensing bottle, which exposes it to the elements, it is only good for one year from the date it was filled. Can I take Ciprofloxacin for a tooth infection? I found some in the medicine cabinet from a previous Dr. Visit and was wondering if it would be effective??? ## Although Ciprofloxacin is not commonly prescribed for dental infections, it may be used for certain mouth or gum diseases, after a culture and sensitivity test is done. Hi, can i use prednisone after i used ic ciprofloxacin hcl 500 mg for 10 days? ## My findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions between these two drugs. So as long as you're not taking the two drugs together, then in my opinion you should be fine. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using ciprofloxacin together with prednisone can increase the risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture. This may be more likely to occur in older adults over 60 years of age or those who have received a kidney, heart, and/or lung transplant. Tendon rupture can occur during or up to several months after finishing ciprofloxacin treatment and may require surgery or result in prolonged disability. Talk with your doctor before using these medications together. Stop ta...

My doc recently prescribed me Ciprox 500 mg for a bladder infection. I started to feel improvement but then on the 3rd day it was getting worse again. I was about to call my doctor when he actually contacted me to say that he needs to prescribe me Nitrofur because my lab work came back positive for an E Coli infection. Any idea why he didn't just prescribe the Nitrofur from the beginning? According to my research the Cipro should be able to treat both types of infection. Thoughts? ## I'm not sure why they wouldn't have prescribed Nitrofurantoin first, since it is usually the 'go to' antibiotic for UTIs. Learn more Nitrofurantoin details here. Yes, Ciprofloxacin can also treat both. Learn more Ciprofloxacin details here. Is the Ntirofurantoin helping? ## Yes the nitro...

Oblong. White Scored on back ## Hi shell, Based on the description provided, I found your white oblong pill to be Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (500 mg). My only concern about this match, is that the back of the pill does not appear to have a "score line" per say, but rather an indented arrow; which in my honest opinion could count as a divider. Ciprofloxacin is a drug used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Learn More: Ciprofloxacin Details Please post back if you have any other questions or additional information to add regarding the score line. I hope this helps!

The white pill has a groove on one side and "P 500" on the other. It is white and round. What is it? ## Hi Chris, I found one possible ID for this pill based on the description provided. The pill with this imprint has been identified as Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (500 mg). It is white, but also capsule-shaped or oval as opposed to round. This seems to be the only discrepancy in relation to what you described it as. For further verification, it is Manufactured by Pack Pharmaceuticals, LLC. and the National Drug Code (NDC) is: 16571-0412 Please post back if you can confirm whether or not your pill is an elongated (oval) round shape or simply a perfect circle. Thanks! I hope this helps!

I have an uper respiratory infeccion, need to know if Clorfex is good for that ## Are you referring to Clorfex from Mexico? If so, it contains Ciprofloxacin, which is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections. Has your doctor confirmed the presence of an infection?

Large, about the size of my thumb, pill from Mexico. I'm pretty sure it is an antibiotic. Probably ciprofloxacin but I want to be sure. It was put in a contudol diclofenaco bottle because the pharmacy said it would not pass the boarder in the orginal bottle. It is scored on one side and no other markings (numbers or letters) ## The pharmacy didn't tell you what it was? Without any markings, it is going to be difficult to identify. Problems like this are just one of the hazards of buying medications from Mexico, there is also no way to be certain of their purity and safety.

my dr prescribed this med for a infection. The Dr. or the pharmacy neglected to tell me that you are not supposed to take antacids with this med. When I got Home I read the paperwork and the warning was also on the bottle. I have to take antacids 2x a day for my GURD. I stopped taking the antacids. What would happen if I had take my regular doses of antacids. ## If you take it with regular antacids, such as the calcium based ones like Tums, it can cause less of the medication to be absorbed, so it isn't as effective. With Ciprofloxacin, you should make sure to take these types of antacids 6 hours away from the antibiotic. This doesn't apply, however, if you are taking some other type, such as the proton pump inhibitors that are sold as generics, as well as under name brands like...

Is it safe to take Ciprofloxacin pills white oblong VP 120 in combination with adder all 30mg tablets? also, the Ciprofloxacin expired in 2008. ## The tablets with this marking aren't listed as being Coprofloxacin. They are listed as being a different type of antibiotic that is sold under the name brand Bactrim, which contains the active ingredients Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. It does not get dangerous, past the expiration date, but it does lose effectiveness, which ups the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. I am not finding an interactions listed between it and Adderall, but you should really consult a doctor, or pharmacist to be certain and to get a more recent prescription of an antibiotic, if you need it. Is there anything else I can help with?
