Does this medication make you light sensative, will I have a higher chance of sunburn while taking this? ## Photosensitivity is common in antibiotic classes like quinolones (Ciprofloxacin), tetracyclines (Doxycycline), and sulfa drugs (Sulfamethoxazole). These drugs you would have to avoid sun exposure. I personally have not read about photosensitivity with Pota-Vi-Kin (Penicillin) use. Most antibiotics have a label on them saying that "this could cause sun sensitivity". I would be on the look out for a label like that for future references; but as far as Penicillin goes, you should be fine. Hope this helps!

Interaction with IC Sucralfate 1 GM and what foods to avoid. The Ciprofloxacin was prescribed for a prostate and/or bladder infection ## The Sucralfate can affect the absorption of the Ciprofloxacin, making it less effective, so you do need to be careful to take the Ciprofloxacin, at least 6 hours after you take the Sucralfate. The Ciprofloxacin may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more: Dairy products can also affect the absorption of it, so they should be avoided within 2 hours of taking the antibiotic. Are there any other questions?

Is it dangerous to mix methadone & ciprofloxacin, & if so what would be the percentage rate of those who could be affected??? ## This combination of medications is actually not recommended, because the additive effects may cause QT prolongation and cardiac arrhythmia. There are no specifics on a percentage rate of how many people might be affected, however, if this has made it into the drug warnings, then a pretty high number of people had to have experienced it. Has your doctor advised you to take them both?

is it good for toothaches? ## Ciprofloxacin is limited to the treatment of proven bacterial infections such as: -Urinary tract infections (not recommended as a first-line antibiotic) -Acute uncomplicated cystitis in females -Chronic bacterial prostatitis (not recommended as a first-line antibiotic choice) -Lower respiratory tract infections (not recommended as a first-line antibiotic choice) -Acute sinusitis (not recommended as a first-line antibiotic choice) -Skin and skin structure infections -Bone and joint infections -Infectious diarrhea -Typhoid fever (enteric fever) caused by Salmonella typhi Since it doesn't list tooth aches as a treatment option, I would definitely suggest looking into Clove Essential Oil. I would like to know if Zoxan 500 is used to treat blood infection. If so, for what level of infgection it is used. Mild, average or serious? ## Ciprofloxacin is reported to be the active ingredient in Zoxan. Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a number of infections including: infections of bones and joints, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, malignant otitis externa, respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, urinary tract infections, prostatitis, anthrax, chancroid, among others. The term "among others" is very vague, so I think it best to contact your doctor to confirm its use for blood infection. I personally couldn't find any info relating it to that treatment, but your local doctor or pharmacy should be able to clarify that for you.

So I discontinued taking Ciprofloxacin for a UTI about four weeks ago and since then I've been having some unusual problems. Such as thickness of throat feeling, slight shortness of breath, pressure behind eyeballs, random pains around my ear, ribcage pain, heartburn, upper abdominal pain, sharp pain near belly button, out of body feeling, and on and off sharp pains around my heart. Two days after I stopped the drug my heart was racing, my mouth became very dry and I was having pains around my heart. I went to the ER, was hooked up to an IV and was told I had Dehydration and High Blood Pressure. I found that very weird because prior to coming in I had drank five bottles of water that morning, was completley relaxed and I have never had a High Blood Pressure problem ever before. They...

I had a "pea" size knot on my left testicle. The doctor named it right away, but I didn't catch the name... he said it was pretty common. He perscribed the medications and 4 days later it was gone, but I have to take them for two weeks with no sex what so ever ## There are few possibilities for what it was, such as Epididymitis: As well as others, that can cause similar problems. The Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections and you should take it for the full length of time as prescribed by the doctor. And yes, you should also refrain from sex, until you are done with the medication and the infection is completely cleared up. What does it mean if you have mental changes while on cipro? Why does this happen? Could this indicate I have a mental problem? I had the same problem with predazon. Except when I woke up my face was red and puffy. They think I have a allergy to predazone. Any way just concerned that this has happened with two medicines. So far no other side effects from the cipro. Just the mental changes. It's getting better as I let it leave my system. ## No, this doesn't necessarily mean you have a mental problem, it means the medication is having an odd effect on your body. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic and while they can list information on the most common side effects that you may experience, such as: nausea, dizziness, skin rash and diarrhea, there is no way of knowing the specific effec...

it' s known that milk interferes with the absorption of some antibiotics, just i want to know for how long after ingestion of cifran one can take milk so that cifran therapeutic effect is not affected. ## Cifran contains the active ingredient Ciprofloxacin, it is an antbiotic and, in this instance, it isn't related to how long it stays in your body, but rather how long it stays in your stomach. Thus, this medication should be taken on an empty stomach either at least a half hour before, or 2 hours after meals. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, skin rash and diarrhea. I have a painful toothache. The dentist office is closed on Sunday. I have 1 ciprofloxacin 500 mg and cephalexin 500 mg. I don't know if they are okay to take for my toothache. ## Those are both antibiotics, used to treat various types of infections, so they may help, but it will not be enough to completely get rid of the infection and they will not treat pain. It is very important that you see a dentist to get to the root of the problem and, if needed, get enough antibiotics to clear up an infection. Are there any other questions?
