Chest Pain Taking Lercanidipine
UpdatedI was prescribed 10 mg Lercanidipine about three weeks ago for high blood pressure. Experiencing two types of chest discomfort, one is my heart pounding in my chest usually accompanied by flushing. This usually passes in a couple of minutes. The second is chest pain when moving about sometimes. This passes in a few minutes upon resting. I also suffer from anxiety and this is definitely not helping!!! I try to stay calm but am beginning to worry about doing anything! If this is just a side effect and will pass then that's OK and I will persevere. Can anyone put my mind at rest please? Also excessive toilet trips!

Hello, Sam! How are you?
Palpitations and flushing can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA.
As to the chest pain, however, that is something you should always have checked out by a doctor, to be safe. There is a chance that it's due to the medication, but it could also be something else.
Are you on any other medications?
I have been on Lercanidipine 20mg for 4 weeks now, I had chest pain that seem to have stopped. But I have headaches, flushing and increased in body temperature that will wake me from sleep and keep me up. Is all these known side effect
