I, 71 years old, suffered sudden angina pectoris, having a little high blood pressure. My Dr. carried out an ECG which revealed normal ECG. Prescribed nitrocortin 2.6 twice with amlopres trio once. After 10 days blood pressure came down to a normal 130/80 which raised to 160/80 during angina. Would I require nitrocortin 2.6 further? If so, for how long? May you kindly advise? ## To my understanding, Nitrocortin is safe.

Problems with certain generics, took Teva brand for years, worked like a charm, they stopped making it, tried Solco brand and it gave me severe stomach pains, took namebrand and it gave me chest pain and palpitations anyone have similar experience? Wonder if I should try another brand of generic, not feeling well at all ## Hello robin, Both symptoms you described are associated with taking losartin and you should be communicating these symptoms with your doctor as they can be dangerous. Though each brand is required to have the same active ingredients in them the companies do have the ability to change their inactive ingredients which is what most people tend to have a problem with. I would discuss these symptoms with your doctor and then have them determine if you need to be tested for...

Is this medication going off the market? The girl at HEB pharmacy said "they" (the pharmaceutical co.?) were going to quit making it. ## Why has Adalat 60 mg. been discontinued in Canada? What are the medical community recommending in replacement? ## Hello Sharon, According to the FDA only certain dosages of the Adalat CC extended release is going to be discontinued as of now. Their list shows that the 10mg XR version of the pill is being discontinued but all the others are currently listed as currently being produced. I can't promise they won't close down the other XR dosages but for the moment only the 10mg has been affected. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day.

I am supposed to start taking Ranexa for diffuse CAD. Intermittent angina. I take trazodone at night to help me sleep. The two drugs are incompatible. Do you know of medication for sleep that is compatible with Ranexa? Thanks for any help. ## Hello, Donna! How are you? Drugs in the benzodiazepine class, such as Xanax are not listed as having interactions with the Ranexa, Ambien is also listed as being safe, but only your doctor can decide what's safe for you. The FDA warns that medications, such as Xanax, carry the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. A friend said that it is something new.red liquid drops you put on your tongue when having a heart attack, instead of the tablets.they also have a longer expiration date than the tablets ## The drops are probably a new form of the more traditional treatment. Here is some additional info about how nitroglycerin work in the event of a heart attack. Nitroglycerin is a chemical that opens up (dilates) arteries and veins and increases blood flow to the heart. During heart attack, Nitroglycerin can be placed under the tongue, where it quickly dissolves and is absorbed into the bloodstream. Nitroglycerin also can be administered via continuous intravenous (IV) infusion; applied to the skin in cream or patch form, where it is slowly absorbed; or administered as short- or long-acting nitrate pill...

For lack of funds I was without my isosorb mono er 30mg tab WES for five days. I started taken it again and after two days of horrible headaches realized must be my meds. My question is can I cut them in half so my system can more slowly get used to the Isosorb again? ## Hello, Based on my research, Splitting tablets (if split unevenly) may effect the designed release profile significantly enough to where it may cause health problems. The way certain tablets (especially coated and controlled release tablets) are broken down and absorbed in the body can change when they are split. This can potentially decrease positive effects and increase negative effects associated with the medication. Tablets that are safe to split normally have a score line or breakage line. Are there any breakage li...

I've been taking this medication since 2012 daily. ## Hello, Buck! How are you? It could be dangerous, stopping suddenly and not replacing it with anything may result in rebound high blood pressure and elevated heart rate, which could lead to heart attack, stroke or heart failure, as reported by the FDA. I took a 0.4 mg. Nitro prior to a 5 min. Extremely high intensity physical fitness test. Once I got to the last station I had burned out with no leg strength and completely exhausted to the point of feeling about to pass out and vomit. It took me 2:13 minutes to go through the first 4 stations. Over 3 minutes to complete the last station, which should only take about 45 seconds. I am out of shape but normally don’t have this happen. My blood pressure was about 148 systolic before taking nitro. I ran this “combat challenge “ about 5 minutes after the nitro. Do you think the nitro had a negative effect and caused the failure. I was also pale as a ghost. ## Has this medication been prescribed for you?
