Correctness Of Medication

My wife had replacement of knee joints on 29.04.2011. After 2 months she started fealing pain in the back. MRI shows that bilateral facet joints arthropathic changes at L4-5 ana L5-S1 level with ectasia of the dural nerve lobe sleeves at L5-S1 and insignificant posterior bulge of the disc at L1-2 Level. The doctor has prescribed following medicine to treat this.

1. Hifenac-SR - 1 Tab after BF & Dinner
,2.Mobizox - 1 tab after Lunch,
3. Tagretot-100- 1 tab at 11 AM & another at 4 PM,
4.Reconia - 1 Cap after Dinner,
5. 1 Tab Nugaba M before Sleep

I want to know how long one should take these medicine and is there any side effect.I also want to know whether this medication is ok.
Pl do reply me .

Only she and her doctor can decide how long it is appropriate for her to take any medication, it really depends on how much they help, whether she has any problems from them and if her condition improves or deteriorates.

As to side effects, yes, all medications carry the risk of causing them.

Hifenac-SR contains a time released formulation of DIclofenac, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling.

Its side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation.

Mobizox contains the active ingredient Chlorzoxazone, which is a muscle relaxant.

Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and drowwiness.

Tegretol contains the active ingredient Carbamazepine, it is an anticonvulsant that also helps with certain types of nerve pain.

Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes.

The Riconia is just a multivitamin and mineral supplement.

Neugaba contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, this is another anticonvulsant that can also help with nerve pain.

Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.
