Hi. I am a 65 year old female and I have been taking Rivaroxaban 20mg daily for 6 weeks now (because I have atrial fibrillation). Apart from feeling a little more tired than usual, I have been suffering with nausea since starting the meds. For ladies on this forum, it feels like pregnancy morning sickness, a sort of low-grade 'yukky' feeling but with no actual vomiting. I was on xarelto for 1 month. I was taking 20 mg for a blood clot that developed from my mediport. The med caused me to itch so bad that I was switched to lovenox inj's. After three day of being on the lovenox I am still itching. It has mainly been my hands and my feet. How long do these medications work in your system for? ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? A fall produced a cut and abrasion. Bled for 5 days so stopped xarelto 15 mg/day. Had taken for 4 months for DVT. Am now on 5th day without xarelto. Blood is still oozing slightly but clotting well. Do I wait until the bleeding has stopped before restarting xarelto? Doctor is unavailable. ## I would get to some Doctor first and sooner the better. Can I take Serrapeptase pills when I'm taking Xarelto? Will it affect my blood thinners? ## Hello Kita, Due to Serrapeptase being a vitamin I was unable to find any conclusive evidence that there is a negative interraction between it and the Xarelto. I was able to find on the Serrapeptase manufacturing website a warning that states if you have a bleeding disorder that you should consult your doctor before taking Serrapeptase. I would advise that you discuss this with your doctor not only because of the Serrapeptase warning but also because both of these work towards preventing blood clotting. I have been on xarelto for 9 months for a PE i never had. I just seen a pulmonologist today and he said I didn't have a PE and I should stop taking them. Elequis problems I forgot to mention. I now have Periphial neuropathy, stiff joints in the morning, tremendous depression that destroys my well being and can't sleep very well. My muscle tone is gone and my legs barely hold me up. My arms are too week to support me also. I feel like the life is being sucked out of me. Hi, I am on Xarelto for three months due to a blood clot in the lower calf left leg. I have been suffering with a pain to the left side of my neck my the lymph node travelling down my left arm. Now my neck is getting stiff and I feel like I have a lump in my throat. Should I be concerned? ## I, too, have a blood clot in my right lower calve. I have chronic pain my lower back. I was prescribed xarelto 20 mg for 20 days following foot surgery, due to a history of a clot in my calf, took last pill day before yesterday and my whole body, but especially my foot is swollen and retaining fluid I am fatigued and sore. DVT's in calf, had one 10 yrs ago, just found a other 2 or 3(had Charley horse that wouldn't go away, so went to ER). Had Lovenox shots in hospital, sent home with Eliquis starter pack ..had headache & dizziness 1st day, now diminished, but have breast sensitivity, indigestion & a little itchiness. I have been experiencing joint and muscle aches. Also a loss of memory and totally can't smell. Also things don't taste as good. I am on neurontin as well. That maybe together with eliquis is causing this lethargic and dizzy feeling. I had a really bad cough. I'm having problems with constipation but am afraid to take a laxative with rivaroxaban. Please let me know what can be used? ## Hello Charlie, This matter would be best addressed by your primary care physician. Even if I gave you the name of a brand that would not have any adverse effects with rivaroxaban it would still be risky because I don't have access to your medical records/history and it would be blind advise that could have a seriously negative impact on you. Within 3 days of taking 20mg of xarelto I could not move. Back pain, spasms and muscle stiffness was horrible. Informed cardiologist who disregarded my complaints. Have been off xarelto 8 months and still suffering from back pain and stiffness. It is unknown if this is permanent. I hope to God that is not the case. Just got out of the hospital for PE after 36 hours on a heparin drip, and with my first dose of eliquis nearly immediately had a migraine. Took tylenol and sumatripatin (i'm prone to migraines) but no relief until i finally fell. asleep. woke up, took my next dose of eliquis (10 mg), immediate return of headache plus bonus! heart started racing, too. I don't have a picture to post for you, but according to the databases, it should be round, white and have a capital M on one side and C27 on the other. Took xarelto for 3 months after broken ankle and subsequent blood clot in calf. Developed severe, strange muscle pain in left shoulder blade, arm, elbow, neck, etc. Even went to ER because pain and tightness in left chest. Im 43 and pretty healthy otherwise. My husband was on Eliquis for over two years. I watched him go from a outgoing person to someone who just wanted to sit and watch TV. One Thursday night he couldn't get up and could not move his right leg. By the time I called 911 and he reached the hospital, he was paralyzed on his right side. His mouth was drouping and he could not speak. He suffered an intercranial hemorrhage which could not be reversed. Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My m was on blood thinner eliquis for several years and doing fine, one day she told the doctor that there may be blood in stool. The dr immediately said stop taking eliquis now!
