I had my lymph nodes removed from left axilla 19 years ago, for breast cancer. I am now taking warfarin for Afib and high blood pressure, both now regulated by medication fairly well. I know you can't use a 24 hr.BP monitor while taking warfarin, I assume because of the pressure on the arm - what about wearing a compression sleeve when travelling by air? ## That is something you should really check with your doctor about and see if it is safe for you to do. The pressurized air in the cabin, coupled with the elevation tends to raise your blood pressure. This, along with the fact that you are on Warfarin can affect the safety and advisability of doing so. My doctor took me off Plavix two weeks ago, and I`ve noticed the bruise`s on my forearm`s starting itching alot!! Also started getting little blisters, before the itching. I am coumadin and have a terrible time with level fluctuations. I bleed very quickly. What is the interaction problem with sulfatrim? Doctor advised me to take 75mg clopid tablet after angeoplasty on me.For what? ## Clopid contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel, this is used to help prevent clotting. i have a illiostomy and take plavix every day my question may i take plavix with a hot drink i think that the pill may go right through me into my bag ## i take plavix once per day i have a illiostomy and think i have seen the pill in my pouch?? can i mix the pill with a hot drink whitch would melt it before i take it

I would like to know what this medication is used for? ## Pentoxifylline is used to treat intermittent claudication resulting from obstructed arteries in the limbs, and vascular dementia. Pentoxifylline has also been used to treat nausea and headaches in the mountains (altitude sickness).

I have Narcolepsy and have been taking various drugs (e.g. Adderall, Dexotrine, Vyvanse) for the condition for the past 8 years. I recently had stints inserted into two arteries (one was almost completely closed). My wife feels that I should not take any stimulant medications since being diagnosed with artery problems. I currently take Warfarin for atrial fib but I am wary of it because I think my father died of a cerebral hemorrhage. Is Dabigatran a better choice? ## They are both anticoagulants, so one isn't necessarily safer than any other, they both can cause the same side effects and carry the same risks. There is really no way to tell, ahead of time, how safe any medication is going to be for anyone. If you feel more comfortable using one, rather than the other, then by all means discuss it with your doctor. Are there any questions or comments?

my father is on 10mg of coumadin, and he was recently prescribed aggrenox. He is also taking k/dur, demadex, xanax, lortab, ambien, lexapro, and teveten. I am worried that there is a danger in him taking aggrenox because of the fact that it contains aspirin. ## 10 mg of coumadin is a large dose. Why is he on this large a dose??? I find this very interesting. ## June, I am not sure if you will get a response, since this post was made almost 4 years ago. I been on caumadin since feb./2010 because of a blood clot on my leg from birthcontrol (nuva ring) and well this headaches get bad sometimes its all day and tylenol dont do anything for the pain anymore.. So do you think is becausethe caumadin? I also started having anxiety attacks since i gotdiagnose but im much better now i have no blood clot .. And well my docor is trying to get me off coumadin since it has been 6 months already i been on it but im scared to get off it cause i dont want it comming back so asked her to give me 3 more months :/ butif the coumadin is the cause of my horrible headaches/ migranes then i would think aboutjust stopping it..
