I currently take Warfarin for atrial fib but I am wary of it because I think my father died of a cerebral hemorrhage. Is Dabigatran a better choice?

They are both anticoagulants, so one isn't necessarily safer than any other, they both can cause the same side effects and carry the same risks.

There is really no way to tell, ahead of time, how safe any medication is going to be for anyone.

If you feel more comfortable using one, rather than the other, then by all means discuss it with your doctor.
