I am coumadin and have a terrible time with level fluctuations. I bleed very quickly. What is the interaction problem with sulfatrim? I am taking it for a sinus infection.

Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim, the active ingredients in Bactrim, is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections.
When taken with Coumadin, which contains the active ingredient Warfarin, the plasma concentrations of the Coumadin can be increased, meaning that you are absorbing more of the medication than usual and your body isn't processing it out at the normal rate.
This can result in increased bleeding dangers.
