Greetings, Prescribed warfarin leaves me very fatiqued. Would a switch to prescribed Plavix elimate the daily fatique ? ## What are you taking it for? Have you consulted your doctor? The reason I ask is because, in cases where someone is taking it due to some heart problem, it may not be the medication itself that is causing the fatigue. In these cases, the fatigue could be caused by the cardiac condition, itself. Unless they are constantly having to adjust your dosage, fatigue as a medication side effect should wear off and not be as severe, after a few weeks, when your body has adjusted to the medication. I take plavis will sensa affect this drug ## Are you referring to the weight loss product, Sensa? If that is so, then I can only suggest you discuss it with your doctor, or pharmacist. While their website makes many claims, I can't find any specific information on what the product actually contains.

My INR for over a year is between 2.5 and 3. My nurse insists that I only require it to be tested every 3 months. I have a mitral valve fitted and fibration and worry that this is not often enough. Comments? ## What medication(s) do you take? There are some newer ones that are not as unpredictable and don't cause the severe problems with your INR that the older ones did. For instance, people on Coumadin are usually tested every month.

I have been using clopidogrel 75mg+aspirin 75 combination since last 21 months on my doctors advise.As such I do not have any problem with the drugs,and I am feeling much better now. I have been operated and CABG on LAD was done in the year 2000,and PTCA on LAD with stunt was done in 1999 which restenosed in six months.Another PTCA with stunt was done in Feb 2007 and I have no problem with that. I have severe pain in my left wrist and it is burning. Can I rub some Deep Heating Rub on it even thought I am on Warfarin ## I'd suggest asking your doctor or pharmacist, to be sure. While there shouldn't be a problem, it really depends on the ingredients of the rub you are using. Some of them contain products that can cause additional blood thinning. Or, if you'd like to post back with the ingredients, I'll be happy to check for you! Do you know what it contains?

I just started on Warfarin a few weeks ago, due to a blood clot. First 2 weeks was okay, but now that it has built up in my system, I am having nausea, stomach pains, diarrhea. Everyone is telling me to switch to Coumadin. I am seeing my doctor on Monday. It feels like Gallbladder trouble, but she does not think so. So many people are telling me to get the Coumadin instead. My son had a heart attack at 20 years he received 3 stents in RCA vein ,but after a year the RCA 100%bloked while was on plavix 75 mg and Aspirin 81 mg.Then he had lung emboli after 4 years wihout findin the reason.Now he is on plavixe&Aspirin &warfarin aswell.After 7 months beeing on varfarin he feels joints paine. what other types of drugs is there to take instead of warfrin. Mom was off warfrin for 5 days and the swelling and the purple toe syndrome went away, back on warfrin and her feet swell and are purple and she cannot walk. We do not want to have needles ## Has she consulted her doctor? Any change to medications, in this case, must be done very carefully, because it may cause a rebound effect, which could result in dangerous blood clotting. Thus, her doctor needs to be involved. If they are available, she may be able to use a combination of Clopidogrel and Aspirin to achieve the same results, so you may want to consult her doctor about them.

My husband was on Pradaxa for approximately 3 months. He started waking up every morning with blood on his tongue. He went to the ENT who scoped his throat & that was not the problem. He went to the dentist & that was not his problem. While off the Pradaxa for his procedure, the bleeding stopped. He has now gone back to Cumadin and their is no longer any blood in the mornings. ## Based on the research I gathered about Pradaxa, it seems as though your husband was experiencing a severe allergic reaction/side effect to the drug. I need to find Lactose Free medications to do what the following drugs that contain lactose will accomplish what 1. Plavix 2. Zocor (Simvastatin) can accomplish. My husband has just spent 5 days in the hospital with a drug reaction to lactose and I need to be sure the others he is taking (those listed above containing lactose) can be replaced with something just as effective. ## To be honest, your best bet here might be to go to your local pharnacy, so they can look at the medications they have in stock or can order in and check the inactive ingredients for you. My husband's INR is at 1.5 should we be concerned...He has congestive heart failure and has a pace/devib also ## It really depends on what his doctor is aiming for, because in many cases, when they are using anticoagulants, such as Warfarin, they do try to aim for around 2.5. What has his doctor advised? Have they made any adjustments to his dosage?

I was on Plavix after having 4 stents; 18 months later had 4 more stents; then I had a heart attack. They took me off plavix due to the fact that my blood platelet function was only at 62%. Now, I am taking Effient; which I am told if the Effient does not work there is no other drug that I can take...What about coumadin; I am wondering if that is a possibility? ## Ive had five heart attack one stroke, I was on plavix for 9 months i got 8 stents and after 10 months later had quadruple bypass surgery its hard finding the right blood thinner special when you have multiple condition ive been on effient going on 2 years and now am being to get clogs on my legs my advice check with a specialize for kidney and liver and make sure your liver and kidney function are not out of whack

Can Sodium Hyaluronate or Hyaluronic Acid be taken with Warfarin? ## Sorry, I am not finding any information on this. Have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist? It is commonly used in many over the counter products, but some of them do react badly with prescription medications. People on Warfarin really have to be careful with what they take with it, to avoid many problems, such as severe bleeding. ## I have to take Alendronic Acid due to osteoporosis. Can I also take Hyaluronic Acid or would it be inadvisable as I have rather a sensitive stomach?

As explained by the title above, I'm seeking a substitute for coumadin which I have been taking for some time because of atrial fibrilation. I've done a lot of research and have found a number of possible substitutes, primarity proteolitic enzymes. The problem is that they work by a different mechanism from coumadin and do not affect PT/INR. I'm leaning toward Serrapepsidase and need infrormation about the test to determine correct dosage.
