I have no current CPS, but I need to identify this tablet. Shame on the pharmacy!! ## The tablet with those markings contains 5mgs of Zopiclone, which is used for the short term treatment on insomnia. If they put this in a bottle claiming it was Warfarin, I'd be seriously taking this issue up with the pharmacy, immediately. How is he doing? ## He's ok. So far so good. His levels should be between 2 and 3... he was down at 1.1. Not a good thing... he could have stroked out for heavens sake. I recently spoke with the Pharmacist.. he feels just terrible, and is writing to Dad's specialist wrt the mixup. He told me it was zopiclone... I guess a little r&r is ok... but th...
I have been taking xarelto for about 2 weeks and started having back pain where I can barely walk. Is this common and what can I do to help relieve this pain. ## Hello, Casey! How are you? Yes, the FDA lists this among the possible Xarelto side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Unfortunately, most people have not found there to be any way to alleviate it, or any improvement. Most that have posted about it ended up having to switch medications, so you may want to speak to your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?
Just a quick question, don't know whether you will know the answer, but if in 6 months at my Dr review for my blood thinners, for pulmonary embolisms in both lungs, if I was told I can come off them do I have any rights to ask to be kept on them even at a low dose? As no one know where or why this happened and tbh I'm gonna be scared to come off them now ... Is it my right go ask to be kept on them? ## I went to a hematologist and did a full blood workup because I had bilateral PEs. They can let you know if you have any genetic factors for PE. My blood work turned out ok with no genetic factors so they think it was birth control pills. Even if you go off of the thinners, you will be more aware of the symptoms if it happens again. I am getting ready to go off of xeralto at the end...
Been on xarelto for 5 1/2 months now for PE in my lungs. My gums bleed thru the nite and when i wake i have to go rinse it out with cold water to stop it. The last few days it has gotten worse. Seems my tonsils are bleeding too. Called to try to get some labs done to see if my blood is too thin. Pharmacist says to get checked asap. Anyone have this problem? ## Hello, Darrel! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I've not read any other reports of such an occurrence from this medication and that is something that you need to have checked out, right away. Typical side effects listed in the PDR may include nausea, headache, dizziness and easy bruising. There is an increased risk of bleeding with this medication, so that is a known risk. Have you had any r...

Now I am having severe muscle spasms in my back every 2 weeks and they last up to 8 days. I have also developed numbness in the bottom of my left foot. COUMADIN (actually a rat poison!) is a commonly used blood thinner with some bad side effects. NATTOKINESE is a natural blood thinner with hardly ANY side effects. Any problem switching from coumadin to nattokinese? if YES how (gradually, or...) if NOT why not ? Mike ## How do I switch from COUMADIN (taking now 7mg due to an arterial blood clot, chronic arrythmya, and a small coronary artery) to natural NATTOKINESE? Has anyone done it and can I myself do it - SAFELY.My doctors are absolutelly oposing it!! Thank you for help. Mike, Toronto, Canada ## I am having hip surgery next week. The doctor insists on my taking 2.5 mg of Coumadin for 30 days to prevent blood clots. I would prefer a natural blood thinner, i.e. Vitamin K. I have no history of heart or stroke, am in exdcellent health ,...
currently i am taking fragmin for double PE. thursday i am to get mirena. friday i am to start xarelto. anyone have any advice? any better options out there? ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? This seems to be the preferred way to do it, the Mirena with a blood thinner, to prevent pregnancy and the possible dangers to having been on a blood thinner and having a miscarriage or giving birth. However, the Mirena has been known to cause irregular menstrual bleeding, which might be heavier while taking the Xarelto, so you do need to keep an eye on that and seek medical attention, if it gets very heavy. Side effects to Xarelto may include nausea, dizziness, muscle aches and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with?
I take 4mg of Warfarin 5 days a week and 5mg of Warfarin 2 days a week. I take 10mg of Lisinopril once each day. I exercise daily and try to eat right, however I can't seem to lose any weight. Will there be any ill effects by taking lipozene along with my normal medications? Thank you in advance for your time, consideration and prompt attention I know you will give to this matter. ## Hello, Gin! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. Lipozene is a supplement that is claimed, but not proven to aid in weight loss. It has also not been evaluated for possible interactions with prescription medications or medical conditions, so there is a chance it may contain something that could cause blood thinning or elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Thus, I...
I am to receive an epadureal amd the doctor wants me to stop yaking the drug four days before the procedure. Is this safe? ## Hi John, According to an 'important warning' from the US National Library of Medicine, apparently the risk of having a blood clot form in or around your spine (that could cause you to become paralyzed) is increased if you have an epidural while taking blood thinning medications such as Apixaban (Eliquis). Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a613032.html This is probably why your doctor wants you to stop taking Eliquis several days before hand, to ensure that this risk factor is minimized as much as possible. Although I would still encourage you to discuss it in more detail with him/her before undergoing the procedure just to be on the safe side. Ho...
How long does it take for your blood to be thinned like it was before the blood transfusion ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? How long ago was the transfusion and how long have you been back on the Xarelto? It really should work in about the same time frame that it originally did, when you first started taking it. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and muscle pain.
I have had PE and am factor V Leiden. I used xarelto for six months but it made me suffer anxiety and breathlessness and depression, stiffness in joints. I swapped to eloquis and found the side effects are not so extreme but still there... Memory problems, joint pain , slight headaches and tiredness. Warfarin is sounding good ! Have heard about a herbal product called nattokinase that should be researched by drug companies. Sounds like a winner. Natural and no side effects. As I am 61 I would like to use something that I can use and stay healthy on! ## Hello, Caren! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problems you've had. However, all medications carry the risk of causing side effects, even natural herbal products. The difference is that since they've not been studie...
pradax has me feeling miserable. I have fluid retention so bad in the legs and feet and torso. I am dehydrated, mouth is dry all the time. eyes are dry. Please help. my IBS is acting up. I want off this. I had none of this with warfarin. anyone got the same problems? can i stop it on my own?????Olive ## Have you consulted your doctor, yet? In this case, it is very important to determine if your problems are being caused by the medication, or by something else. Pradaxa contains the active ingredient Dabigatran and, when stopped, it is not known to cause rebound coagulation. ## Don't do it alone for heavens sake - call your doctor you want off it - you have a choice no matter what he says - tell him/her you want to go back to Coumadin. You cannot stop it on your own as you might get a...
I have severe lactose intolerance and I have been taking eliquis for 6 weeks. I have developed eextreme chest and upper abdomen pain......I was also, for abrief time, on verapamil 240 mg. EKG and doc says not a heart issue. Any thoughts on this? ## Hello, Hummingbird! How are you? I am very sorry that you're so miserable, that's terrible. It sounds like it might be causing an acidity problem, most medications can do that. What have you tried for alleviating it? Those symptoms tend to occur with GERD. Eliquis has been known to cause some gastrointestinal bleeding, which leads me to suspect that it can cause severe internal irritation and possibly erosion. Other side effects may include dizziness, skin rash, headache, confusion and fainting. What type of doctor are you consulting?...
I was on Warfarin for almost 6 months due to a DVT and stage 4 endometriosis. I have been off Warfarin for about 6 days. My leg still hurts and I am concerned that the clot may still be there. While on Warfarin I had arm and chest pain, leg pains, fatigue, etc. I just wondered if these symptoms will go away soon since I am no longer on the drug. ## Hello, Sam! How are you feeling? Have things improved, yet? Yes, they should go away, but it may take a couple weeks, before you really feel back to normal. Many people experience those issues while taking these types of medications and quite a few have had to switch to something else. As to the clot, have you had that checked out to see? Has the chest pain been checked out? Since you've had a clot, that is nothing to play around with, it...
I was put on xarelto 5 days ago for a clot in my leg. They can't figure why I got it. So are testing for all sorts of things. As a mother of three I am very busy and the xarelto seems to be making me even more tired and my stomach looks like I'm 8months prego again!!!!! Why is this happening? I heard this drug is way better than any other. What will I and all the others do if its doing all these awful side affects. P.s I'm scared to see what my period will be like.! Anyone else's get worse? ## Hello, Dee! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problems that you've been having. Those can be side effects of this medication, many people have been complaining about similar experiences and a lot had to switch to different medications. And yes, there have been rep...
