Does warfarin contain porcine intestine products? I was just diagnosed with alpha gal allergy and need to know if it will be a problem? ## What are the markings on the Warfarin that you have? Since this is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies and the inactive ingredients may differ for all of them. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising.

Are there any side effects when getting the two together other than a risk of brusing and bleeding? ## I have posted the same question. Did you have botox while taking xyralto? If so how did it go? ## According to the University of Maryland's drug interaction tool, there are no interactions listed between Botox and Xarelto. This is not to say that no interactions exist, but based on their research it seems to me that this is not a concern. However, I would still encourage you to talk with your doctor just to get a second opinion. I'd also imagine that it may be particularly difficult to make proper discernment between each individual drug's possible side effects vs that of an interaction between the two substances...

Hi, i just found out I am pregnant. Should I stop taking Xarelto as I know it is not good for my unborn child or should I continue taking it until I go to the doctors and they will switch me to shots instead of oral meds? ## Hello, Jabri! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy. When it comes to pregnancy, you should not make any changes to what you do, or do not take, without your doctor's advice. The FDA says that risk cannot be ruled out with this medication, but taking into consideration the abruptly stopping it could risk both your life, as well as the baby's, please wait, until you consult them, to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Xeralto for6 months following PE and clots from having a cast on my leg due to a fractured ankle... The cast was promptly taken off obviously with the ankle left to heal with nothing on it..my ankle has still not healed completely and I do have pain in my lower leg and knees some days..how do I know if the pain is from leg muscle not being used for 6 months or the xeralto ## Hello, Maureen! How are you? It is hard to say, it could be due to either, or, perhaps both. The NIH lists both as being possible causes, since Xarelto has been known to cause such issues as a side effect, in some people that take it. However, I have to judge on the pain, so if it is occurring in both legs, rather than just the injured one, then my best guess would be that it is due to the medication....

Hi I have a mechanical aortic valve I am on coumadin for life. I need surgery for my neck. I am so afraid of bleeding into spinal cord or clots. I will have to do a bridge but am very nervous. Does anyone have any advice ## What is the problem with your neck? And who is advocating the surgery? ## I was rear ended in car accident. . I have a couple herniated disks. I have done alot of other treatments for over a year. A ortho surgeon said he could probably get 70 percent of pain gone ## Personally, I do not like the knife to get rid of a problem, even when serious. Alternative medicine gives you the option of getting rid of 100% of the pain, but it will take time. I do not know where you live, but there are great alternative doctors every where. Whenever you are dealing with the spine ...

I was at the hospital on the 30th of August this year, and he said everything looked positive so I could come of Apixiban if I wanted- but I would need to get a blood test on the 30th of September. Now- I am only 18 years old and I have PTSD over hospitals and needles to I chose to come off it- as I had my PE around the 30th of January this year. So that's around 5 days I've been of the Apixiban- but I'm in so much pain! Not as severe as the actual PE it's self granted but enough to worry me. The doctor said if I was in pain to go to A & E as soon as just to be cautious. It's what I can describe as 'growing pains' even though I know it's not. That was how my PE started in the first place- from my legs. I am moving about unlike before and I am NEVER going

Been on Pradaxa fro three months, experiencing severe itching all over. If I stop taking Pradaxa how long will it take for itching to stop? ## Hello, Alexandra! How are you doing? Many medications in this class can cause itching, due to the effect they have on your circulation and, if you switch medications, it may take a few weeks for the side effects to go away. But please do not stop taking it, without consulting your doctor. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Xarelto 20 mg.for about a month now and I have noticed my feet, ankles and lower legs swell worse. I do have Lymph edema in lower legs though so I have to consider that as well. I use a Lymph edema pump to keep the swelling down. But my legs have been more sore and painful since I have been on Xarelto. I was on Warfarin for years for blood clot history in my lower left leg. What do you think about the swelling? ## Hello, Delores! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the health issues that you're experiencing. Been on Coumadin for 22 years no problems.... Insurance wants me to take Warfarin. Doctors prefer brand name because I am the first person in the US with four artificial heart valves. Afraid to make the switch but price is very high on pension. Really don't want to switch. Afraid. Any thoughts. Would like some doctors to respond. ## Dear Kathy, Judging from your unique and isolated circumstance, it sounds like it would be best to try and stay on what you know already works. There's an old sayin' that says, "don't try to fix what isn't broken" - and it sounds like insurance companies will try to do just that by forcing you onto something different based on their own personal preference instead of what's logically sound. But If insurance isn't going to ...

Ugly rash on torso legs and arms, Dr no help. Had knee blood clot, gone now. Been off liquids over a month. Does anyone know what can be done and will they go away. ## Dottie again. Been off eloquis (not liquids) darn spell correct... ## Hello, Dottie! How are you? No worries, I am fluent in typonese! LOL Anyway, at this point, I am suspicious that the rash might not be due to the Eliquis and you may need to consult a dermatologist to get to the bottom of it. There are various things that could cause it, such as laundry detergents, soaps, body washes and shampoos. Have you recently switched anything that you use? Is the rash itchy?
