I've been taking lisinopril for about 3 weeks. And suddenly started with severe diarrhea. I can't eat anything. I took some anti diarrheal medicine and that's not helping. I got a bad cough and raw throat (from constant coughing and hacking) from taking liprosil. Hi, my mom was placed on Lisinopril 10mg to lower her HBP. Unfortunately we noticed the dry cough. With the approval of the Doc., she was placed on Nifedipine 20mg to be taken two times daily. Sadly, its been two weeks since she stopped using Lisinopril but the cough is still there(it just subsided a little).She is also managing diabetes. I've been on the clonidine 0.2mg transdermal for almost a year with very good results. For about 2 wks now my bp has been around 150/90. Could the clonidine be losing effect on my bp? Before starting clonidine my bp was 200/110 and hr was 140 for weeks. Lisinopril 40mg did nothing but give me severe nausea and diarrhea. ## Hello, Buffy! How are you? Has anyone had any experience of vomiting with Lisinopril? I've been prescribed them today, after two weeks of home monitoring of blood pressure. I've read a few horror stories, but few positive ones (largely, I think as people generally comment on negatives and not positives). Most of the side effects of this, or any medication, don't bother me, but I do have a severe phobia of vomiting. A few comments I've read elsewhere have indicated that coughing can be so bad it induces vomiting or triggers the gag reflex. What have your experiences of lisinopril been, particularly with regard to gastrointestinal issues, particularly nausea and vomiting? 1 year on Lisinopril: Coughing so bad I vomit. Weezing so loud I wake my self up. Rash so bad i bleed from itching. Leg cramps. Lips numb. Doctor wont listen. So I took my self off this medication. Rash is clearing up. Cough is better. Taking an aspirin a day and no salt, loosing weight to control BP till I find a new doc. Stay away from this Medication. I was prescribed clonidine weekly patches to help with hot flashes. Worked great for hot flashes; continued with patches, other symptoms began and I thought they were peri-menopausal. After several months my skin began to itch, shortly after itch then I developed a rash; wearing patch became intolerable. I just stopped wearing the patch. But then those hot flashes were unbearable and went back to Dr. requesting the medication in pill form. Dr. obliged, and I thought I was a happy camper. But. . . I had a severe allergic reaction.
