On Losartan .5, less than 3 weeks In newly taking Losartan (no adverse side effect symptoms) average blood pressure has increased moderately during this time period . Physician advised. Curious if this experience was repeated in any clinical drug trials or other patients with a subsequent longer term use of the Losartan reversing the trend line to lowering BP. ## There is always a risk that any given medication could cause the opposite of its intended effects in some people that take it. Hi, my 10yo son has ADHD, and he takes 60mg of Ritalin during the day. Having trouble falling asleep, 8monyhs ago we started giving him Clonidine 1 1/2 × 0.1mg at night to sleep. However he hates it, and takes forever to wake up in the morning and now we want to stop. I am only now wondering the dangers of this medication long term on a 10yo, considering what it does to BP and everything else...and my son will need this for the next 10 to 50 years! I would like to give him something else instead, but don't know what to give and how to proceed with swapping. Please help us!

However, this past April I nearly fully collasped while walking in my house. Thinking it was my heart, I spent 3 days in the hospital and was tested "head to foot" and no problems were found. I have been taking Amlodipine for high blood pressure for about 7 years which has been fine up till about 3 to 4 months when I experienced very hot sweats,dry mouth and cough,shoulder and neck pains and some fluttering on my right side just below my breast bone,these have got worse and more frequent. But when I go for my brisk Walk I don't get them. I am due to see my doctor on Friday. Can you tell me if an alternative available to amlodipine that would not have these side effects.

I had a panic attack in my sleep due to anxiety which sent my BP rocketing g and the fastest palpitations I have ever felt. I thought I was about to have a heart attack so called an ambulance, I was taken to A&E as I was getting numbness in my left arm. My ECG and bloods were normal but my BP was 184/111 it took hours before it went down. So a few days later I was at my doctors who said I now have to take Ramipril with 5mg Amlodipine, he didn't say when I should take them, plus he has changed my Simvastatin to Artorvastatin plus I take Metformin twice a day for type 2. I just got my refill for Losartan with 113 on one and S on the other side, so I'm wondering if this is the right one? My pills are usually green and oval shaped. ## Anita, I can confirm that a white round pill with the imprint 113 HH is Losartan Potassium 100 mg. (NDC code 16571-502). Although I am a bit confused because in your message you are also saying that your refill contained pills with the imprint 113 S which also happens to be another brand of Losartan Potassium 100 mg (NDC code 43547-362). It is common to see the same generic drug manufactured by many different companies, thereby taking different appearances. Can you please share any other details? My doctor has prescribed olmesartan 40 , amlodipine 5, and hydrothiazine 12.5 twice daily. I am 45 years old. recently diagnosed with hypertension at 170/90 and a few more readings showed 153/95 and 143/96.. I had never used any pills till now..I was agile and active... But, the doctor has prescribed Amlong-A along with Becosules for 10 days and might change tablets based on the results...
