Question: what would happen if you accidentally took two doses of Hydrochlorothiazide Losartan 100/2mg once a day in a 12 hour period of time? I thought I forgot to take it today! First time doing this and now know the key of having a SMTW... pill box! ## Hello, Jay! How are you? Not likely anything serious, but you should check with your doctor to be sure. You may need to take in some more fluids, since you may experience dehydration and lower than normal blood pressure from the accidental doubling up. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take Losartan Potassium 25mg in the morning and Aten lol 25mg before bed. I took my losartan around 11:30am. I was dropped from consultants in pain management due to my blood pressure being high twice within 10 days. I now am on new medication, 40 mg Lisinopril and my blood pressure is back to normal. This means, that I am in search of a new specialist. I am 63 years of age and still working after numerous surgeries from injuries that are all documented. I am leaving for Baltimore Maryland in a week but will need to have a prescription with me in order to perform my duties. Can anyone suggest a provider for me? Thank you in advance. ## That is very odd, that's not a normal reason for them to dismiss someone, usually they give you a chance to see your primary care physician, or a cardiologist to get it under control. How high was it? Can you post back with some of the readings? The FDA list...

Are they now smaller? I'm concerned. Purchased a new refill and I'm finding the 20 mg pills are much smaller than my last refill. When did this occur? ## What are the markings on the tablet? I'm sorry, but I need this additional information in order to double check the information for you. It is possible that they changed the fillers they used, so the tablets are now smaller. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take Lisinopril 10 mg also and my newest RX pills still show 10 mg, but they are much smaller. The pharmacist assured me that the dosage is correct. Still, it's troubling that the company hasn't provided an...

After many years on Lisinopril Hydrochlorothiazide my doctor switched me to a combination of 50 mg of Metropolol with 10 mg Amlodipine. I was stage II hypertensive even on 40/25 of the Lisinopril with readings averaging 184/94. The new combination has lowered the BP to about 134/82 on average, but I constantly have this weird pressure in my head like it's going to explode. Not exactly a headache, but a weird pressure. And I just don't feel well. I've been on this for 2 weeks. Has anyone else ever experienced this? It doesn't really fit the listed side effects. It rather scares me. I asked the doc and she was stumped, told me to try for another week or so. ## Is there any way you can describe it more specifically? I'm sorry, but that is rather vague. I understand if y...

Please tell me if you can use this drug to help with detoxing from opiates? Would it help with restless leg syndrome and other symptoms? ## Hi Scott, From what I could gather, a round white pill with G 1540 on one side and 10 on the other is reportedly identified as Amlodipine besylate 10mg made by Greenstone Ltd. This particular medication is marketed for use in treating high blood pressure, cardiovascular related ailments and even migraines. However, I don't know if these are some of the conditions you might face while coming off of opiates... And personally, I haven't heard of it anyone using it for this purpose. It may be best to consult your doctor first as s/he would surely be able to assist you in other ways if the Amlodipine was deemed inappropriate. Have you ever looked...

I started Metoprolol a couple weeks back. It wasn’t completely doing what I needed so my doc doubled it to 50 mgs about 5 days ago. Last night my feet were so swollen. Now I’m scared and I can’t reach my doctor due to this snow here. I don’t know if I should completely stop or take it down to 25 mgs? Help? Anyone? ## That can be a side effect of this medication, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports. It may also cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, increased urination, and hypotension. It would be best not to change your dosage, without a physician's approval. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## I’m still on metoprolol. My doc doesn’t think that is why my feet, ank...

I am age 75 and was for a long time taking amlong 2.5 mg once at night. Since the BP reading continued to be above 140/90 my cardiologist suggested corbis 2.5 mg once in the morning with telmasartan 40 mg. This I continued for nearly 1 year and even then the BP reading in the afternoon was higher. Then he suggested to have telmasartan 40 mg twice daily. Now a week back, he has prescribed cilaheart 5 mg (climipidine) twice daily. So, this along with nirtrocontin 2.6 mg half tablet twice daily. Does anyone have any idea about the combined effect of these drugs and also the side effects?

I had severe burning sensation on top of the head since mid November 2015. On 21/11/2015, my physician asked me to take Telsartan 40mg every morning as my BP was 178//100. Even after taking the tablets for one month, the burning in the head continued and on 23/12/2015, I visited a neuro physician who advised a CT scan of the head. The scan was normal but my BP was 180/114 and hence I was asked to meet the physician to bring down the BP immediately. The physician has prescribed Telma 40mg and Amlong, both to be taken twice a day. I am taking both these tablets twice a day since 23/12/2015. I checked the BP onn 4/1/2016 and 10/1/2016 and both times it was 120/80. However: 1. The burning on top of the head has not completely gone and i often feel this burning in the entire head sometimes. ...

Have been on 5 mg Bystolic past 10 days for recently diagnosed afib, the headaches have been daily and rough, also vivid, upsetting dreams and heavy fatigue, pulse 50 and feeling weak, cut the dose to 2.5 for the past 3 days with no improvement, any chance things will get better? ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA. Typically, side effects are transient and go away in time, once your body adjusts to the medication, but that could take 4 to 5 weeks. However, the low heart rate is a concern and you should speak to your doctor, because you may need to switch to a different medication. I have been taking clonidine for eight or nine years. It has always made me very tired, sleepy and fatigued. It also causes halusinations and lots of dreams. It has caused my hair to get really thin. The doctor has kept me on it because it lowers My pressure and so many of the other blood pressure medicines did not work. Have any of you had any of these problems including hair thinning? ## Yes, the FDA does list those as being possible side effects, you may also experience headaches, increased urination, and hypotension. What other medications did you try? Is this the only one that you are currently taking? ## No. I also take losartan, amlodipine, metoprol and hydrochlorothiazide. I would love to be able to get off all drugs and live healthy without them.

Is it safe to take Carvedilol 25mg if the discard date was three months ago?
