I found this pill in my living room. It has 255 printed on the right side, and what looks like an upside down 1 on the left side. The back is black. It looks just like Butalb (MIA 106), which I take for headaches, but the imprint is totally different. Any ideas? Thanks. ## Hi Juno, Carvedilol 6.25mg made by Solco Healthcare is the closest match I've seen here. This particular tablet is white and oval shaped with the number 255 on one side and blank on the back. For verification, it carries a National Drug Code of 43547-255-10. I wish I could be of more help, but as a last resort it may be best to take this tablet into your local pharmacy and/or have its contents analyzed by a lab. I do find it strange that specific details relating to your pill description are no where to be found. ...

I have been taking 80mg Propanalol ER capsules once a day for several years now for mild hypertension and anxiety. Lately they have not been working so well and my blood pressure readings are slightly increased, so my GP is keen for me to increase the dosage. Because I am quite sensitive to some effects or changes in meds, she feels it would be better to do this gradually with small increases to allow me to get used to the changes. However, Propanalol ER do not make a Low dose ER capsule a little higher than the 80mg but a whopping jump to 120mg! She has consequently given me a prescription for Propanalol 10 mg instant relase tablets to add in ,but to be taken part way through the day and not at the same time as the 80mg ER capsule which I take early morning as I get up around 7am. I am ...

Is it safe to be taking 5mg of amlodipine and 25mg APO-metoprolol in the morning and again in the evening? ## You should take them, if your doctor has instructed you to do so. Multiple medications are often prescribed, if someone's blood pressure is high, in order to bring it down as fast and safely as possible. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi thanks for the responses..... now I'm taking 5mg of amlodipine in morning plus 25mg of metoprolol and 20mg furosemide.... and in the evening take another 5 mg amlodipine.... is this safe.... ## I take metoprolol 25 mg and amlodipine 10 mg. I currently started taking Magnesium Potassium, Grape Seed Extract & Garlic 1000 mg to control my BP. My doctor prescribed me Losartan 25 mg. Can I take all the meds above together? ## The only concern that I found listed by the FDA is that Losartan can also increase your potassium levels, so it shouldn't be taken with extra potassium, unless your doctor specifically okays it. Having too much potassium can be just as dangerous as not having enough. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Losartan as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## 3 weeks after starting Chlorthalidone 25mg, my husband had a 1st seizure, then 6 weeks later, entered hospital with AFIB & low potassium. Now taking c...

I found a small, white round pill with the numbers 210. There are no other markings on it what so ever. I have see others with 210 and other markings, but this has nothing on it at all other than 210 Can anyone help me to identify it?? ## I'm sorry, but I can't find a listing for a tablet that just has 210 on it, either, in any of our prescription drug resources. Where was it found/obtained? With just the marking 210, this leads me to suspect that it is probably some type of over the counter medication, however, there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Does anyone else know what this is? ## I have the same pill, purchased from Osco Drug--it is amlodipine 5mg. I was checking it out, because usually my script is a smaller, white pill ## Thank you, Bonnie...

Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. What are your current blood pressure levels? Have they been high, or low?

My husband's age is 69. He is taking Amlodipine Besylate 5mg. He has just been prescribed Cialis and Flomax 0.4mg. for ED and BPH. Is there any "current" research showing a risk for lowering blood pressure to a dangerous low when taking all 3 meds conurrently? I have read that the FDA approved Cialis for urinary symptoms of prostate enlargement in 2011. His urinary problem is not severe...why could he not use Cialis to treat both ED & BPH and drop the Flomax? Also he plans to have cataract surgery and I have read that IFIS is caused by alpha blockers & can complicate surgery even months after stopping use of Flomax. ( He has not filled the RX for Cialis nor Flomax yet). Thank you for your time.

I have hives and i am curious if there is any documentation on this type of reaction to atenolol? ## First of all, I would like to state that an allergic reaction, including a rash, is possible with any drug, that is one of the things that can happen when you are allergic to it. That said, yes, this is listed under the severe reaction section, meaning you should stop taking it and talk to your doctor immediately. ## I have been taking atenolol for five years and now I am having hives. the allergist and doctor dont contribute it to the medication but I am convinced this is causing my issues. did you experience the same,. ## I have also been taking atenolol for about 7 years. Everything has been going on fine all these years, but suddenly for the last 5-6 months, I am having allergies and...

I used to have medical aid and was prescribed Co-Diovan 80 plus Twynsta 40mg. But then I got retrenched and had to receive other medication since the State does not keep these kind of medication. The State gives medication free of charge. I was prescribed a list of medication back since none were effective - my BP remained high. Most recently I got Atenolol 50mg plus Perindopril 4 plus Adco-Retic 2.5mg for water retention. My blood pressure remained non-consistent so I decided to rather go back to the Co-Diovan/Twynsta combination again. I must say that these medications are really expensive but since it is my health, I purchased them out of my own pocket. I have been using the Co-Diovan combination for the past 3 days but have noticed that my blood pressure ranges between 167/93 to 149...

I have taken the Mylan Catapres for a long time, but now I am told suppliers can't get it. I have been forced to take another brand which makes me sick. Why has the Mylan brand been unavailable? ## It is hard to be sure, the reason can vary. The suppliers of inactive ingredients might be short, or the suppliers of the active ingredients. The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and insomnia. What brand are you currently taking?

I started taking Coveram last December 2017 and after 1 week i developed cough which I find very disturbing. The effect of it was exemplary and just maintained my BP but the cough is really my concern. Just this March, my follow up check up, I talked to my Doctor and raised my concern regarding the cough. He changed my anti hypertensive medications to Twynsta. Until now my cough does not go away. What can be the possible reason for this? I am taking Vitamin C daily and maintained my hydration. Please help. ## Coeram contains Perindopril and Amlodipine, and Twynsta contains Telmisartan and Amlodipine, and according to NIH reports, the Amlodipine is notorious for causing a dry cough as a side effect. The problem is that once that cough starts, it usually doesn't go away, so my best gu...

I was prescribed 10 mg Lercanidipine about three weeks ago for high blood pressure. Experiencing two types of chest discomfort, one is my heart pounding in my chest usually accompanied by flushing. This usually passes in a couple of minutes. The second is chest pain when moving about sometimes. This passes in a few minutes upon resting. I also suffer from anxiety and this is definitely not helping!!! I try to stay calm but am beginning to worry about doing anything! If this is just a side effect and will pass then that's OK and I will persevere. Can anyone put my mind at rest please? Also excessive toilet trips! ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Palpitations and flushing can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA. As to the chest pain, however, that is something...

I was prescribed Losartan 50 mg for a heart condition 10 months ago For the last month I have been having extreme left leg pains waking me up at least twice every night. Since taking Losartan I have put on weight, suffered muscle cramps and insomnia but decided I would live with them for 12 months when my doctor will review . But the pain in my leg is no joke any longer. ## Why are they making you wait a year for a review? Usually, when someone has a heart condition, they are checked very frequently for the first few years. Things do not normally go to a one year check up, unless the person has remained stable for a long period of time. When I first had heart failure, I started out seeing the doctor every two weeks, then went to once a month, then once every 2 months, and so on. It took...

How long does it take to become effective and reduce blood pressure from the start of the treatment? ## Hi, Tatow! How are you? This contains the active ingredients Perindopril and Amlodipine. It will take about 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full effectiveness in your body. That's about the same time that the side effects, if you have any, will reach their peak in intensity and start to taper off. They may include nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. You can learn more Peridopril details here and there are more Amlodipine details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank You So Much. I take 20 mg of lisinopril every morning. I went to take my night medicine and accidentally took my blood pressure again. Should I be worried. ## Hello, Wanda! How are you? What are your normal blood pressure numbers? You can safely take up to 40mgs a day, but your blood pressure may go lower than normal, which could cause you to experience nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension, as reported by the FDA. Hi, I started taking Exforge Tab 5/80 mg for three days and I feel like I have the flu! This is my first time ever taking a high blood pressure medicine, and I am a foreigner living in Taiwan. Not sure if I have confidence they gave me the right med, as I saw online that Exforge is usually given when other high blood pressure meds have not worked. I have slight fever, chills, aches, sore throat, headache. I need to travel to Nepal in a week, and don't want to feel like this. Wondering if I should hold off until I get back. Wondering if these symptoms are normal.

I have been taking 20 mg lisinopril with the diuretic and my blood pressure has been anywhere from 140?/90? To 150?/98 or so. Today my doctor switched me to losartan hctz100-25 mg. I'm worried the mg in losartan is so much higher than the lisinopril. Is this safe? Will this make my blood pressure drop to an unsafe level? I took the lisinopril this morning and he told me to start the losartan tomorrow morning. Is this okay? ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? That is a normal starting dose for Losartan, it may seem a lot higher than the dosage you were taking of Lisinopril, however, since it is in a different class of medications, it is actually only a little higher, which I'm guessing is due to the fact that your blood pressure readings were still high and need further lowering. How...
