I’ve been on 8mg candersartan for a month , at lowered my blood pressure quite quickly , but now it’s been a month I just checked it on someone’s machine and it was too low ,116/59, I have not had any alcohol for a month also so that was causing my high blood pressure and I’ve lost half a stone as was 3 stone too heavy , so maybe the life style change would of lowered it anyway and the pills maybe have made it too low which I’ve heard is dangerous, I’m getting a new machine tonight so if it’s very low on that , can I stop the pills , obviously see a doctor but that can be hard to get an appointment ## It would be best not to stop the medication without your doctor's approval. There is a chance that it could be the only thing that is successf...

My mother is 85 and takes co-pritor. she had a constant irritation in her throat and starts coughing so much that she cannot hold a conversation. Is this a side effect of Hydrochlorothiazide and Telmisartan? ## Hello, Celeste! How is your mother doing? Yes, it is most likely due to the Telmisartan in this and once that cough usually starts, it doesn't go away. She'll most likely need to switch to a different medication. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## can telemisarten cause kidney damage and decrease in GFR ..I have a transplanted kidney and GFR is decreasing

Recently I have been having trouble with my vision, especially after reading or being on the computer for awhile. It's like a film over my eye. I went to an optometrist, and his diagnosis was that my tear ducks were not working properly, mostly in one eye but a little also in the other. He said that this could be a side affect of metoprolol, which I have been taking for several weeks -- (Metoprolol ER succinate 25mg. twice a day. I was prescribed this for a heart skipping, short of breath feeling, a result from mytrovalve prolapse in my heart valve. Has anyone else taking this medicine have problems in their vision? ## Actually, vision problems are a very well-known side effect of these types of medications, including Metoprolol, you may also experience headache, dizziness and joint...

I have been on losartan 100mg od, lisinopril 20mg od, bystolic 10mg plus triamt/HCTZ tab 37/5/25 od for a few years to bring my blood pressure down which it did to between 130/88-140/90 but now it is back up to 190/90-200/100. The lisinopril and bystolic was increased too, but with no real effect; and today minoxidil 10mg was added od. Am I taking too much meds? What about drug interactions? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. No, multiple medications like this are often prescribed, when someone has dangerously high blood pressure and need to bring it down safely as fast as possible and I din't find any interactions or problems listed, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. The FDA classifies Minoxidil as an a...

My wife was prescribed celestamine ns in Mexico because she was experiencing very strong eye and nasal fluid because of a cold condition and she could not take medication off the shelf because she is on high blood pressure pills. Since taking the celestamine ns she has experienced a ton of body pain in her muscles and joints. Could this drug have caused this kind of reaction? ## The Celestamine MS from Mexico contains Betamethasone, and Loratadine, it is commonly used to treat allergies. However, the NIH does warn that the Betamethasone may cause elevated blood pressure, and heart rate, as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, mood changes, and weight changes. And yes, it has also been known to cause some types of body pain. How long will she be taking? What other medications is ...

A round white pill 28th NT on One side and a check Mark on the other side ## Hi Chuck, Does the check mark happen to look anything like a cursive or italicized "V"? I know that Qualitest (formerly Vintage Pharmaceuticals) produces products that carry this type of logo, which is what had me curious about your pill... Also, where did you get it from if you don't mind my asking? A pill's origin (whether it be from the internet, an old pharmacy script, found on the sidewalk, etc) may say a lot about its integrity and how much you can probably trust it to be anything of significance. This leads me to my next thought which if possible would be to have it analyzed by a lab as a last resort, if you felt like someone's safety might've been in jeopardy due to this unknown ...

After taking first atenolol and then bystolic for several years, I've now been switched from the beta blocker to amlodipine. My cardiologist told me not to taper down the bystolic, just switch to the cc blocker. Today is day 3 (my last dose of bystolic was Saturday) and my resting heart rate is still ranging from about 49-55, even with coffee. How long should it take until the heart rate recovers to a more normal level? ## It may take a week, or two, although the Amlodipine could also lower your heart rate, as well as your blood pressure. The NIH lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## I'm a 68 y/o female on multiple Anti-Hypertens...

Hello. We are on vacation visiting beautiful panama beach Florida and my husband's blood pressure has gotten as high as 203/110. He was on lisinopril 10mg ER and took a CT head that came back negative. My concern is that his BP is still remaining around 150/98. We just want to make it home to follow up but these blood pressure readings are really scaring me. We also started an 81 mg Aspirin. What else can we do? Should we take both BP pills? ## I am not any type of health pro or in any field, but my husband's cardiologist has him on metoprolol 25mg, atrovastatin 10mg, amlodipine 10mg, lisinopril 5mg with/and aspirin 81mg. I was given wrong medication once and now i am sufferring from some nerves not working. If you could help me out for this i would be highily obliged. My doctor gave me a medicine RESNER to rest my nerve in my toes but it rested some other nerve. ## SonDragon, Bystolic contains the active ingredient Nebivolol and these types of medications work by affecting your circulation, so feeling a little cold can be normal, but it's odd that you only have it in one hand, ra...

I've been taking lisinopril 20 mg twice daily for several years, filling it through Walmart Mail-Order whose supplier is Lupin Pharmaceuticals. The pills have always been pink and the same size until my most recent refill, when the size is now half of what it was previously, about the same as the hydroclorothiazide (HCTZ) 25 mg pill I take as well. Although the latter is pale peach in color while the former is pink, both pills are round in shape and the similarity between the two is quite problematic, especially for seniors like myself or anyone with poor vision, particularly when trying to distinguish between them in low light. Apparently pharmaceutical companies are legally allowed to change a pill size without FDC permission and with no requirement to advise customers of the chan...

I take 10 miligram Lupin tables - have been taking them 2x a day for 20 years. Today, I opened the bottle and they were 1/2 the size. Same markings on the pill and container, same color, same manufacturer but 1/2 the size. I asked the pharmacy assistant about it and she said the company was making them smaller but they were the same. I asked how they were doing that - were they removing fillers? Why did they have so many fillers in the first place. She said she didn't know, but would transfer me to the pharmacist. I asked the pharmacist and she sounded like she had been asked what the weather would be like the next day - "oh, I don't know...yeah...I don't really know." I don't feel comfortable taking these. ## Yes, in most cases they have changed the fillers they...

Lisinopril - How old is to old to use this medication? My pills are from 2013. Does the pill increase or decrease in potency with age? ## Medications tend to decrease in efficacy with time, according to FDA reports. Although, it is interesting to note that a nurse practitioner recently told me that the U.S. is the only country that actually requires expiration dates for medications. I don't know if that is true, and overall, before using an expired medication, you should double check with your doctor, or pharmacist.
