I am preparing to go on a cruise. Has anyone taken Toprol XL with Dramamine or other anti-dizziness drugs...OTC or otherwise? There are numerous drugs and foods that seem to interact adversely with Toprol XL. Thanks for your reply. ## I've been on Toprol XL 50mg for several years. I have taken airline flights and used both dramamine and another brand with no side effects and they did the job. I didn't get nauseated or sick. Kathy ## Kathy: You were correct. round yellowone side dan dan other side 5246 ## You mention two different identifying numbers here, both 5642 and 5246. I cant find anything for 5246, so I am going to assume it is 5642. This is generic minoxidil 2.5mg or name brand Loniten. This is a medication used to treat high blood pressure. Side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, among others.

Perhaps this pill is something called Diovan, 40mg. Actually it would be the generic form of Diovan, which name currently escapes me. Anyway...this is a medication that treats high blood pressure. ANXIETY ## This is not used for anxiety. It is Avapro 300mg. It is a medication used for high blood pressure and to help expel any extra water in the body. Side effects include inability to pass urine, heart palpitations, dizziness. ## Yep, nenene is correct, the generic/drug name for this is Irbesartan, and it is most definitely an Angiotensin II Receptor Agonist, which really has no other uses other than to lower blood pressure. I even looked up several monographs on it, at various sites, and anti-hypertensive is the only use that is indicated and approved by the FDA and stated by the manufacturers. I supposed it is possible the person thought, by the looks of it, that is was some form of antianxiety med or a Benzo. Many people do assume that all meds that are related or the same look...

Signed Marion ## Well, really it is possible to say that any drug can cause almost anything, everyone reacts to them in different ways, you can also react differently from name brand to generic since the binders and fillers are different. However, to rule out some other problem that needs addressing, your best bet is to talk to your doctor. They will know if it is a possible cause of the drug, or if it could symbolize some other health problem that needs addressing.

orange round ## I believe this is generic chlorthalidone 25mg or name brand Hygroton. It is a diuretic used to control high blood pressure. I think the number on this are from an old stock of pills so it was hard to find. Watch out for loss of appetite, diarrhea or constipation, serious headache...these could be reactions to the medication.

ROUND WHITE PILL ## Does it say PAR on the other side in kind of fancy letters? If so, this is generic Lisinopril 40mg. Generic for Prinivil tablets. It is a medication typically used to control high blood pressure. It can cause your pressure to drop too low, interact with your sugar levels if you are a diabetic, cause blurry vision and sometimes...make you tired until you get used to it. ## I think that has to be it, unless it has no other markings and could be an OTC drug or supplement. The only other thing in the databases with that number is oval, not round. ## That's the same thing I found. I take Lisinopril myself, generic of course because it is cheaper. small round yellow pill with MP657 on one side and nothing on the other side ## does it say mylan or mp 657? ## Eenie, meenie, MP 657 is Clonidine 0.1mgs, usually used to lower blood pressure, but it does work on some nerve pain and etc. so it is occasionally used to relieve withdrawals when someone is tapering off of other meds. I am guessing, only guessing, that since they saw the M on it, they assumed it was a Mylan pill. I have run into this numerous times, people see a V and think something is Vicodin and etc.

It can cause sudden changes in urination, make you not hungry, and experience sudden lethargy or dizziness. You must be careful driving, and alcohol will intensify the lethargy and/or dizziness. It is usually suggested that you take the medication twice a day instead of one. You can safely break the pill in half and take one in the morning or one at night, or get pills that are half the daily prescribed dosage and take one in the morning and one at night. It has been proven that it works best if taken this way.
