My husband has been taking carb/levo 25/250 and his doctor has increased his pills to 6 a day. His burry vision has increased and blood pressure drops, is this too much medicine? ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? According to the NIH and FDA, it is normal for side effects to recur or worsen, when someone's medication dosage is raised. I have this fear of taking this drug because of all the published side effects but know it is for my own good. I guess I just need some assurance from people taking this drug . ## Hello, Gordie! How are you? All medications carry the risk of causing just as many side effects as this one and those listed as the most common actually occur in a very small percentage of people, generally around 1%, which is a very small number out of the million or so that are taking it. According to the FDA, the most common ones may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and stomach pain. Additionally, side effects tend to be transient, they only last for about 4 to 6 weeks, while your body is getting used to the medication, then they taper off, until they go away e...

Is it okay to take Losartan100 mg, and 50mg Atenolol? What time of day should each be taken? I also take requip. Is there any interaction with Losartin or Atenolol? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? If your doctor has prescribed both the Atenolol and Losartan for you and are monitoring you, it should be fine. Multiple blood pressure/cardiac medications are often prescribe, if someone has high blood pressure that may put them in danger, or to get better control of a cardiac condition. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and increased urination. And I didn't find any interactions listed between them, but its always best to double check such information to be certain. Requip is listed as being most commonly used to treat the sym...

Can 25 mg of Atenolol be replaced by 5 mg or by 2.5mg of Nebivolol? ## Hello, Sharda! How are you? From what I've been able to find, 2.5mgs of Nebivolol would be equivalent to 25mgs of Atenolol, but pleaser don't make a change, unless your doctor has instructed you to do so. Nebivolol is contraindicated with some medical conditions, such as heart failure/heart block. The FDA classifies these medications as beta blockers and list the most common side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and increased urination. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi i was on Amilodipine 10mg for about two years but was having bad side effects, so in April last year my Dr. Put me on Losartan 100mg. Is it possible that my new green 100 mg Losartan makes me feel differently than the white 100 mg? Can the pill change whenever the generic manufacturer changes? Can I get my pharmacy to get me the white pills? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? Yes, there can be slight fluctuations from one generic to another, so one may affect you differently and make you feel slightly different than another. As to changing with your pharmacy, that is entirely up to them and whether or not they can get the others in for you. Do you happen to remember who the manufacturer was? I have been taking Lisinopril 40Mg daily for six months. Two months ago I began to have plugged nasel passage with no pain or pressure. The feeling I have is that my throat and nasel passage is extremely dry and it feels like I need to expel mucus from my nose, but there is none. I have been given two rounds of antibiotics, nasel spray and have tried every OTC decongestion and antihistamine, but none of these remedy my problem. Constantly trying to clear what feels like dried mucus and this does nothing but make my throat sore. Have also tried steam, nasel rinses and any home remedy to correct this. Now my ears feel plugged so I have had enough. Have any of you had this experience? Only dry caugh is when I am trying to clear my dry nasel passage. Not painful, but extremely irritating! #...

I have been taking metoprolol tartrate 50mg for 10 plus years. Recently I have been experiencing cold feet, especially when I lay down. My heart doctor checked my blood flow to my feet and said it was normal. He then suggested the culprit could be the metoprolol tartrate 50 mg that I was taking once daily. Can you recommend a substitute to eliminate this problem? ## Hi Al, Sorry to hear about you getting "cold feet" - no pun intended though Lol. Well I looked into the side effect profile of Metoprolol and found that NIH.gov actually lists "experiencing a paleness or cold feeling in the fingers/toes" as a less common symptom associated with this medication. Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0045008/#DDIC602483.side_effects_section So it sounds to me like your doctor...
