I have been bleeding for the past two weeks now and am not sure if it is a side effect of the Lexamil or not ## Hi, Leigh! Very sorry about the issue you're having, I know that's very annoying and inconvenient. The breakthrough bleeding is most likely from the Jasmine/Yasmin, since it is a hormonal based contraceptive. Such irregularities can occur for the first 3 months you're taking it, as your body is getting used to it and they may occur at other times, since there are many things that can affect your hormone levels, such as stress and weight loss. How long have you been taking it?
I was reading the comments on Lo Loestrin Fe birth control pills and the side effects seem similar to mines. Some periods were short and some periods were longer (from 2 days to 5 days) and on other periods, I missed one in between. In my head, I thought these pills don't work as well as the other pills offered with other gynocologists. I actually stopped taking the pills because I was afraid the pills might mess my hornomanl system up. Hope there is some people who can easily say that there is birth control with advising to notice (diet changes and condoms). ## All oral contraceptives, as well as the shots and Mirena IUD are hormonal based and can mess up your natural hormonal balance. That is just what happens, when you add synthetic hormones to your body and unfortunately, even d...
Hi,I had a Mirena inserted Oct '11 after being on Primulot -N for several years. I wasn't prescribed it for contraception it was to control bleeding & replace estragen as I'm 59yrs. One week later on my follow-up appt the Gynocologist said that I should've stop taking Primolut -N, I told him that I wasn't told to stop. There was still no change in Nov & my mood swings were getting worse. Dec I had another follow-up appt & a different Gyno saw me.I told him that I'm a nervous wreak & very angry, whats going on? he just kept saying `give it time, it will settle '(refering to the Mirena). My Gyno didnt listen to me when I tried to explain that I felt stressed, angry & depressed. My friend came to visit at Xmas & couldn't believe the ch...
Ive been working a lot and going to school so between my hectic schedule i some how completely forgot and fell behind a few days. It is now Friday and i still have Tuesdays blue pill to take. How many pills are okay to take in one day? ## At this point, it is best to just start a new pack, as you are no longer protected against pregnancy after missing that many in a row. You'll need to take tablets continuously for 7 days, before you are protected again. The max you can take in one day is 2, but that still won't put you back to being protected from pregnancy. You'll still need to take them for 7 days in a row to do that. Thus, it really is better on your health to just start over. In the future, I'd suggest finding some way to remind yourself to take them. For instance, ...
I have been taking sprintec for three years, and mono linyah for one month and then quit it all. Now my period is late for three weeks. According to the home pregnancy test I am not pregnant. Is that a side effect of taking birth control for a long time for the period to be late? ## To my understanding, Sprintec (and most oral contraceptives for that matter) can cause irregular and/or missed periods as a general side effect; due to fluctuations in your hormone levels. So I don't think it's anything to be overly concerned about. Especially if you recently stopped taking it in an abrupt manner after 3 years. It may just take some time before your hormones begin to level out. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Sprintec Details I hope this info helps!
Watson round pill with 996 imprinted ## I believe the marking was actually WASTON 966 and it is a tablet from a package of hormonal contraceptives called Quasense. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and breakthrough bleeding. Are there any questions or concerns?
So I'm going on a trip in 8 days (May 31st) and I really don't want to be on my period during it. I'm suppose to get my period in 5 days. I just got birth control pills for the first time today. If I start taking the pills now even though I don't have my period yet, will that postpone my period until after my trip (I come home on June 6th)? Please help!! ## Hi Jenna, I'm not sure if it varies according to brand, so you may want to confirm this with your doctor/gynecologist first, but yes, it is possible and common for many women to skip or delay periods by only taking certain color tablets. Perhaps the following discussion threads may be of more assistance on this topic: Discuss/Sprintec-Skipping-Period-222740.htm Discuss/delaying-my-period-229970.htm Discuss/skippin...

If I start taking the pills now even though I don't have my period yet, will that postpone my period until after my trip (I come home on June 6th)? Please help!! ## Hi Jenna! I understand your concern, but there's really no way to say for sure. There's a chance that it could work to delay your period, but when you're adding these synthetic hormones to your body, there are no guarantees, because they could have the opposite effect and cause you to spot with breakthrough bleeding, or to start early. I really wish I had a better answer for you, but I don't. There'...

I am nineteen and I am taking YAZ; however, I am seeing my doctor to stop taking this pill because I have recently become aware that it is associated with a greater risk of fatal blood clots, strokes and heart attacks - even in girls as young as sixteen. I know everybody reacts differently to the pill but, in my opinion the number of global deaths in women who have taken this pill is just too great to justify. I have been taking YAZ for just over a year and I went on it to help with my skin. My skin wasn't terrible, it was very mild pimples but because they were so persistent, I saw my doctor and she suggested the pill YAZ. I wish I had known it's risks sooner. As a result of taking this pill, I have been feeling symptoms associated with potential blood clots such as cramping in...
I have been taking Loestrin FE 1.5/30 for a while now, made by Duramed and the pills were green with the number 155 on them. I picked up my pills today and they are now pink with the number 978 on them. Does anyone know that Duramed changed the look and packaging of this pill? The pharmacist said they did, does anyone else have this pill? Thanks ## many generic drugs are in hi demand an lo supplies, FDA das notified all major pharmeicetuicals of unapproved, ineffective ingredeints, your color change may be why its different, there are some recalls of generics suggest you look on web sites from kv pharmicetiucals an ethex corp, there been some complaints of watson products, if you feel the drug does nt mustard to the standards you re used too, ask pharmacy to take unused portion back an ...
I'm on Lo Loestrin Fe, where there are 24 "active" blue pills, 2 "active" white pills (that only contain estrogen) and 2 brown "nonactive" iron supplements. I know that with other pills you can skip or delay your period (if you have an event or something) by skipping the sugar pills and immediately beginning a new pack. But I'm not sure how to do this with Lo Loestrin Fe. Do I skip the two white pills AND the two brown pills or just the brown pills I want to be sure I get NO bleeding. Edit Your QuestionHow can I purposely skip or delay my period on Lo Loestrin Fe? Please avoid any drastic changes to the overall meaning of your question. 140 Edit Additional DetailsI'm on Lo Loestrin Fe, where there are 24 "active" blue pills, 2 "active"...
I had a jadelle now for a year plus, with several changes in my flow of mensuration, and now feel pains on my breast and nipples. ## What you're experiencing is actually one of the most common side effects of most hormonal contraceptives. So in my honest opinion, it's nothing to be overly concerned about. However if the side effects become too bothersome or severe, I would encourage you to contact a gynecologist at your earliest convenience for advice on balancing your hormones, by adjusting the dose or through other more natural means. The breast soreness/pain is directly related to a fluctuation in hormone levels, so finding closer balance is essential to lessening the severity of these symptoms. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Jadelle Details I hope this in...
My Dr. prescribed tri sprintec and told me to start taking the placebo on the first day of my period this month. Do I continue taking all 7 placebos and then start a new pack. ## Based on my research, the dosing guidelines for Sprintec note the following: "When you start the birth control pill for the first time, you can do so either on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period starts (even if you are still having your period). It is thought that starting on Sunday may decrease the chance that you will have your periods on the weekends, although this does not work for all women. If you start Sprintec on the first day of your period (a "day 1 start"), you do not need any backup contraception. If you choose a Sunday start, you need to use a backup m...
I've been on Tri-Sprintec for 6month's , I decided to skip my period So i went right into the new package, I ended up getting my period anyways i've been bleeding for 11 day's now. Is this normal with this birthcontrol? ## Yes, it can happen. They are hormonal based, so you don't always get what you want, when you try to skip your menstrual cycle. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Is there are times you do want to skip or adjust your cycle, then you may want to talk to your doctor about trying a different one. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I am on my first set of blue Sprintec pills and I started my period two days before I had to take my placebo pills and so far now my period has been going for 8 days. Is this normal? And if not what should...
Found a tan or orangish pill that is round with no markings on one side and an M+ inside a hexagon on the other side. What is this? ## I found same thing and googled. Found your question with no reply. Turns out this is one of the pills from a Safyral birth control monthly pack. ## @Angie, I can confirm that the pill in question is indeed Safyral levomefolate calcium (0.451 mg), also known as Beyaz. It is an oral contraceptive developed by Bayer. Its contraceptive ingredients are ethinylestradiol, an estrogen and drospirenone, a synthetic progestogen, making it a combined oral contraceptive pill. It also contains folate as levomefolic acid calcium salt, to lower the risk of complications such as fetal neural tube defects should the drug fail as contraceptive. Manufacturer: Bayer HealthC...
I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for almost a year, I take my pill at the same time every day and I start my packs the Sunday after my period starts. I know in the packet info it says that before you start taking the pills, if you are a Sunday starter, to use a backup method of birth control the first week. I just started having sex regularly with my boyfriend and was wondering if I am suppose to use a backup method the first week of EVERY pack or if that was only for when I initially started on the Loestrin 24 fe?
Updated in Loestrin 24 FeWhen taking antibiotics will itle affect the contraception released by the jadelle implant? And if so,how long does it last for? ## @wombat, I ran a check to see if Jadelle (Levonorgestrel) interacts with an antibiotic like Amoxicillin, but none were listed between the two. It may just be that it reacts with some antibiotics and not others. However the only way to know for sure would be to have a name for the medication you're referring to, as there are many different types of them to choose from. Is there a specific type of antibiotic that you plan on taking? ## Ive been on a course of fluoxitide i think thats what it is called. Thank you for your comment :) wouldn't want any mishappenings
The last year on Lo Estrin has been up and down. Sometimes I have little to no period and other times it has been heavy and painful. The last few months I've had periods every 2 weeks. Always at then end of the pack but then again in the middle of the next. Does anyone have ideas as to why and if it will stop? Or should I just try another pill? I know when starting a pill there is a grace period. But what about after a year? I rarely skip a pill and when I do I take two pills the next day. Anyone have suggestions? ## That time period should only be about 3 months, not a year. At this point, I'd strongly urge you to just try a different one. There are quite a few others available on the market and it really sounds like this one just isn't agreeing with your body, at all. Lear...
I start every package on Wednesday. this is my first week and by mistake I took two pills on the same day what should i do? ## Hi Emma! How are you doing? Did you experience any unusual symptoms? Since they are hormonal based contraceptives, taking extra may cause cramping, breakthrough bleeding, irritability and headache. As to how to proceed, you should continue taking them daily through the rest of the pack, just as your are supposed to and, in most cases, you can just start your new pack a day early, basically changing your cycle by a day. However, you should check with your doctor first, to make sure that it's safe for you to do this. Are there any other questions or comments?
