I have had a period at the same exact time for the 2 packs that I have had in the past (whenever i took the brown pills) but in the 3rd pack I started bleeding in the middle of my pack and it went on for about a week and a half.. After that I didn't start my period when it came time to take the brown pill. Me and my boyfriend have intercourse and it is usually with protection and sometimes we use the withdrawal method (he has never came inside).. Is this normal? ## Hello, Elsa! How are you? Yes, you can experience irregularities for the first 3 months, while your body is adjusting to hormonal contraceptives. However, if it continues, you should have things checked out to be sure, you may ne...
I started my pack on a Tuesday and now Im at the end of my pack on the second white pill and it's Saturday. I'd like to start my second pack on Sunday to avoid future confusion. Is it okay to skip the brown pills? I've heard they're iron pills but can cause extra spotting if missed. If so can I take the two brown pills with two blue pills this next Sunday and Monday? ## Hi Adriana! The best thing 2 do is take the pills as prescribed. I wouldn't go messing with the way u r suppose 2 take them. U don't want 2 take any chances. ## @Adriana, Regarding your question about skipping the brown pills - I don't know who manufactures your loestrin fe, but according to the patient prescribing info from Actavis, "if you were to 'forget' either of the 2 brown (...
I have been on Necon 1/50 for several years and all of a sudden I can't get it anymore. I am having trouble finding something that is similar that works as well for me with my heavy bleeding and cramping. Does anyone have any suggestions or know why or if this will become available again. ## Have you tried calling around to different pharmacies? I know that Modicon is the brand name for Necon. You can also contact the maker of the Necon you were taking and find out who they distribute to. I have found that the small mom and pop type pharmacies are very willing to work with you and help you get the type of meds you want. Good luck ## There have been several posts about this recently and it having been discontinued. Have you tried asking your doctor about a comparable alternative? I...
I have been on Minsatrin 24 fe for about three months now (before that I was on loestrin and then got put on gildis (Or whatever that off brand is. I can never remember how to spell it) so I've been on birth control since 2011) bc no one told me I could get minastrin for the same price as loestrin. Anyways, I got really sick last night and woke up with blood consistent with a period (with even a little clotting). I'm only on the second row of white pills and I've never had this happen before. Has this happened to anyone else or what is this? ## Hi Rikuya! It is normal 2 have break through bleeding, while on the birth control. It may happen 4 a couple of months or so, until your body becomes adjusted 2 the new birth control. If u continue 2 have heavy bleeding and clotting, I...
I will beginning angeliq tomorrow and through all my research I feel this is the best choice for me. I have saline breast implants (9 years now) and was wondering if anyone else on this hrt has implants and if they have experienced any problems other than the breast discomfort that is a known side affect?
Updated in AngeliqI used to bleed clots the 1/2 size of the palm of my hand, cramp and lay in bed 2 weeks, wear adult diapers over my pads and tampons, be extremely unpredictable with emotions and thoughts from minute to minute. I suffered like this from age 14-28. No pills worked. I got diagnosed with an ovarian tumor, and within the surgical removal my OB found Endometriosis and PCOS, double whammy. Then I met Loestrin . 100% changedy life! It was like curing a chronic DISEASE!!!!! Now I'm forced, like the rest of you, to get on Minastrin. I absolutely approached it open mindedly but had a tiny bit of fear. I tried to ignore the pill and the fact it was new just so I was sure I wasn't psyching myself out. ============= 2 MONTHS into MINASTRIN======= •••Vaginal discharge/ yeast...
Hi, I started taking lo loestrin on the first day of my period as instructed. Then, my period ended about two days after taking the first pill. It is very abnormal for me to have a period this short. Is this normal when you start taking this pill? I know it shortens your period after taking it for a while, but could it have really effected my cycle after only taking 2 pills? ## Hello, Sara! How are you? Yes, it is possible. The sudden elevation of hormones it can cause has been known to do that, once your body gets used to it, things should normalize. You may experience irregularities for about 3 months, or so. Is there anything else I can help with?
what does anyone know of pain pumps and what drs in new jersey use them ## There is no listing of doctors that use them. They are really only used in cases of severe pain, where someone either can't take oral medications, or they have exhausted other pain control options. Learn more pain amanagement details here. So, it's really not something that you can just walk into a doctor and ask for, they are last resort types of treatments. What do you currently take for pain? ## Hey Nikki, I just came across your question, but saw you posted over a year ago. I truly hope you've been successful in finding a doctor & that this message finds you well & pain-free. In any event & to answer your question, I know of only 1 doctor in NJ that does pain pumps--Dr. Datta in Hacken...
I used the trigestrel to skip the placebo pills cz I didn't wanna menstruate I did this once, I just skipped them and started a new pack now on the new pack I didn't get my period it's just spottings and dark marks as if I will menstruate but I never!! and I finished 2 packs already. I thought I would get my period once I started taking the placebo pills again...should I be concerned? ## Hi Kat! So, u just recently started on the pill? Am I correct? Sometimes, when u first start birth control pills, your menstrual cycle can b off. Due 2 the hormones in the pill. It's normal 4 women 2 spot or have discharge. Some women never really get a regular period on the pill. But, do b careful, because the pill isn't 100 percent. And, if u r worried about this, call your doctor.
hi, i m 24 year old, 75 kgs & single i want to ask that i have irregular periods from begining, my 1st period was when i was 13 & after 2, 3 cycles my periods gets irregular, at that time, i don't even bother to go to a doctor, but since im gaining my weight day by day, i finally go for a checkup & my doctor suggests me after few tests of thyroid secretion (which was actually normal) & us pelvic ultra sound (which doesn't show any cysts or abnormality, but report says that polycystic ovaries is noted), that i have minor up to 10% swelling inside & prescribed me pills Primolut N (norethisterone Eur.p 5 mg) for up to 5 days, 2 pills per day and after that to take Novodol family planning pills ( 21 pills containing levonorgestrel 0.15mg with ethinylestradiol .03...
I just realized i miss my daily dose of angeliqu yesterday! I took my dose this morning. Should i tKe yesterdays today too? ## Hi Kay! Just continue on taking them every day. Some people double up and some don't. It wouldn't hurt if u decided 2 double up. But usually if u miss a dose of pills, you would just take it as soon as u remember, unless your close 2 the time. 4 your next dose. ## @Kay, I realize Cats68 already responded, but if you need any additional clarification, I did come across some facts from the manufacturer that may help. According to the manufacturer's webpage, if you miss a dose of Angeliq (Drospirenone + Estradiol), they recommend taking it as soon as possible. However, they also go on to state that, "if more than 24 hours have gone by since your mis...
I've been on Lo Loestrin for 2 years. It's the only pill that controls my heavy periods. Recently, I stopped taking it (upon advice from dr.) After 3 months, still don't have a period. Not worried at this time, but was wondering about any long-term side effects (like infertility). Will certainly discuss with my GYN, but would like to read more on my own. Anyone aware of any studies that looked at Loestrin/Lo Loestrin and possible fertility complications associated with long term use? ## i have 2 baby girl my husband want a boy child he dont want to allow me for ligation or take birth control pill ineed a medicine for stop my ability to get pregnent any more please tell me the medicine name ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? Long-term use of hormonal contraceptives may increase th...
I am taking Marlissa 28 day birth control pill. I noticed that 3 weeks have active pills and the 4th week the pills are inactive. Does it matter if I don't take the inactive pills? ## Hi Humblebee, if I were u, I would still take all of my pills as prescribed. If they weren't meant 2 b taken, they wouldn't put them In there. Just follow Drs directions. ## The inactive pills are only in there to try to keep women in the habit of taking one each day, so they don't forget any while they are on the active pills and increase their pregnancy risk. So no, they don't have to be taken, you can simply discard them.
Hi I am 19 years old should i be concerned that when I am on the second white pill of my Oralcon pack and still bleeding? I also feel verry tired all the time. advise please? ## Hello, Mj! How are you? So, you're bleeding past the normal period week? With that and the other symptoms, you should likely have things checked out. You may need to switch to a different contraceptive.
I was on the 5th pill and stil didn got my peroid but the next day I got it wat was wrong with me and my period last 4days could it be pregnancy? ## Hello, Levert! How are you? It's really not a big deal, it can happen sometimes, when you are taking these and is usually nothing to worry about, if you aren't experiencing other unusual symptoms and haven't missed any tablets. However, if you're concerned, please be sure to consult your health care provider. Are there any other questions or concerns?
Can oralcon contraceptive pills be taken at 10 pm and still be effective? ## Hello, Noma! How are you? Yes, just so long as one is taken each day, at the same time, it doesn't matter what time of day that is. Is there anything else I can help with?

My question is: do I need to worry or in my case especially that it was non-fertile day on 25 of may I should be safe ## No, you are not pregnant. If you want to make sure, you can opt to take a pregnancy test. But I am pretty confident that you aren't because (a) you and your partner used a condom and (b) you had intercourse on a considered safe/infertile day. ## does th...
So my last period started on saturdaythe first, so i started the b.c "Estarylla" sunday at approx. 5:30pm, as directed to do so by my doctor. That next morning i woke up from severe hives all over my body, not knowing the cause, as it could have been from a few new items(such as my new laundry detergent, or new lotion, or the b.c). I called my doctor, he said to discontinue all three possible items. I was just concerned, is this going to cause my next period (supposed to arrive march 29th) to be "thrown off"? My period is normally on track, if not within the same week its supposed to come. Please comment with what you think/know. Thanks (: ## It isn't likely that your cycle will be thrown off if you only took one pill or so. Additionally, even if it would be, it'...
Missed several pills had spotting but no period 8 days late ## You need to see your dr. You may or may not be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to see your dr. ## Missing pills may also throw off your cycle, even if you don't get pregnant. I'd suggest trying a medication reminder app, if you have a smart phone, or some other reminder system, if you aren't pregnant, to make sure that you don't miss more pills in the future. Are there any other questions or concerns?
