i've never been on birth control before, so i know nothing about how it works! i started lo loestrin on 7/6, the first day of my last cycle. just took my first white pill about an hour ago. when will my period come? during the 2 white pills? during the 2 brown pills? or when i start next month's blue pills? anyone else as confused as i am? to make matters worse, i'll be starting tri-sprintec next month. those pills are FOUR different colors!!! ## Hi Jan, I wouldn't worry. I am the paternal nana to my 19 yr old g'daughter who attends a Tuscaloosa, AL Community College. She hasn't been feeling well and thinks it all started when she was given a prescription for birth control pills (not associated with intercourse or acne). I have currently been taking sprintec for about 4 months now, and within the last 2 months I have had no libido at all. It has caused huge issues between my boyfriend, and I have mood swings all the time. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do to help fix it? I have been on a bunch of different kinds of pills for birth control (I loved them), and I also was on the DEPO shot (I loved it but i gained over 50 lbs.). ## It really sounds like the estrogen in them doesn't agree with your body, you may naturally have a higher amount, so adding that in the pills is just pushing it too far. Have you considered trying the Mirena IUD? It only uses a form of Progesterone, rather than estrogens.

I had been taking lo loestrin Fe pills for almost 2 and a half months. During the third month of taking the pills I received my period 2 weeks early. I then had protected intercourse the following week and expected my period the next week and it never came. I then followed through with the pills and ended up missing my period for te month of April. I've taken 4 tests and took one this Wednesday at 7 weeks and they have all come out to be negative. For some reason I can't shake this feeling of being pregnant. My breasts are sore at certain times of the day and some days I have to pee like crazy then other days I do not. I've been in lo loestrin fe for 5 months & for the last 2 and 1/2 weeks I've been spotting. I always take pill exactly when I have 2 & I haven't missed any pills. This forum and internet says this happens at beginning & after 3 months your body should b used to it & no spotting. Well it's been 5 months y am I spotting now??? ## It's hard to say for sure, it could be due to a hormonal fluctuation or these new just might not agree with your body. Are you on any other medications? Have you been under any stress? Have you had any sudden weight changes? How old are you? ## I take novolog and lantus., type 1 diabetes. No weight changes. I was put on progesterone to start my period because I missed one, originally thinking I might be pregnant. So my last period started on saturday the first, so i started the birth control "Estarylla" sunday at approx. 5:30pm, as directed to do so by my doctor. That next morning i woke up from severe hives all over my body, not knowing the cause, as it could have been from a few new items(such as my new laundry detergent, or new lotion, or the birth control). I called my doctor, he said to discontinue all three possible items. I was just concerned, is this going to cause my next period (supposed to arrive march 29th) to be "thrown off"?
