I doubled up the next two days based on what I remember (I was in Mexico with no access to internet). Instructions however say if in week 3 or 4 to just start a new pack. I already doubled up. What should I do?? It was end of week 3. ## Hello, KatKlub13! How are you? Unless your doctor instructs otherwise, you could just continue taking them, but make sure to use a backup method of protection, until you've taken 7 days worth of the active tablets, without missing any. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, PMS-like symptoms and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much - I doubled up a...
Hi. I just got my prescription of lo loestrin fe today and my period started a week ago (Thursday) and ended on Saturday. It is now the Thursday after my start day, to start today would I still take the very first blue pill in the package and will it change when my period starts? ## Hello, Mary! How are you? Yes, if you want to start today you can, but you'll need to use backup protection for the first 7 days, because it takes that long for it to become effective in your body. However, if your doctor approves, you can start at any time. And yes, again. Your period should occur the last week of pills, so it would be slightly later that usual. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and ...
I started taking loestrin 24 fe 13 months ago. I've had regular periods up until 3 months ago. 3 months ago my period was 2 weeks late (due to extreme stress from finals week I'm assuming). 2 months ago i missed my period (I got my wisdom teeth removed the day I was suppose to get my period and I was also put on antibiotics for my teeth). And now I missed it this month too (I flew out of the country the day I was suppose to get my period). I haven't missed any pills and I take it at the same time every single day. I am sexually active and have taken two pregnancy tests, both negative. I haven't been sexually active in almost 2 full months. I show no pregnancy symptoms (I don't think pregnancy is the issue). I have been more physically active, eating healthier, and lo...
Hi. I have been on Tri-Previfem for about 8 months now. My last pill in the 2nd week fell down the drain. I called my Pharmacist and he told me to take the last active pill in the pack (which would have been the Saturday pill in the 3rd week) and then Sunday start my 3rd week of pills and when I got to the Saturday pill that I had already taken just start my placebo pills. My question is do I need to use protection?? ## There is a slight risk of pregnancy, but only for the later week of your period, where you actually miss a pill. To prevent that, it would be best to use extra protection for the first 7 days of your new pack. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like s...
I accidentally took a white tablet instead of a blue one for lo loestrin fe. What do I do?!? ## Hi Sarah, I wouldn't worry. Based on my research, there isn't a huge difference between the blue and white Lo Loestrin Fe pills. The white pills contain 0.1 mg of Ethinyl Estradiol; one of the synthetic estrogens used in most birth controls. The blue pills also contain 0.1 mg of Ethinyl Estradiol plus an additional 1 mg of Norethindrone; which is another type of synthetic estrogen. Basically, you just took a smaller dose of birth control, but not by much. This shouldn't effect you in a major way, you might just experience some light spotting and/or cramping. Learn More: Ethinyl Estradiol + Norethindrone Details Please post back if you have any additional questions or concerns, I h...
i was having the problm of white dischraged often..then i did sonography and it showed mildly prominent thickness ..i showed to the gyn doc suggested me to take doris for 21 days...what is my exact problm and is doris harmful for me in future?
Updated in DrospirenoneI am on day 3 of my inactive pills & I have not started my period yet. I have been on the pill for almost 8 months now. Should I be freaking out? ## Hi, Ash! No, I don't think freaking out will do any good whatsoever, other than to stress you out completely. Stress can cause you to skip your period, so can many other factors. Have you been engaging in intercourse? Have you missed any pills? Have you done a pregnancy test? Since you are concerned, I do encourage you to contact your doctor, they can do a test and exam to help you discover what's going on. ## I am on the same pills (sprintec 28 day) and lately my periods have been irregular in their start dates. Last month my period was almost a week early resulting in a period lasting about a week and a half. The month before ...
This is the first month I started taking the Lo Loestrin Fe. It is a "21 day" pack. so I just finished my third week or 21st day yesterday. Should I be getting my period today or within the week? When do I start my new pack? I am especially concerned about when I should start the new pack if I don't start my period. I don't want to go too many days without taking it. ## as soon as you've finished the last pill in your pack you should start the next pack ## Hello, Tina! How are you? You should start the new pack on the 29th day, so you don't take any pills for a week. You should get your period within 2 or 3 days of finishing the active pills. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritabil...
Hi! I've been taking Tri-prev for some time now. I am about 3 pills away from starting the sugar pills but I want to skip my period. Is it ok if, after those last 3 pills, I can just start a new pill pack in order to keep me from getting my period? ## Hello, HT! How are you? Yes, it is safe to do that, as long as your doctor approves. Many women do, in order to skip their periods when an important event or vacation is coming up. However, there are no guarantees that it will work. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, irritability and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?
Ive had jadelle for coming up 3years always had a period once a month they have always been light and only lasting couple of days but ive always had it but the last two months i havent had my period is this normal? I havnt taken a preg test but im sure if i was pregnant i would know as i always have cronic morning sickness thanks ## Hello, Eve! How are you? Yes, some people skip their cycles, or stop having them, with Jadelle. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned, there's most likely nothing to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with?
I got the jadelle implant about a year ago the first 3 months were normal than i had continues bleeding for about fours months. I've missed my periods for last two months is this normal? ## Hello, Chantal! How are you? Yes, those types of symptoms can be side effects of Jadelle, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, irritability, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned, then you most likely have nothing to worry about. When was your last pap smear?
My friend found a white round pill with the letter P on one side and the letter N on the other side.... I've searched google for the answer and I can't seem to find it.... Does anyone know what pill this is???? ## Hello, Trina! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Novast Laboratories and they list it as being one of the inactive tablets from a package of oral contraceptives called Wera. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank You so much, you helped out a lot :)
I'm a very tiny petite 21 year old girl I'm looking for some kind of way to gain weight fast! For two years now I've been trying to gain weight . I use to weigh 114 in high school and since I gave birth to my daughter two years ago I've lost a lot I was 85 pounds in january. I had a iud (mirena) but had it removed because it was one of the causes of my weight loss. Now I weigh 90 but still not what a 21 year old female should weigh... I tried everything but pills even protein shakes didn't help. I ate better and tryed not to do a lot of excersizing that would cause weight loss but still no improvement. :( I'm very scared because health wise I'm nt ok my veins show through my arms. My shoulders and face look horrible because u can see the collar and cheek bone...
I took a plan b one step, then started what I thought was my period a week later (one week early, which I figured was normal). On day 2 of bleeding, I inserted a nuvaring. I had used nuvaring a couple of months prior, but had skipped a month, then inserted a new one. Well, it is now 13 days of straight bleeding. Sometimes light, sometimes heavier period bleeding. I am more annoyed than alarmed. I live in a rural area and have to drive an hour to see a DrDr. I figure it will stop eventually, but I am getting impatient and wondering if I should take the nuvaring outout and use condoms or if this will just prolong it. Anyone had a similar reaction to Plan B +nuvaring? If so, how long did it last?! I would love to be intimate with my man but we're a bit new for *that* kind of intimacy. ...
Hi i'm 17 years old and my period is so heavy and nothing helps. I was on birth control but I stopped. Is there any over the counter pills to help my heavy period? ## Hello, Muna143! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. Unfortunately no, there is nothing available over the counter that will help. Why did you stop the birth control? That's usually the treatment of choice for such a situation. It helps rebalance the hormones, so your periods are lighter, or you may not have any, at all. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.
I've been on lo loestrin for about 4 months. I got taken off today due to a weight gain of about 15 pounds, constantly feeling hungry, bloating, breakout, and many other side effects. I start a new pill on Sunday. Just wondering how long it will take to feel like my old self again! It sucks feeling like this! I'm ready to go back to my normal weight and fit into my clothes again! ## Hello, Taylor! How are you feeling? Has there been any improvement, yet? It's difficult to say, it may take another couple months for things to settle down and return to normal. However, the weight gain may not change, since that is a normal side effect of most oral contraceptives, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and P...
I'm on the forth week of my bc pack. Already finished with the blue pills. I missed my first white pill but took it the next day with my other white pill at the same time. And today I start my brown placebo pills. I also had intercourse the day I took both white pills. Am I protected? Or should I take plan b? ## Hello, Mackenzie! How are you? Plan B is only effective in the first 5 days, after intercourse, so it wouldn't do any good to take it now. It's most effective in the first 24 hours, retains most efficacy for 72 hours, then its effectiveness at preventing pregnancy dwindles and after day 5, it does nothing. Did you start your period? The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthro...
Hello, the past 6 months have been absolutely crazy for me, my mother passed away from ovarian cancer and my dad is in hospice care for Alzheimer's. I have been having a very difficult time remembering pills. I thought I was finally on schedule this month, but got my pack mixed up with another half completed pack. So, on top of missing pills and trying to catch up... I am not even sure what pack is the pack I should be on or where I should be in my cycle. Very confusing. :( I have had spot bleeding for the past couple of days, while taking active pills. I currently do not need BC to protect myself from pregnancy as my boyfriend is out of town. I will not be seeing him until the end of this month, 3 1/2 weeks from now. If at all possible, I would like to avoid any PMS and my period a...
I started my sprinted birth control on May 24th and I had intercourse on June 4th. I did miss some pills but after intercourse I also took a plan b pill anyways to be sure! My period still has not come!! ## Hello, Lori! How are you? Missing the pills, coupled with taking the Plan B has likely thrown your hormone levels off, so your period may be late or skipped this month. If you're concerned, please consult your doctor, but it's most likely nothing to worry about. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?
I started Tri-Sprintec the day after i filled my prescription on Saturday June 6th. My period isn't due until June 16. I'm confused on what to do now. Do I need need to stop this pack and start a new one the day of my period?? Can you please help me? ## Hello, Nae! How are you? No, that's not necessary. Since you started before you were on your period, it just takes a full 7 days, before it reaches its level of effectiveness in your body to prevent pregnancy. If you'd started it the first day of your period, it would be immediately effective. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. You will also most likely not follow your prior period schedule, but i...
