i had my period on may 26 and I stop taking lo loestrin fe on a april 3 and on april 5 i have my period. is that because i stop taking the pill? ## Hello Roxie! How are you? Yes, it was most likely due to stopping it. The sudden drop off in hormones is what usually allows your period to occur. But you should consult your doctor, if you're concerned. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So I stopped taking Lo Loestrin Fe the day before thanksgiving because my body can't take synthetic birth control. We had intercourse with a condom on and he came inside the condom. I'm just scared that I could be pregnant because I stopped taking my birth control. Please answer ASAP ## I have started lo stren fe for 21 days. Now I have stopped this pill five days ago but still my period...

I have been on this pill for two years now and never had a pregnancy issue. I have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend and I intentionally skipped my withdrawal period the past two months but I stopped the pill last Friday and I haven't got my period yet it's been 9 days and usually I didn't get my period until like day 4 of the inactive pills but I haven't got it yet. I have cramps but no bleeding ... Could I be pregnant? I only missed one pill last Thursday but took it Friday with my last pill of the pack but also had sex that night. Advice??! It seems pretty impossible to get pregnant on this pill when you take it as faithfully as I do. My grandmother also just passed so maybe it is stress but I usually bleed when I'm stressed... HELP! ## Have you consul...

I have a festival to attend so I want to schedule my menstrual cycle asap. I just have week for that. Is that why people take hormonal contraceptives? ## Hi, I have planned a tour on 10/10/14 and my date of menses is 9/10/14. So I want to be finished with my period before the journey. Plz, tell me the name of medicine should I take? I'm 30 yrs female. ## Hello everyone, I'm not familiar with all brands of contraceptives, but the two that I hear about being used most often when it comes to altering the timing of your period are Sprintec and Lo Loestrin Fe. Apparently taking the inactive tablets is what would normally induce your menstrual cycle by causing breakthrough bleeding... So my understanding is if you change the date that you would normally take these particular pills, yo...

I started sprintec on the first day of my period.ever since then,I have stop and go bleeding.today has been the heaviest since my period.is this a side effect for sprintec? ## Hello, Evelynn! How are you? I'm sorry about that, I know it's very annoying. Yes, that can be a side effect of oral contraceptives and it may take about 3 months for things to settle back down and normalize, because your body is getting used to the added hormones. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. If it continues too long, or gets very heavy, then you should consult your prescriber, as this may not be the right one for you to take. Is there anything else I can help with?

I don't know if this was posted before because I didn't see it but I have a question. I'm on sprintec birth control and I got my period yesterday at 1am. I've taken 2 of the white placebo pills. I was wondering if I started taking the blue pills will it stop my period? Tomorrow's my birthday and I feel absolutely terrible due to my period. I've been on this birth control for about 2 months. I'm almost 4 months post partum. ## Hello, Marie! How are you? No, once you've started, switching back to the active pills won't stop it. It can sometimes lighten it or shorten it by a day or so, but that's about it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleedi...

My partner and I are ready to start trying to conceive. Just not this month. We plan to start trying as of August on my next ovulation and however long it takes. I use this app that tells me my high fertility days and i have been tracking it with test strips and it's pretty accurate. I had unprotected intercourse on Saturday, 7/18 and my first day of high fertility started on 7/20, however i am aware that sperm can live in you for up to 5 days. If i take a plan b pill, it will either delay ovulation or stop the egg from releasing. Will this affect my ovulation window for next month? If the egg is stopped from releasing, what happens to the egg? ## Hello, Ang! How are you? Any egg that isn't released is harmlessly reabsorbed into your body. However, if you're trying to get pr...

I started Loloestrin fe last month. It went as it was supposed to and then I started the second pack. At the end of week two I started my period. I am halfway through week 3 and my period is still going strong. I have always had a very regular cycle and never experienced anything like this with other pills. I did forget a pill and take it in the morning two days in a row. I am guessing that is why this is happening??? However, why is it not stopping? What should I do? Should I start a new pack? Will I just have to continue to have my period for the next week and a half? ## Hello, Chloe! How are you? Yes, you are most likely correct on the reason this is happening, though it's always best to check with your doctor to be sure. But, by missing pills and taking them late, you can throw ...

UGH I should have NEVER skipped the pills and started a new pack. Yes, it delayed bleeding for about 3 days for my anniversary but this isn't worth it. I've been now bleeding for 2 weeks straight. Mostly spotting the last few days but heavy at the time I take the pill each day. I'm almost at the end of the 3rd week and want to know... should I just take the sugar pills and continue bleeding and then everything will go back to the way it was? Or should I skip them again and start a new pack? I don't want to bleed anymore. It's making me so moody and I'm breaking out and crying. I've been on this for 2 years and never had an issue until trying to skip my period. I think it's time to get a monophasic. HELP. ## Hello, Kate! How are you feeling? I'm sorry ...

So I have calculated it out and it seems like my period will be here right in the middle of my week vacation =[. Is there anyway I can manipulate it so I get my period either a week before or a week after my vacation? I was thinking just skipping the brown pills and just continuing with the white ones and when my vacation is over to start the brown ones. ## Yes, you can do that, as long as your doctor approves. Many women use oral contraceptives to adjust when they will get their periods for reasons very similar to yours. However, you may still have some spotting. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking this medication for only two weeks.. I have a history of depression but never like I feel right now.. I want to throw up all the time.. I have been bleeding since I started it.. Nervous and restless.. Irritable.. And tonight I'm questioning why I am alive.. Server depression-- this is not me ## Fluctuations in your hormones can cause the types of symptoms you've described, so this might not be the right one for you to take. Other possible side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include dizziness, headache, weight gain and irritability. Have you informed your prescriber? There are others available that you can try that have different dosages of the hormones, one of them may work better for you.

Hi Ive been taking this pill for about 1 month and 2 weeks and I randomly started spotting or my period. I don't know what I should do. Should I keep taking the pill or try a new birth control? ## Hi, Laceyyx! When you first start taking hormonal contraceptives, this can happen for the first 3 months or so, as your body is adjusting to the hormones being added. It is completely normal and many women respond that way to the fluctuating hormone levels. If you're very concerned, by all means contact your doctor, but normally you should just continue taking them and give your body some time to get used to them. You aren't going to find any hormonal contraceptives that don't have this possible side effect. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Yes, can it become heav...

I am trying to find out if the hormones in Angeliq are synthesized in a laboratory or if they come from pregnant mares? I won't take any medication that involves animal suffering and feel very strongly about HRT and how many horses suffer to decrease our symptoms. I have done a lot of internet searches but nowhere can I find out how Angeliq get their hormones which makes me think it might not be in a humane way.

I'm 49 and have been taking lo loestra fe for over 3 years. I've never had break through bleeding until this month- should I be concerned? ## Hello, Karib! How are you? Was your last pap smear normal? If so, there is most likely nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned. You may just be experiencing a hormonal fluctuation, for some reason, that has caused the bleeding. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.

How are you? Has it stopped, yet? Your hormones may have become even more unbalanced. You'll need to consult your doctor again. Have you ever tried taking an oral contraceptive? They can usually help with problems such as yours. ## Hiiiii I m suffering with lot of pain with heavy bleeding in my mesural from my childhood now I checked to a doctor she suggested me to take trapic mf 3 times in day for 3 days now I m taking it first time in this month plese let me know is it safe for my future is there any side e...

My doctor said to start sprintec the Sunday after my period started. I haven't had it yet and started them yesterday anyway. My period should be here soon. Should I wait to take the second pill until my period starts or just continue taking them? And if I should continue them, how soon would they become effective? ## Hello, Alex! How are you? If you start oral contraceptives the first or second day of your period, they will be immediately effective. However, if you start them at any other point in your cycle, it will take a full 7 days for them to become effective, so you would not be able to have unprotected intercourse, until the 8th day. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you! That answered my question. If I have any more I will post them here. ## Hello, so I just s...

I have been taking this birth control pill for about 7 months. I usually am on point with taking it regularly, but recently I noticed a pill still in the pack I should've taken. I have bulimia so my doctor told me to take the pill at night so it will absorb while I sleep. I take it at 9 every night, and I dont remember missing a day. It was Sunday and I noticed the Saturday pill still there. I did take a pill the night before though, so it must've been Fridays. There must have been a night that week where my mind was foggy and I was probably half asleep and forgot to take one but thought I did. I don't pay much attention to the pack so I don't know when I missed a pill but I took that pill I noticed on Sunday morning and took my regular pill on Sunday night. (It was the ...
