I have been on Tri-Pre for awhile now. I didn't want to have my period this month so I skipped the week of sugar pills. I started bleeding a little on Wednesday and it is now Monday and I'm still bleeding. Is this going to stop? It's really light, but annoying and thought I was skipping my period by going right to the new pack. ## Hello, Madi! How are you? It should stop, but it may take a few weeks. By not giving your body that weeks break, you've basically created a hormonal imbalance, skipping the placebo pills doesn't always work for everyone. When I was younger and taking an oral contraceptive, I always spotted, if I tried. If it doesn't stop in a few weeks, or gets heavier, you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly...

I'm on my second month of lo loestrin 24 birth control pills. I've been sexually active but we always use a condom AND i take my pills every day at the same time at about 9:00 am. My first month of pills i missed my period. i was very paranoid about being pregnant but then again i put the puzzle pieces together as how much we protect ourselves to it seemed very impossible; next i recently took a $1 pregnancy test a week ago and it came out negative. So it calmed my nerves, my boobs have been itchy but I read its all the pill's fault. Also i read that its normal for first timers on birth control to miss their periods as the body must get used to the artificial hormones. I did have light brown spotting last month so i assumed it was my period. But will i get my period this mon...

I am 56 yrs old and have been taking Angeliq for 8 yrs for menopause. I'd like to stop taking the pill because I have been cursed with multiple yeast infections this year. If I stop taking Angeliq will the infections subside? Also I have trouble sleeping? Do I need to taper the pills? I'm worried that it will effect my sleep that I need so desperately due to anxiety issues that I have been fighting for years. Anyone have trouble with either one of these issues? ## Hello, Donna! How are you? The most important first step is to have this checked out by your doctor. There is a chance the infections have been due to the Angeliq, but there is also a chance they are unrelated. And a slow taper is best, suddenly stopping it may cause withdrawal effects, which as listed by the FDA, may ...

So I just got a new BC lolo Fe. Everyone talks about "break week". What is a break week? Is it when I get my period and should be using the 2 brown pills and 2 white pills? Sorry really need a point of direction ## Yes, that is the 'break week'. Some pill packs don't have you take anything that week. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took plan B probably about a month ago after an accident with my bf.... Within a week I had ridiculously heavy bleeding that lasted 7 days. Two weeks later (last Friday...) I started spotting, and am still. My Dr has been in Africa working with Ebola for months.... I should also mention that my periods have never been on a normal cycle. Has anyone else experienced this? ## Hello, Christina! How are you? Yes, Plan B is a high dose hormonal tablet, so it can cause those side effects, in some women that take it. It may take a couple months, before things settle back down and return to normal. If it worsens, or continues, then you should consult a doctor to be safe. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with?

I sometimes get my period and sometimes don't, so I am wondering if I were to have intercourse while on the white or purple pill am I still protected from pregnancy? ## Hello, Chels! How are you? As long as you haven't missed any of the active tablets, then you are protected, regardless of whether or not you have a period. The FDA lists the other possible side effects of oral contraceptives as including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Ok so here’s what happened: I take Lo Leostrin fe every day, but occasionally I may miss a day or take it hours late if it’s the weekend. I know that this f’s it up because I’ve had breakthrough bleeding even when I take it late in the day. On Saturday night, my boyfriend and I were pretty drunk and had intercourse. We noticed halfway through that the condom broke, so he put on a new one. He never climaxed, which happens sometimes when he’s drunk. I’ve been a little sore in my lower abdomen the days after, and I noticed a little discharge today. I’m probably psyching myself out, but since tonight would be the third night since we had intercourse, should I take Plan B? I know that the chances are very low that birth control was not effective and ...

I've been taking lo loestrin for for about 6 Months now. I have always got my period on the white/ brown pills. This month I never got my period. I'm on the 4th blue pill on the next pack and still nothing. I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks after and it was negative. Is this normal to miss a period / should I be worried? ## Hello, Lo! How are you? Yes, skipping a period can be normal, when taking oral contraceptives, some women don't have them, at all, on this one. There's no reason to worry, unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Minastrin for 2 months. The first month I skipped my period on purpose by not taking the brown pills and going straight to the next back. Now I'm on my second pack and took the last brown pill today. I haven't gotten my period and start my 3rd pack tomorrow. Is this normal ? ## Hello, Krys! How are you? Yes, some women don't have periods while taking oral contraceptives and it's nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was so shocked to recieve 3 packs of Enakyce. Its from India and distributed in US. I bet it must be so cheap that CVS prefer to carry it. Drug form India, no way I would take it. I am so mad now and see if I can do anything to get my Apri back. For God sake. What is wrong with the med aystem here. Why they can make yhe decision of what brand I take without my permission?! ## Hello, Tiny tiny! How are you? Under current prescription drug laws, to help keep prices as low as possible for those that don't have prescription drug coverage, the pharmacy is required to provide you with the cheapest generic they have available, unless your doctor states that you must have the name brand, or you're paying cash and request the name brand. As to taking it, regardless of where they're...

I have 5 days of active pills left and accidentally took a placebo, what do I do!? ## Hello, Jessica! How are you? Take an active pill, as well, it won't hurt anything and then just have a day where you don't take a placebo pill during your period week. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm 38, the week of labor day this year I continued a pack because I was going camping. I had my period a bit heavier last month. So after that I started a new pack and I should be starting my period tomorrow but I've not had the normal signs. I haven't missed a pill either, in over 4 months. I'm in a 7yr committed relationship so we don't use condoms. Is pregnancy a possibility? ## Hello, Jen! How are you? Did you get your period? It can be normal to skip, while taking this oral contraceptive. Some women don't experience periods, at all, while taking it. If you haven't missed any pills, then pregnancy is most likely not a concern, unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the other possible side effects as including nausea, dizz...

In past months if I accidentally missed a pill, I would double up the next day, but then would have violent pains and vomiting. This past month, I accidentally missed a pill and decided to avoid the extreme illness (since I was probably throwing up the dose anyway), and I skipped the one I missed and went on to the next one. My period came a week early, and I have had spotting ever since, and now have an acne flare up. What does this mean and what should I do? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? That is normal, if you miss a tablet. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. It may take a month, or so, for your hormones to balance back out and for things to return to normal. It's generally nothing to worry about, unless your doctor think...

I started taking Sprinted on the first day of my period, Friday 10/2. My period ended Saturday, 10/10 which is normal. I started feeling breast tenderness since the 9th which is unusual for the end of my period. Today is the 11th and period is back as if it were starting again like normal! The mild annoying pain in my abdomen too and it's not light which means I'm not spotting. I get married in 7 days and am concerned I'll have my period during the wedding. Should I keep taking the pill? ## Hello, Temy! How are you? Congratulations!! It can be normal to have irregular bleeding for the first 3 months or so, while your body is getting used to the hormonal changes caused by this oral contraceptive. However, stopping it now would pretty much guarantee that you'd be bleeding ...

This is the first month I've been on birth control and I was told to start it right away, and I did, so 2 weeks into my first pack I started my period, but before it started I had 2 or 3 days of terrible cramping, which is why I went on birth control in the first place, I figured it was normal and kept taking the pills once a day but the cramping hasn't gone away, normally my periods are 3 days long but so far it's been a week and hasn't stopped plus the 3 days and in total my cramps have been far worse than they ever have been before, and the blood that is coming out is bright red and thin, normally my period blood is dark and thick, I don't know if this is normal but I can't handle the cramping much longer. ## Hello, Kirsten! How are you doing? I'm sorry ab...

is it possible for one to get pregnant when using deso 20 and only toke tdeso 20 for 21 days ## I'm sorry, but I can't find any information on this. Is it an oral contraceptive? If so, then it should be taken daily, for 7 days, before you have unprotected sex and then you should continue to take it every day for continued protection against pregnancy. There is normally a week where you take no pills or take ones that are inactive, where you should experience your menstrual cycle. During this week, you are still protected against pregnancy. ## what is the side effect if you miss take a deso 20 and you have a contact to your boyfriend it is posible to be pregnant.. ## Today's my first day on them. Hi! I've been on Lo Loestrin for 8 or so months, and it's been fine. I've never missed a pill. I do skip the last 2 brown pills. I had my period as expected a week and a half ago...but today I just started bleeding again! I thought spotting was supposed to happen in only the first 3 months. Any insights / should I be worried? I 100% do not want to be pregnant! ## Spotting can really occur any time, because your natural hormone levels still fluctuate and then the oral contraceptives also have an effect. Unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned, then it's not usually anything to worry about. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Okay. Any time...

OK, so I was on lutera first for 5 months. I got off it around like beginning of Feb then I got onto lo loerestrin fe. I missed pill the first month but I still bled 2 times that month. Now I am more consistent and took every pill around the hour I'm supposed to and of course I had just 2 little tiny spots of blood, that was it and I've been cramping and no bleeding. I never missed a period but I am new to birth control pills. The first was that lutera and I'm 29 with 1 daughter. I been on this lo loerestrin fe for at least 4.5 months now and I always bled the first 3 months of it and now I have no period not even consider spotting only 2 little spot when wiped that was it tried tampon and no blood. I'm worried. I was sequel with my fiance but less only like 3 times this...
